For my Project, I simply used some Sizzix Flower Die Cuts. I wanted to make a quick and simple Birthday Card. I cut out the floral dies, layered them around the sentiment image, which is from the Say it Big set (Our Craft Lounge). To fill the middles, I used Ultrafine Citrus Crush.
I just made sure to use a heavy application of glue to ensure the middles really popped!

Stampotique Designers Challenge #16-Very Vintage

Challenge #16 is a STAMPOTIQUE ONLY challenge-you must use ONLY Stampotique Stamps on your creation.

Milo is our hostess this week and she has challenged the design team to create a project with a VINTAGE theme. this was a bit of a challenge for me for sure as I don't usually do vintage.

Eric and Mort had a Pincurl are best of friends. How could you NOT be a friend to someone named Mort had a Pincurl...........hehe.........that name always makes me giggle and to me he's precious! He's almost my favourite Daniel Torrente image.......... but then again, Eric is pretty Hunky dory himself.................

They're just happy to be together, as the sentiment reflects! It's great to have a friend that's right on the same page with you..........like me and my BFF Jacqui! I was going to see her this weekend........but after a fender bender and a hit and run on my car within 24 hours (more on that in the next day or so) well it's just no doable...........still I feel happy inside knowing that we both look at the same moon! AND I'll see her in about a months time!

Make sure you use STampotique Stamps only for this challenge and you link your creation up HERE. One player will be selected Randomly for a 30.00 Gift Certificate to Stampotique! What a Deal!!!

Supplies:

Stamps: Mort had a Pincurl, Eric and I feel happy.........
Paper: Tim Holtz Idea-0logy Lost and Found
Vintage Lace, Buttons and Copics

Are you ready for some Football?

Jonathon has his first High School Football game tomorrow. Last weekend the team, after having only practiced for 4 days, had the opportunity to participate in some Scrimmage Games against several teams from Kingston, Ottawa and Toronto!

It was a perfect day for a Football Game...........three actually. They played three one hour scrimmage games back to back. It was almost too nice out. I was sporting racoon eyes for two days due to a wicked sunburn.

The boys played well for a newly formed team. They must have so tired afterward. I know for sure that they were hungry~

I am so excited to see Jon, formerly known as Jonathon ;-p) playing High School Ball. He's been playing in the minor spring league for the past five years, since he was 9 years old. In all those years, I only missed one game. I think I'm more excited about tomorrow than he is but to some it up in one line...............

It Does a Mother's heart good to see her child smiling

Here's to a great Season Knights!

Moments in Time Stamp set Little Friend

Polar White

Ultra Fine Strawberry Flower Soft

Flower Soft Glue

For my project, I kept my card very simple. I needed a Sympathy Card and as I said, I prefer to keep these cards fairly clean. I used Inspired by Nature and Thoughts and Prayers from SU! I cut a template with my nestie and then covered the card front, stamping the image into the space. I then took Rust Ink to match the paper and sponged in and around the Chocolate image. I added some white gel pen dots to define the border. In order to give the card a little bit of dimension, I added some Autumn Flower Soft , In addition, I used small sprinkles of Chocolate Glitter from PK Glitz. The card seems so much prettier in real life and I've made similar cards, but I really like the touch of Flower Soft to the middle of the flowers!

Want even more inspiration? Do you like video tutorials? Make sure and visit Flower Soft TV!

Have a great day and hop on over to the ever so talented Gini's Blog now!

Commando Kittybites!

Introducing........................... Commando Kittybites

I couldn't resist sharing the latest addition to our somewhat blended Family. Isn't he just the sweetest?? I've been without a pet for awhile because Jonathon, as a young child, like me had terrible animal allergies. Like me, he seems to be growing out of the, but still it's a risk to adopt an animal only to have to return it. My guy has been talking about getting a cat at his place, so when I saw a notice board at work looking for homes for a few kittens, I mentioned it to him and we had to go and have a look at the little fellas!

Can you say LOVE at first sight? Oh my word, this little guy is so darned cute!!! It didn't take us long to decide that he just had to come home with us. It was a wee bit of an adventure getting him home. He really didn't care too much for the cardboard box that we had placed him in, but once I swaddled him in Pauls shirt it wasn't too long before he was cradled in my arms like a baby, purring and sleeping away! I probably took a gazillion pictures of him this weekend, but these are my three favourite.

At this point in the Photo Shoot, he's saying ENOUGH already!!! NO MORE PICTURES unless you talk to my agent!!!

What do you think of this sweet face??? Nope, we just could NOT resist. Paul and the boys are lucky to have him with them all the time and I have just one more thing to look forward to when we spend time together....................and Commando Kittybites? Well there's a story behind that, but I'll save it for another time................

See you tomorrow with some Stamping Stuff!

Hugs,

I'm up and running with Ippity and First day of High School!

I'm excited to tell you that after months of good intentions, I am finally up and running with my Ippity! You can read all about it HERE !!! I'm also going to be doing some Teaching through the fall and if you're interested in receiving a copy of my Curriculum and Schedule, contact me at vickig@kos.net

I'll try not to get too sappy in my post today, but I wanted to share a couple of photo's with you. A couple really is all that I could get AND I had to resort to manipulation and Coercion to get them........ the morning kind of unfolded like this............

Being the good Mom that I am , I woke up early to cook Jon, formerly known as Jonathon, to a nice warm Brekkie of Bacon and Eggs. I wanted him to have a good breakfast as he was to start Football Practice the very first day of School. I talked to him about how he is growing up and said all that sappy stuff that I'll spare you with here since I already posted mushy stuff on his Birthday........ but I'm sure you get the gist!

And so the conversation goes:

"Mom, can you give me a ride to the Bus Stop"? Now, the bus stop is about a 7 minute walk from home and would be a good kick start to exercise those size 15 puppies first thing in the morning!

"Yes Jon, but only because it's raining, are you ready to go?"

"Yep, what are you doing Mom?"

"Getting my Camera for your first day of School Picture'"

"We don't need to do that Mom"

"I KNOW it isn't a NEED Jonathon............ It's a want........I've taken a picture EVERY year since you started in school"

"But Mom, I'm in High School Now...........REALLY"

So I beat him out the door and I'm standing there, SLR in hand outside the back door ready to take the shot and got a REALLY great shot of the back door. Lo and Behold, he sneaks out through the garage and is starting to get into the car. FOILED??? NOT!!!! Nope, not me......I'm too determined. I am getting that Shot and NOTHING is going to stop me, NOTHING~~~

"What do you think you're doing Buster??"

"I'm getting in the car Mom"

"Oh no, you're not! I'll tell you what, if you don't pose for me now, I'm going to jump out of the car (In my mismatched Pajamas and Bed Head) and Snap shots while you get on the bus!"

Is that purely EVIL or what???? Needless to say, I got a few shots and I think I made him laugh eventually. I don't think I REALLY would have done that............hmmmmmm well maybe I would have, but please don't tell him, I still have Three more first day of School Pictures to take before he's all grown up and off on his own! That will be WAY too soon for me.

SDC #15-Birthday Theme

SDC15: Birthday Theme using ANY stamps

Kim is our Hostess today and I've complete Cased her text as I am posting this late............Ummmm I have to tell you that I messed up my challenge a wee bit because I thought it was a celebration challenge.........I'm celebrating Halloween with my card.........oh bother, I'd say if I were Winnie the Pooh! anyway in Kim's words:

Today is the first challenge of September and I'm loving that the temperatures are getting a little cooler here in Georgia. While I don't love the warm or cold weather, I do love when it starts to turn fall and the temps start to drop. The in between season is what I love the most.
Our challenge this week has a birthday theme. We have a lot of birthdays in our family in September and so we are thinking birthday all month long-as a matter of fact this card is going to a friend at work who I will be seeing today. Break out those Stampotique stamps if you have them and if you don't feel free to join this week using any stamps you have available. If you haven't seen the awesome new stamps released this month at Stampotique, run over there and check them out now. Our design team member, Jo Capper-Sandon has some fabulous newly released stamps and there are some phenomenal new Jill Penney & Daniel Torrente stamps as well.

I do have to tell you though, as much as I screwed up my theme, I LOVED making this card....from the Background Paper to the main image and the sentiment, it was pure bliss!

I created the background using Pearlescent Paper, stamping the Star Background
in versamark and embossing with Ultrafine white Embossing Powder. I then went direct to paper with Tim Holtz tumbled glass distress ink. I coloured Le Sorciere in Copic Markers(that little dog makes me giggle!). When I want to give my image a little bit of a watercolour feel, I always leave some white space. I then stamped the Spirit Definition in Navy Ink, tore around the sentiment and sponged with more Tumbled Glass Ink. I used a complimentary Border Punch from EK Success to do the Brilliant Blue Border, then tied some mustard ribbon in to tie in the colour of the dog, adding the small leave embellishment to add a third element of the earth tone. The wee stars are from some bags of Dollar Store Confetti I had kicking around.

Be sure that you leave some love for my fellow DT ladies by stopping by their blogs. You can find the Links on my sidebar, along with the Challenge Blog to link up your creations!

Happy Stamping!
