Hey Girlfriend!!! How about some BLOG Candy!!!!




Happy Thanksgiving to my friends South of the Border !

For my Northern Neighbours, you also have something to celebrate too because you can also be the LUCKY winner of some BLOG CANDY!!!!! Yumma Yumma!!!!!!

Kristi over at HANNA stamps is not only very Thankful for the success of her new line of stamps, but graciously thankful to those of you have supported her in this new venture!!!!
She will be launching her official Hanna website any day now along with the release of two new stamp sets, one of them being a terrific sentiment set that will compliment all of your new Hanna's plus the ones that will come to us soon.     When I hear the word Thanksgiving, I think of Pumpkin Pie.........made from fresh pumpkin! No tins of pumpkin pie filling pass these doors...nope...nadda! And did I mention REAL whipped cream?

    I have lots of favourite desserts. I love anything chocolate, any cream pie, fruit crisps... I could go on and on. However, my favourite restaurant dessert is the white chocolate brownie from Moxies. As for home made stuff, probably my mom's nanaimo bars. LOVE them.

    We have a little ritual after dinner of a fine wafer of dark chocolate and a small cordial glass of cognac. YUMMY. It is only 9 am here - but may I start now? LOL

    My favourtie holiday desserts are 2 items my grandmother would make for Christmas - Scotch cakes and fruit squares with maple frosting. She is gone now and I really miss these treats. I am still trying to figure out her recipes for them.

    There can only be ONE dessert for Thanksgiving... Pumpkin Pie. My mom used to make a fabulous version that she called Pumpkin Custard... and I really miss it. Happy Gobble today!

    My favorite dessert is Mom's pumpkin pie.

    3/4 brown sugar
    1 tbl flour
    1/2 tsp salt
    2 1/4 tsp pumpkin spice
    1 1/2 cups pumpkin
    1 1/2 cups evaporated milk
    1 slightly beaten egg
    2 tbl dark molasses

    Mix sugar, flour, salt, and spice. Add rest of ingredients and stir until smooth. Pour into 9" pie pan lined with unbaked pastry. Bake in very hot oven (450) 15 min. Reduce heat to (325) and bake until firm or about 40 min. Cool before serving.

    Serve with a dollop of Cool Whip of choice and sprinkle with Pumpkin Pie Spice.

    Every time I make this people fall over. Very Yummy!

    My favorite dessert is orange dreamsicle cake. I first had this dessert at a little restaurant and it was fabulous. I asked for the recipe and was refused. So I set out on a hunt for this wonderful cake recipe...and found it. Since then, my kids request it every holiday.

    This year my kids are with their dad in SC so my DH & I are alone and will be having steak instead of a traditional dinner with all the fixings. Normally my favorite dessert would be Pumpkin Pie.
