Vintage Pastel..........so pretty!!-Tuesday Trigger

When I saw this sweet Tag on Carolyn's Blog, coupled with the Gorgeous Picture that you see above, I just knew I had to check out the Tuesday Trigger at Moxie Fab World.

I decided that I would challenge myself to be inspired by the lovely confections. Being the Cookie Monster that I am, I have to say that my eagle eye honed onto the lovely iced cookies, which gave inspired me to use white embossing powder to mimic the look of icing. Hmmm it does look good enough to eat, but I'm sure that it's not!

I saw a commercial during a very rare moment that I was watching t.v. last week. It was advertising yet another reality show. This time the focus is on strange addictions. I really didn't pay much attention until I heard the quick segment on someone that was addicted to eating paper. Hmmm I wonder if the paper would be more tasty with pretty white embossing powder? I can say that I am totally addicted to paper; buying it, touching it and yes, sometimes even drinking in the fragrant aroma of freshly unpacked Designer paper (think they might take me on the show??? lol). I would say though that I would never consider eating it................I wouldn't have the best selection for creating! I really shouldn't be poking fun at someone's addictive behaviour, please don't peg me as being cold and callous, it's that pretty white embossing powder that set off this barrage of thoughts.

Additionally, the colours added to my inspiration for this design. I had mainly pink and soft blue in mind, but was wondering how I could pull in a little green and of course some of that Yummy Pomegranite! I was able to do this by using some DP from Basic Grey Eskimo Kisses. In addition I thought the paper theme went well with the sentiment, which is available at Stampotique Originals. The faux half Pearls were inspired by the nonpareils on the Cookies. SEEEE it always comes back to those darn Cookies.

Supplies:

Stamps: Stampotique: Giant Snowflake 2124 Christmas Waves 8932
Antique Border sentiment: Delightful Decorations SU

Paper: Pink, Blue cardstock, DP: Eskimo Kisses Basic Grey
Ink: Bliss Blue, Pink SU! Versamark

Accessories: Pearls-$$ store, Sponges, Dimensionals, Glue dots, Nestabilities, Embossing Powder

In addition to finishing my baking, I'm working on some release samples for January. You may find my posts scarce for the next week or so, but you never know......... I could possible continue to procrastinate and stamp rather than wrap gift, finish making my candy and well the dreaded cleaning of course!

I'll catch you before Christmas

Hugs and Love,

All that Glitters...............

is not Gold. In my case, it is............. I created this card for the Impression Obsession Challenge. Squinty Kitten with Mittens is all ready to play in the snow!!! I cut and coloured out squinty with Copic Markers. The nice thing about these images, is that there is very little colouring. I sponged Creamy Caramel ink all over as I wanted to create a bit of a vintagy look. My Metal-That's what the challenge is by the way. Use some metallics on your card is the Metallic edge to the Bow and the Gold Sticker Strips from Flower Soft. The DP is more of the Vintage collection from K&C0. You should consider playing along! You could win a very generous $25.00 Gift Certificate from Impression Obsession. You can find all the details HERE

Jenny at wee memories is giving away this awesome Color Cubbie courtesy of Studio 3 Solutions. Head on over there to check it out!

On a Roll!

I've been in a very creative mood lately! That's a good thing, because I'd rather be on a stampin' rampage, than experiencing a drought a lack of mojo.......no desire for inky fingers! I AM however procrastinating making my Christmas Candy, so perhaps that's why I'm having this creative paper burst!

I think I'll get onto the candy making tomorrow!!!.......but tonight, I'm going to Stamp!

I created this card for the Sassy Cheryl's Challenge 42, using the Play Date Cafe's colours as my inspiration! This sweet image is called On a Roll and you can find it HERE

I coloured this image mainly with Prism Pencils and added some Copic for Shading. I glittered up the Snowball with a Jelly Roll Stardust Pen. The Sizzix Snowflake embossing Folder adds some dimension to the cardbase! Ribbon is from Michaels!

See you tomorrow with another creation!

Sweet and Stormy!

Well, maybe not stormy! Perhaps it's just a gentle snowfall that the Sweet Mint Fairy
is enjoying. It's a Winter Wonderland Challenge over at Mo's Digital Pencil Challenge blog this week! I adore this sweet image and have had her in my cache for quite some time. I've actually got quite a few Mo Images and I'm committing myself to make the time to use them!

What do you think of this gorgeous Designer Paper? I picked it up at Michaels last month. It's K&Co, by Susan Wright! Very vintagy. I also picked up the sheer ribbon, which matches perfectly. I love wired ribbon, you can twist and turn to get the shape just the way you want it!

Can you see the Diamond Glaze on her Peppermint Sticks? Yummy! Looks good enough to eat!
The Ticket Sentiment is from Whimsy Stamps.......... I bought a few of these funky sentiment sets and am just using them now too! Ohhhh how I wish I had MORE time to stamp!

Did you know that Mo's is having a DT call? For more information, Check Here

I'm also entering my card in the digital Tuesday Challenge and the Scrappin' Great Deals Challenge. You can get ALL the Copics and refills at SGD!

Happy Stamping!

Sometimes I wished I didn't look like a people person!

I seem to have the kind of face that is inviting to strangers........I know that this is mostly an advantage, because no matter where I go, I usually make acquaintances, time in lineups pass quickly when you're making conversation and it's great when you need directions or the inside scoop on an event or things like that..................

That being said, sometimes I wish I could just meld into the woodwork and go unnoticed. Why? because sometimes people (well complete strangers actually) want to give me WAYYYYYYYY to much information about themselves. Additionally, making a quick stop into a store to pick up a drink can be all time consuming when the clerk decides to tell you all about her medical problems or her son's financial woes...........I've been known to spend almost a half an hour at a check out counter just listening to someone's story. Just when you think you've heard it all, along comes a story that could make one's hair curl!!! ............relationship stories, medical stuff (warts and headlice and other unmentionable things) and all about peoples nuclear and extended families; who is arguing with who, who's getting cut out of the will, child support woes.....you name it!!!

Maybe if I carried a purse like Relaxin, I wouldn't be so approachable. Not quite sure what's got me on such a tangent this evening, I think it was the Freakin' People Person sentiment on this card that set me off~ Truth be told, if 5-10 minutes of lending an ear is helpful to someone else, whether it makes a difference in their life or not, then it's worth it. Really and truly I guess I am blessed that I'm approachable and franky, some of the things I hear evoke a multitude of emotions and occasionally a good belly laugh!

Ms. Relaxin is coloured with Copic Markers. I've been using the two teal colours BG72 and BG75 a LOT!!! Kimmie from Kraftin' Kimmie got me hooked on these when we were doing make and takes at Scrapfest! They are simple YUMMY!!!!

I think I'm going to head off to watch some Football for a little while...........Go Ravens~

Happy Stamping

Look What's new at the {Stamps} of Life

Over at the {Stamps} of Life, Stephanie has just released some sweet new sets. I used this set minis4circles to create this cute card box with 4x4 note cards. My BFF Jax, gave me a couple of these plastic cartons a couple of years ago and I just have gotten around to using them now! Apparently she had a gazillion of them, but disposed of them when she moved this summer. Wish I had gotten around to using them earlier, I'd have scooped the lot!!!!

The note cards are very simple, and I used small bits of this very old chatterbox paper as a common element between the cards and holder.

I ran the CS panels through a Sizzix template to add some additional texture and interest to the large block panels!

This simple project from start to finish, took me about an hour to complete. I love the bright and cheery colour combination and I'm hoping this little giftie will make some one smile!

Happy Stamping!

C4C 67 It's a Sketch!

Happy Saturday Stampers!

It is challenge time again here on Crazy 4 Challenges. This week our hostess is Frances Byrne and she has supplied us with sketch to play with. I hope you have fun with it!

For my card, I used the "Joy" Stamp from the Delightful Decorations Set from Stampin' Up! It's pretty obvious that I like this stamp since I've used it Three times in the last couple of weeks. This time I've changed it up a bit and embossed it with Gold Detail Powder! I am loving my Dollar Store Snowflakes! As you can see, I love them as much as I love Snowmen, as they've appeared on my cards quite often this month. I blinged this one up a little with some Gold Stickles!!! To add dimension to the plain cardstock Panel, I used a Sizzix embossing template. Cardstock is from Discount Cardstock! They have a GREAT Posh Paper Kit that you can subscribe to each month..........for details on how to get yours, click HERE

If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project, and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C67. Don't forget to go to the C4C blog and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too.

As Christmas is so close, the Crazies are going to take a short break for the remainder of 2010. We will be back ready with another challenge on January 1st 2011. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your continued support of our challenge blog. We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a safe & happy New Year!

Oops!!!

I LOVE snowmen!!! These two little fellows look like they're in for a jackpot at any minute don't they?? lol............... I hope the wee snowman remains in tact when they make contact! I found these awesome snowman images over at Sassy Cheryl's Digi Stamps. If you know me, I am a snowman collector! Glass, Plus, Resin, wood, I collect Chubby ones, tall and skinny and I even have one that sings the "Snow Miser " Song from the Year without a Santa Claus, which happens to be my FAVOURITE Christmas Show!

Anyway, while at Sassy Cheryl's I noticed that she has two great challenges going on....... the Colour Me Challenge #5 and Challenge #41, which is to use two images. The images that I used are Say nothing Snowman and Bicyle Snowman. I used my Karen Foster Snap Stamps to create the sentiment! I coloured and airbrushed the wintry background with Copics, adding some stickle snowflakes for additional depth. I used some Diamond Glaze under the Bicycle Tires to create an icy Path and some Flower Soft Polar White for Snow of course! The Snowball texture on the card base is done with the eyelet setting portion of the Cropadile. Punches and a button finish the card off! I am very excited to have discovered Sassy Cheryl and her Gorgeous Snowmen and you can expect some more snowman posts in the future!

Welcome back to another Stampotique Designers Challenge! We hope you'll escape from the seasonal weather in your craft corner and join us for our longest running challenge to date - open until 01/11/11!!! Find all of the details below...

This week, Valerie is asking us to dig into our crafty cupboards to pull out our favorite punches and die cut shapes and images. She challenges us to create a project that includes at least one punched shape and one die cut shape or image! They can be any brand, any style, any size - shapes, layers, flowers, swirls, snowflakes... anything!!!! Even hole punches count as punches and pre-cut purchased shapes and chipboard count as die cuts - right!!??? We think so!!! :)

Since it's the first challenge of the month, you are welcome to use stamps from any company. Of course, if you have Stampotique images, we'd love you to include them in your project! Just add your projecton on the Stampotique Designer's Challenge Blog to be included in the draw for a fabulous $30 gift certificate to the Stampotique Store! The tiny snowflake (actually it's quite chunky!) is another Dollar Store Find

Hope you'll play along

For my card, I used Chilly a sweet image from Jo Capper Sandon as well as the Jingle Bells . Sentiment, DP is from Basic Grey Jovial Collection. A little touch of Silver Flower Soft creates and interesting border! I used the Holly with Berries#5 Die as well as an oval nestabilitie. My punch is a straight scallop from E.K. Success

Be my Valentine-The {Stamps} of Life December Release

Just thought I'd show you a couple of Samples that I created for the {Stamps} of Life December Release. hearts2love is a sweet and versatile set that can be used for sweet valentines or just those I care about you type of cards! Since I've been scrambling to do Christmas Cards, I had some fun creating these Valentine samples.

This card was quick and simple, but I like the way it turned out! I love the big Yummy bow and the fact that from start to finish, the card took approximately 20 minutes to create!

This Saturday Past...............

I had the awesome pleasure of joining my Mother and two of our friends on a short jaunt over to the Greenhouses in Glenburnie Ontario, to create a fresh Christmas Wreath. What a pretty pretty spot. The smell of Pine, Cedar and Fir was incredible and could influence even Scrooge to get into the Christmas Spirit!

My Beautiful Mother ( I know, i've said this before, but I can only hope that I'm as beautiful as she at 70 years of age. To your left is Lori and Colleen on the right.
These are two of her "adopted" daughters. My Mom is very young at heart and a number of her friends are actually the same age as me!

We were provided with all kinds of Nature's Goodness to use in our creations!

I love the Soft Sage Colour

Very Pleasing to the Eye.

A lovely relaxed time...........I don't spend far enough time doing these things with my Mother. It was a really nice reminder of how much I enjoy spending time with her

Mom's wreath in progress

The Final Product

Thanks Dad for getting it mounted so quickly

Hope it stays fresh until Christmas!
