Outlines Monday Designer Challenge and Product Focus-Liquid Metal Paint and Smooch!

Today's Outlines Design Team Focus is to use Sargent Liquid Metals on your card. I wanted to showcase a few of the products that Outlines Carries, so I also used Smooch Pearlized Accent Ink and Viva Pearl Pen. I'm really not much for using stamping techniques so it really was a challenge for me!!! I'll take you through the steps I took to make this card. I am sort of pleased with the results, but when I have a little extra time to play, i'd like to try it again because I think I could get an even better looking background with Practice~!

With a Dry Brush, I painted some of the metallic paint onto plain black cardstock, making sure to leave some dark areas.

Step two

I then dribbled some of the smooch inks randomly onto the painted areas, working it into the paint with a dirty brush.

Just a little note: The Lime Ink took on a goldish appearence..........this is what the background should look like when done!

Step Three

Ink up your stamp with Versamark Ink, apply embossing powder and Heat with your heat gun

Step four

trim your image and complete your card. I would also say that the next time, I would take a fine brush and make sure all the embossing powder is brushed off the background so that it shows through a little better!

As you can see in the first photo, I added accents of Ocean Smooch to add a little more oomph to the image, I filled the Hearts in with Sugarberry and added some Viva Pearl Pen peals to the Butterfly wings!

As I said, I'm not usually all that into techniques, but this one was fun and now I'm challenged to perfect it!!!

Make sure you follow the links on the DT sidebar to get some other great ideas for using Metallic Paint in your stamping projects!

Happy Stamping!
