Flower Soft Challenge

Today’s Flower Soft challenge is to do your own thing! So, I challenged myself to use Flower Soft more than one time on my card! This image is from the Cute Companions In the Garden Summer Stories Stamp Set. You can find this awesome set at Paper Romance

I coloured the image with Copics and then I went to town with my Flower Soft! On this image I used Polar White for the tail; in the grass I used Spring
and in the wheelbarrow, Fuschia. The sentiment is an old stamp I had around here, not sure of the Company. Flowers by Prima and Button and Pearls misc.

You should see what the FS DT have been up to! Jen, Jeanne, Linda,
Rose Ann, Deb

Hey! I've reached over 250 followers............do you know what that means? Yep! I'll add some more goodies for your sweet tooth! Stay tuned for some pictures of the next lot of loot!

TSOLDT07 Bow-Nanza

This week The Stamps of Life Design Team Challenge is to use a Bow on your Project! This was not a huge stretch for me, as almost everything I do has a ribbon and a bow!

The first card was made strictly with Brushes from the Eggs4Easter Set. Talk about a quick and easy card!!! All I did was add a bow and glitter!

This little card was also made with Brushes from the Eggs4Easter Set. I just added some extra dimension with a punched border, some colouring and a little ribbon of course!

If you'd like to play along, you can load your creations here into the Stamps of Life Gallery. Just use the keyword TSOLDT07

Now hop on over to Jeanne and Deb's Blogs to see what they've come up with this week!

Happy Stamping!

A cheery card for a dull day!

Ick! It's monday and it's damp and pretty darn cold here........drizzling and grey! This little guy is enjoying a bright day! Wish I was! You can find this sweet image Posey's for You over at Amy's Paper Romance and the sentiment too!

I coloured my main image in copics and used some Flower Soft to fluff up the sheep! The lawn is coloured in sold green (YG11) I added strokes of green for grass, in addition to some Glaze Pen dot's to create a little bit of flowery goodness to the lawn. The Flowers are also coloured with some glaze pen to give them sheen. The little flower and Brad are accessories that Amy is now carrying at Paper Romance.

Well, better run, off to work I go

Happy Stamping!

C4C 30- Sketch Challenge

Hi everyone,

Before we get onto today's challenge, we just want to update you on some changes to our design team. Jessica Diedrich and Robin Willis have both bade farewell to us due to other commitments. While we are sad to have them go, we understand and wish them both all the best.

This week also the sees the start of a brand new Design Team member Silke Kittmann. Welcome to the team Silke! I had the opportunity to work with Silke on a DT in the past and LOVE her stuff! I know that you will too! This week our challenge is sponsored by:

Digital Delights by Louby Loo

If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C30. Don't forget to come back here and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too.

I used Cappuccino Pippen! I love the chubby little cheeks on this furry ball of sweetness and had to add wee bit of Cappuccino foam (liquid applique) to it's nose!!!! I coloured Pippen with Copics....don't know where the heck this DP hailed from, but I sure do think it fit my theme this week! Other than that, not much more to say 'bout the card! But be sure to follow the links on my sidebar to check out the "crazies" creations! You WON"T be disappointed~

Happy Stamping!

Magnolia Down Under Challenge 38

Since my DS is patiently waiting to get on the computer, this is a quick post! I created this card for the Magnolia Down Under Sketch Challenge. If you're interested in the details for the challenge, click HERE

Wanted to give you a close up so you could see the glittery edges!!!! Stamps and Designer Paper from Magnolia

Well gotta run!

Happy Stamping!

CSAYL #45 So many Embossibilities and a Fun announcement!

I have been bursting at the seams to share this card ALL week!!! I got a HUGE order ofMagnolia Stamps a couple of weeks ago and just had to ink some of them up! Sledding Edwin and the Christmas Tree Stamp are two of my favourites out of the Bunch! Now that being said, I am sure that each and every Magnolia I ink up, will be my favourite....lol......you KNOW how that goes!!!!

Anyway, the challenge this week is to use Embossing.......you can add heat embossing or dry embossing, or a little of both if you like! I used my Star Cuttlebug to add some dry embossed dimension to the Karen Foster DP on this card.

I added Some Stitching, Christmas Twill, A heavily stickled Heidi Swapp acetate snowflake and a hemp threaded button attune to the masculine feel for this card! Hope you like it!

I used Flower Soft Polar White under the sled and on the snowy parts of the image. Oh my goodness I love the look of this. It's light and fluffy and resembles snow more accurately than flock or liquid applique!

And what's my news???? I'm excited to be the newest member of the Flower Soft Design Team!
Did you know that Flower Soft has a Fabulous Blog where you can see some beautiful creations, get the skinny on all the new products, participate in challenges and possibly win a prize! I'll have the Design Team links up on my sidebar over the weekend! You'll be over the moon when you visit this super talented group of designer blogs! If you can't wait, head to the Flower Soft Blog and you can visit from there!

Our Craft Lounge-Sunny Springtime Goodness

Over in the LOUNGE they're sharing some Springtime Goodness! Our Craft Lounge has many Fabulous Spring time Sets! For my card, I used two of my favourite new release sets Sunshine Cheer and New Digs I am diggin' these simple one layer cards using my Nesties as a template to provide a shaped background for my images. I then made a mask of the Sun stamp and using the template that I made with the nestie and masking the sun shape into the upper left hand corner, I sponged in a background of Cool Caribbean Ink for the sky and celery ink for the grass. I then lifted my mask and stamped the sun onto the card.

I coloured the house image with Copics and added Flower Soft Fuschia Mix to the window boxes and along the base of the house and the top of the lawn to create flower beds. I stamped the sentiment in black leaving some on the main image and then I Adirondack Stream Acrylic Paint to define the border! Make sure you check out the Lounge this week to see some more sweet samples!

Happy Stamping!

SDC#4 Hippity Hoppity Easter's on it's way!

It's time for another Stampotique Designers Challenge! This week, the uber talented Hella challenged us to make an Easter Card! Seeing that I used my Bunny image last time for my Spring card, I was challenged to come up with an Easter Card without images specific to Easter!

So I went through my liberal Stampotique Stamp Collection and came up with these two Chubby Cherubs! Baby Fleur 1 and Baby Fleur 3 have a Spring in their step as they celebrate Easter! Hmmm I wonder if these little cuties are like Thing One and Thing two in the land of Seuss? I could see these spirited little sprites wreaking up some harmless havoc! Anyway, they give me a giggle!

I coloured the two with Copic Markers. I would list the markers that I use in a project, but I have a tendency to have about 15-20 markers piled on my table by the time that I am done! Using the new Basic Grey Origins line, I hand cut my Egg, sponging the edges with brown and used a scalloped Border Pundh (EK Success) to create a "grassy" base for the egg to sit on. Base Cardstock is Saffron Yellow and the Blue is a shade of Periwinkle. The sentiment "Happy Everything" is also available over at Stampotique!

I sure hope that you'll play along with us this week. This is a Stampotique Image only challenge. One random player will win a $15.00 gift certificate to shop at the online store! Three players will be chosen next weekend as the designer faves, but our hostess Hella! You can see all the creations HERE on the challenge blog

Happy Stamping!

When we Love-we grow

I'm very excited to be presenting my first Tilda card to the world! Not the first card I actually made. You can see that one on Friday when I post my Christmas Card Challenge. I made this card just for me! A few weeks ago a couple of my dearest girlfriends came over to stamp! One of them (yes D! you know who you are) brought some sweet Tilda's, which stole my heart! She shared her stash and I knew I just had to have some of my own! Between us all, we have quite a collection!

I

If you are a follower of all things Tilda, you may find my card a little barren in terms of Embellishments! I tend to have a fairly clean style with my main concern and focus being the image. I am pretty disappointed as to how the orange ink on her dress photographed. In real life the lines are softer and the contrast gradual. I didn't seem to be able to capture this on film, nor with editing. But anyway, as I look at her on my desk, she's REALLY pretty! I love this new Bo Bunny Spring Paper, which was the inspiration for her dress.

I love this sentiment-when we love, we grow, which I hold to be true...... you can find the sentiment at STAMPOTIQUE Originals. Tilda is coloured in Copics. I used a lot of stickles......orange and eucalyptus to be exact to make things sparkly and shiny, which again are not captured in the photograph to the degree I would like. I rimmed the edge of the circle nestie with stickles. Additionally, I used a Martha Stewart Border Punch and some Big Yummy Chocolate Satin Ribbon to fashion a bow! I stamped a second image so that I could colour and pop the egg of the paper to give it a little dimension. a little Paper Piercing adds a touch of interest to finalize the clean look of the design!

Hope you enjoyed my first Public Display of Tilda..........you can find all kinds of great Tilda Stamps over at Magnolia-licious!

Happy Stamping!

Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge-Bows and Polka Dots!

A fun and easy challenge! I made this very quick card, using the accessories from the Coffee Brawd set. I simply stamped a border tone on tone onto Kraft coloured card stock. I stamped the Coffee Cup in Brown ink onto some Basic Grey Sugar Rush Paper and used a E35 Copic to add some Shadowing. Using the Coffee Cup as a focal point, I mounted the cup into the middle of two Bo Bunny Flowers!

Then I stamped the sentiment in Chocolate Brown ink and Tied a big old yummy May Arts wide Polka Dotted Ribbon around the middle of the card! Make sure you head on over to the Totally Stampalicious Blog to get all the details for this Challenge!

I've got my Eye(s) on you!

Yep! Everyone can use extra eyes can't they??? I've always had four.......worn glasses since I was about 7 and would keep them on my face.......... apparently my mom had to purchase several pairs in the early days as I would conveniently leave them here in there as like socks, I didn't like them much and wouldn't have them on too long! Once I resorted to the fact that being able to see IS important, I kept them on my face!!!

When I was around 20 years old, I was able to get some contact lenses..........my vision is so poor that until the late 80's they really didn't make soft contacts for peeps like me and I just couldn't get my eye opened enough to get the hard lenses in. With much practice, I mastered the art of getting the contacts into my eyes and sometimes getting them out without much of a struggle........oh my it's not a nice thing when those lenses decide to take a trip up and under your eyelid............ohhh hope I'm not making you all squeamy feeling! Anyway, with my Big Hair and Baby Blues just a beaming, I thought I was all that............nowadays, I favour comfort over vanity (can you say Flats as opposed to stillettos?) and rarely wear my contact lenses!

Now when I became a mother, like all mothers I got those inevitable eyes in the back of my head........you know, the ones that allow you catching your small child when they're up to mischief? I had my son so convinced that I had eyes in the back of my head that he'd have his little hands back there feeling for them........ "I can't feel them mom, are you SURE they're there?"........"yes Jonathon, how do you think that I know what you're up to at all times?"......It's a wonder I didn't give him nightmares thinking about these extra peepers watching his every move. But he believed me when I told him they are invisible to everyone except for other mothers....funny he did being such a sensible boy. This is the boy that at the age of four looked at me like I was from Mars (yep gotta keep on the alien theme to at least make it a LITTLE relevant to the card that I'll eventually get around to talking about) and said "MOM" why on earth are you dressing me up to take me to the houses of people that we don't know for Candy..........didn't you tell me I musn't take Candy from strangers and BESIDES, we HAVE candy at home! TRUE, this child didn't go trick or treating until about the age of 8, when he actually realized how much candy can be accumulated by one goblin in record time. The child that around the same age, or a year younger refused to go and sit in Santa's knee in the Mall, giving me the "LOOK" and in his precise words: "Honestly mommy, do you THINK that Santa Claus has time to be hanging around HERE (the mall) this time of year..........why, he's far too busy making toys at the North Pole right now, I don't wan't to sit on that guys knee! Ummm, how do you argue that? So I didn't and as a result, only have a couple of Santa pictures!

So I'm surprised he believed in the extra eyes...........not anymore, but we still laugh about that one! Now I'm back to two.......... I no longer get tainted by my friends about being a four eyes AND I wear my glasses as an accessory and Love the way I look in them...... I've progressed to Trifocals, but that's okay.................I can see!

This cute little guy is a High Hopes Image. Zappin' Zeke...........with those three eyes, he must be a really good shot. I am sure that his weapon only shoots marshmallows or popcorn, so nobody gets hurt!!!! You can purchase Zapping Zeke at Amy's Paper Romance. Watch her Website! She has some cool new stuff coming soon!!!

I've had this Crate Paper DP for ages, and just didn't have the right image to work with, so Zeke was perfect for this card! I coloured him with Copics and added some Diamond Glaze to his eyes, gun and tongue for some dimension. A little White gel pen accentuates the border and I used Circle and Arrow punches to zip it up a bit...........

Well I better get back to studying........have a couple of exams later this week and looking forward to getting them out of the way so that I can Stamp stamp stamp next weekend!

Have a great Sunday~

Kraftin' Kimmies Challenge 22- An Eyelet HERE and Eyelet THERE!

Got Eyelets??? I have thousands of them, a multitude of colours gathering dust on my shelf!!!! Krafty Girl Michelle challenged us to haul them out and use them on a card......gee I wish I could have used a hundred or so, I'd still have a multitude to spare!!!!

As with my card I posted earlier today, this card also features the same Bo Bunny Paper! Such Pretty Colours! The Image is coloured with Copics.Heart eyelets are from Stampin' UP!

Do you like how I did the Eyelets and Ribbon??? I LOVE it! The reason being is that I totally cased the idea from one of my Crazy 4 Challenges Team Members......Barbara has an amazing website and is just so darned talented! When I saw this method of doing ribbon on her card last week, I knew I had to give it a try!!

This image is Let's do Lunch, one of the newest Kimmie Stamps!

So grab your favourite Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps, dig out your eyelets and play in the challenge! You could be the lucky winner of the stamp that Michelle is showcasing on her blog today!

Pottery Barn Inspiration Challenge #44

This week's challenge hostess Debbie has brought us a fun and funky challenge in the form of a picture from the Pottery Barn.

The rules for the challenge are as follows:

1. use colors from the picture
2. leave plenty of white/ivory space
3. add a bird to your card

So I created my card with Christmas Stamps from The Cat's Pajamas!!! I love their stamps. My Design was very simple. I cut an oval out of a nestabilitie and created an oval pattern on the white cardstock by softly sponging in Saffron Ink. Then all I did was stamp on the Bird and the sentiment and them added some gold dots to enhance the frame. Oh yes, if you look closely, you can see bells stamped in Brilliance Gold Ink. I added the paper Pointsettia (sp?) with a gold brad........easy peasy!

Want to play along? Head on over to the CSAYL Blog for the deets on how to upload your creation! You could be our next Guest Designer
