Playing catch up with Twenty Twelve

So, it's been quite awhile since I posted my Project Twenty-twelve project. That being said, I've been pretty diligent about taking my photo's each day and posting them on the group. I'm really enjoying this project. It forces me to look a little closer at my surrounding and find interesting things to photograph. For instance, this photo of my Great Great Grandmother's spinning wheel. I love the craftmanship in this piece and we're lucky to have a treasured heirloom such as this. The photo's aren't in order, but this is what i've been up to for the last month......

I took this photo in the washroom at my hairstylist. I liked the fresh and simple look of the plant and fragrance sticks on the shelf.

Playing with my Photoshop to make Mr. Kittybites eyes a touch greener!

Who says big boys don't like character pancakes. Jon shoddied the Bearcake pretty quickly!

Mr. Kittybites longing for Spring!

This is one of four cakes I baked for a fundraiser for my friend Heather's daughter Mia. The sale raised over 5000.00 for Mia and her family!

Some Goodies on the Bar

This is one of my favourite shots this month. It was early in the morning and the sun was adding so much vibrancy to that red leaf. Can you see Spring, Winter and Autumn depicted in this photo? Paul said Summer too if you count the sun~

I really like this picture too.....one of the sights along our walking route.

More Letter Love

I've been slowly poking away at my Letter Love Art Journalling Class. Wanted to share a couple of pieces with you. The first is an exercise in lettering, the second a Journal Page using mixed media-Water based  Markers. Touch Twin Markers, watercolours and pan pastels

I have a LONG way to go I think with regard to creating anything truly gorgeous, but I'm having a great time exploring a different way to express myself! The LIttle Girl with Rose  is a fun new stamp from Impression Obsession! I think she's perfect for Journalling. Anyway, I'm looking forward to continue on with my Letter Love Classes and will keep you posted!!! Joanne is offering a second course beginning in April. The beauty of her classes is that once you sign up, you can take forever to finish, so once I've completed this course and an online photography course that I'm starting April 1st, i'm going to take that one too! She's an amazing teacher and the course thus far has been informative and fun!

CPS 257 and Brand Spankin' new dies from The Stamps of Life

This week, Really Reasonable Ribbon is sponsoring the CPS Challenge! They have a great assortment of Ribbon for all your crafting needs. How about this adorable Dragonfly? This is one of Stephanie's newly release dies!!! Sooo cute, it also comes with a shadow of a dragon fly as well as a small flower. For my cad I ran the outline die through the big shot 3 times, once with vellum, once with eggplant cardstock and one with the lilac paper. I then just cut the parts away that I wanted to highlight with each layer. Pretty easy peasy. I stickled the wings, which didn't have the greatest effect on the vellum. As you can see it kind of krinkled it a bit. I just left it as is, but I think the next time I'll use a drier glue and some clear glitter!!!

Make sure you head on over to the CPS blog to see some great designs and to enter your card in the challenge!!!!

Lily Pad Challenge with The {Stamps} of LIfe

Today, the {Stamps} of Life is sponsoring the challenge over at Lily Pad Cards

This is the sketch on which I based my design. I can't seem to get enough of this Moremums2love set
It's SO versatile and quick and easy to stamp with!!! To create the bottom border, I masked off a portion of the card and stamped the flower in Eggplant Ink. I stamped the little polka dots with Stephanie's Olive ink, which is super rich!  Then I just stamped an additional mum, cut it out and mounted on foam dimensionals! Easy Peasy!!! The Fun sentiment is from the Phrases2say set!!! Lots of Springy goodness here!!!

Head on over to Lily Pad and check out the challenge!

Happy Stamping!

Stampotique Designer Challenge-Wearable Art

This week our challenge was to create some"wearable" art....... I searched around the house to find something "wear worthy" and found this little disc that i must have picked up at one place or another along my journeys!

It was quite easy to make, and although it's a little rough looking, I think I could get better at this with some practice

I basically stamped Jo's Floral Flutter image, available from Stampotique onto white paper, I coloured with my Touch Markers. I then spooned some UTEE into the well of the trinket and melted it from underneath. I think I may have overheated it a bit, but ahhhh well, live and learn. I really should attempt it again

Anyhow, if you'd like to play along, follow the link on my sidebar to the Stampotique Designers Challenge for all the details. You can win Rubber!!! Fabulous Rubbery Goodness from Stampotique Originals!

Happy Stamping!
