Our Craft Lounge New Release Sneak Peek!

Exciting scoop this week Stamping Friends!!!! OUR CRAFT LOUNGE has a release coming up very very soon! What do you think of this gorgeous Silhouette set? I love the fact that the cards that I made for the upcoming Blog Hop worked up quickly and easily. Essentially, I stamped the image onto white cardstock and used a sponge to do the sand and sky. In order to make the clouds, I punched as scalloped circle and used it as a template for that purpose.
Having just purchased the Wild Card Cricut Cartridge, I made this funky round card. Tangerine, Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip accentuate the colours in the main image! I cuttlebugged the Soft Sky Background in keeping with the circular theme!!!
I'll have another sneak peek tomorrow, along with maybe a little scoop on my new buddy Marlin! We've had a few adventures since his arrival, which I am excited to share with you!
Happy Stamping!

VICTOPIA!!!!

(Me and Laura)

I thought it would never come!!! One of my most favourite weekends of the year! VICTOPIA weekend! If you have followed my blog before, you'll know that twice a year, me and my best Chickas get together to play!!! It's just such a joy to spend time with them and I am truly blessed to have such good friends!

(l-r Donna Stollery, Kim Pargeter, Jacqui Lines, Tami Coyle, Me, Diana Gibbs, Kristi Ferro, Darlene Smith, Andreanne Dejacolyn)

(Me and Andreanne)

These are the best group of women that you would ever meet!!!!

Let me tell you, I was totally in for the biggest surprise of my life on Thursday night! Back in November, Diana and I were trying to figure out ways for her to come to Victopia and surprise Jacqui, my best friend forever and Di's sister. After much chat and chatter, it seems that it wasn't meant to be. I kept hoping and hoping that she would get here, so I kept it a "SECRET" from Jax up until about ten days before Victopia, in the hopes that something would give and she would make it!! No such luck, or so I thought!

The girls coming from the west always do a shopping tour along the way and they usually don't arrive until after 9 p.m. So this year, rather than waiting in anticipation, I decided to take Jon to his Football Practice. Shortly into the practice, my Mom called to say that they had arrived.

I got in shortly after 9 and of course there were a round of squeals and hugs!!!!

All of a sudden, I notice a little lady coming up the stairs from the bar!!! Holy CRAP!!!! It was Diana Gibbs..............as Diana and Jax would say, I almost peed my pants!!!!!

Apparently they decided to turn the tables and suprise me! What a WONDERFUL BEAUTIFUL AMAZING surprise it was! I was totally shocked and THRILLED to have Diana along with my other best friends!!!!

So the weekend was spent Chatting, Laughing, Stamping, Drinking ( I won the award for the highest consumption of foot medicine! hands down) shopping and eating of course!!!!!

(Tami)

My Mom played bartender for us and whipped up some of our famous Caramel Appletinis.....I must say I REALLY enjoyed perfecting this recipe!

Kristi and Vicki-Two Peas in a Pod!

My Best Friend Forever Jax-Jax I love you to bits!

We did manage to get some stamping done! But those pictures weren't as near as interesting and the one's that we took on Darlene's Camera, after she left it for the night!!! (lol, I'll save that story for another time!)

The weekend went WAY too fast as usual and I felt a little sad to see the girls leave today!! Thank goodness I will see my Kingston friends often and the Chickas from the west before the summer is out!

I also made a NEW friend this weekend, a little stamping buddy and companion....someone to keep my company when my friends aren't with me! I'll introduce you to him very very soon!

A big thanks to all the girls for the lovely gifts they brought me............nice surprises because really and truly, the gift of their friendships are more than enough!

I just have to mention to Kim that I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE the ribbon holder.......such a unique and interesting design...............very pretty too..........know where I can get some more???? LOL!!!!

Although Rina was unable to come and play with us, she joined us for dinner! We made some new friends at the restaurant as well. This octagenarian couple popped by for a wee chat and a visit...............i think that Bob was smitten with the 11 ladies at the table and his wife was a sweet sweet soul !

Double D's------Diana and Donna!

Darlene and her Pretty Pink Drink!

Hope I haven't tired you out with this long post, but I am just so excited to share the things in my life that make me happy and evoke good feelings!!!!

Happy Stamping!!!!

Our Creative Corner Colour Challenge

I LOVE the challenge this week over at Our Creative Corner!!!! We were asked to use our favourite Colour Combination. Not Quite Navy and Creamy Caramel is my favourite Hands down!

I used Stampin' Ups! Just Beachy set. My Girlfriends are here for our Annual Stamping and Scrapping weekend and my BFF Jacqui just happened to have this set! I picked up this Beach Border punch from M's today as I thought it would go perfectly with this card as well as with some up coming release stamps that I am working on now!

Cuttlebug embossin template, Copics, White Gel pen and Spica Yellow and Jelly Roll pen adds a wee bit of bling!!!! A little Crystal effects to the windows give them a glassy look!

Have to keep it brief because I need to get back to my Chickas, but I hope to be back tomorrow to tell you about the amazing surprise I received last night!

Happy Stamping!

Sneak Peek Day Two-Hello Sunshine

Yes, HELLO SUNSHINE???? HELLO??? Where the heck have you been???? The last couple of days here, have been quite grey! Gloomy and Doomy and a little chilly, the promise of spring peeking over the horizon to tease, only to kiss our noses and quickly disappear again!!!!

It felt like rain yesterday, it looked like rain all day and I was worried that last nights Football practice would be reminiscent of a mud wrestling match! Although the boys got a little more than muddy, the rain held off! I was sure that we were safe and sound!!!! NOT!

Jon has decided that he is not fussy for having a full meal before football practice. It could be that on the first day of practice, one of his teammates lost a very large meal on the field after having to endure a vigorous run under the seemingly heavy football equipment! Actually just walking around with the helmet alone, feels like you are carrying a toddler on your head! I KNOW, I borrowed the equipment for Halloween last year and lasted but about 5 minutes with the helmet on, wondering how the heck one runs in that, let alone the shoulder pads and all the other gear.

So as we were pulling through the McDonald's Drive through, the skies opened up and the rains came! Oh my Gosh! It was Hard and Thick, almost Hail. As I attempted to only open the window enough to receive the treasure in the brown bag (rolls eyes), something wonky happened with the window and it started to go up on my arm as the rain forced it's way into the car! Hitting another button quickly, I managed to open all the windows. Thank goodness the button for the roof is in another location. For the 15 seconds or so that the window was open, there was enough rain to soak through my canvas jacket, shirt and well, you know!!! Was soaked to the bone.

This evoked a fit of giggles from myself and Jonathon and although I was slightly uncomfortable, it was one of those belly laughing episodes that one rarely forgets about! I really should have taken a picture. Thank goodness the rain was pelting into my side of the car because had it been coming in the other way, it would have melted the 30 pounds of mud off jonathon and all over my new 'stang!

Oh yes, so here's the Sunshine!

Little Lily Mermaid is on the scene! Another Sweet image from Pink Cat Studio. I kept this card basic, using Creamy Caramel and Soft Sky Cardstock, Coloured with Copics, used some hemp twine and page pebble for accents. I cuttlebugged both layers for texture and added lots of stickles for Bling!!!

This is one of my favourite images in the set of four summer themed Lily's. Don't forget to hop on over to my side bar to check out the wonderful creations of my team mates and of course to see what Tori has made for you today!!!

And if the Weather doesn't hold up, I have a whole bunch of Sunshine coming to me tomorrow night! My best GF's in the whole wide world will arrive for VICTOPIA!!!! ( can you hear the trumpets blazing??) my annual Scrapbooking/Stamping weekend! Yep, by tomorrow night, the wicked witches of the west will face off with the wicked witches of the east and we will play play play all weekend long!!! Hey!! I'll have to share some of their talents with you next week!

So drive drive safely Chickas! Enjoy your road trip and Jax, be prepared to have the stuffing hugged out of you when you get here!

Stay tuned for one more sneak peek tomoz~

Happy Stamping

Imagine that! New Pink Cat!

Imagine that!
New Pink Cat
Sneak Peeks today
Take your breath away!

Wait until you see all the delicious Designs that The Pink Cat Studio Team have in store for you this week. Can you say CUTE!!!!!!! I am loving these Lily at the Beach images! Melissa has outdone herself for sure this time!!

Lily is sure enjoying herself at the Sandy Beach in her sparkliscious bathing suit!!! What a little beauty. I have had this umbrella die from Sizzix for several years and pull it out on occasion and I thought what a more perfect occasion! You can see that Lily loves it too as she seems to be jumping off the sand in anticipation of hitting the waves!!!!!

Pink Passion, Basic Grey Phoebe Paper and torn strips of Creamy Caramel make up the papers in the card. I coloured the image with copics and sponged around the umbrella with Blue Bayou ink to add a little depth to the die cut pieces. What about that flower? Little Yellow Bicycle has come out with the sweetest clear cut shapes, this one being from the baby Safari Collection.

after a refreshing swim in the cool ocean, it's time for a change of clothing and a change of scenery. Lily's off to the Turtle park to take a ride on this scrumptious Tortoise!!!! She is definitely having a sunny day!!! DP is from Imaginisce Just imagine Collection (fairest of them all) With a base of Certainly Celery and Pink Pirouette accents! The little Jewel flowers are from Maya Road and the Fancy Punches from Martha Stewart!

Our Guest Designer for this month is Tori Wild. Check out her Faboo Blog, Wild Sprinkles! I spent some time browsing her site last night and she is one talented Stamping Chicka!!!!! and of course Pop on over to my fellow design Divas by following the Links on the DT Sidebar!!!

Pucker Up!!!!

Everybody needs a good kiss once in awhile. Passionate kisses, the one's that give you that dip in your stomach and make your toes curl, sweet kisses from a messy faced child, a quick peck on the cheek from a dear friend, even sloppy slurpy puppy kisses can give you a warm fuzzy feeling (I just love the smell of puppy breath!). Basically, this form of affection is one of my favourites! There is a level of intimacy that a kiss brings; that just speaks to our basic need to be loved~!

Hugs are great too, but a kiss can just be the sweetest form of expression to me~! They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder and although Perl may not be the most ravishing creature you have ever laid eyes upon, she looks like she could use a good kiss and a hug!

This is one of the latest Torrente images from Stampotique. In my opinion, Daniel's art just keeps getting more and more interesting!!!! I made this card for today's featured stamper challenge over on SCS, loosely basing my sketch on a card that I found in Jamie's Gallery.

The DP is from a Glitter Stack by DCWV, with a Real Red and Basic Black Base. I coloured with Copics, used a Prima, SU Big Eyelet and Wide Grosgrain to finish the image.

Thought I'd include a couple of my Favourite images from the Willie Nelson Concert I recently attended. Would I want to give Willie a Kiss??? Not really, a hug would probably suffice in this case.......lol.......but I fulfilled a goal of seeing him perform and was pleasantly surprised by he and Ray Price. Enjoy the pictures and watch for some Pink Cat Studio Sneak Peeks coming up this week!!!!

Melissa is running a contest over on her BLOG. Add the cute Blinkie that you see on my side bar for the Lily Release and you could win a set of these fabulous Stamps!!!!

Happy Stamping!

Our Creative Corner-Recycle!

With Earth Day Approaching on April 22nd, our fabulous Hostess, Silke Ledlow is hosting a Go Green Recycle Challenge. Make a card using a recycled item.

I have saved several tags off of clothing for projects, such as this tag from my favourite brand of jeans. T-shirt Hanna seemed to be a great image to use with this tag as jeans and t-shirts go well together don't they? How about this yummy DP? Jillibean has come out with this fabulous line of printed Kraft Paper!

Well, I have to run! Jonathon has his final day of bowling today and I have a lot to do to get ready for Victopia, my annual Estrogen laden Scrapping Weekend!

Want to see some cool projects? Check out the OCC Design Team Samples by following the links on my sidebar, or alternatively head on over to OCC to play along with this weeks challenge!

Happiness!

Although I have been a little slack with my card making lately, I must tell you that I have enjoyed this little sojourn whilst getting motivated to become more active and establish a better balance in my life.

About a month ago, I decided to join the YMCA with Jonathon as we were both in need of a workout regime. I also had been fairly sedentary after having some surgery over a year ago and lacked the motivation and energy to get off my butt and get busy!!!

So, after a month of steady working out, I have seen some good results. I have decided that I refuse to ever ever go on another diet and by virtue of getting exercise, have tailored my eating quite naturally to healthier foods. Yesterday I put on a pair of jeans that I hadn't been able to get into in over a year and a half AND the pants that just three weeks ago fit snugly on my hips, kept falling down as I didn't think to add a belt!!!!! I looked like a droopy diaper bummed baby all day and thank goodness for the long shirt, or I certainly could have resembled the plumber, but I was grinning with the fact that they are very very loose.

This makes me Happy. My energy level is through the roof and I haven't felt this great in a long long long time!!!

So, that along with a couple of other amazing things that have happened in the last few weeks have left me feeling very Happy! I made this sweet card to celebrate!!!!

Stamps: Stamping Bella Ketto line Yoko and Ono
Paper: Turquoise and Celery
SU Rub ons, copics, Prima Flowers, Buttons and Floss

Seem to be slowly getting my mojo back and hope to have something for you tomorrow!

Happy Stamping!!!!

Christmas Stamping all Year Long. Where'd my Mojo go?

Just in case you are wondering why i've been a little scarce, I seemed to have lost my mojo! I thought that I had just set it up on the shelf for a few days, but when I went to use it, it was gone! Life has it's way of taking over and priorities can shift.

It's amazing that one day your head can be overflowing with creative ideas, the next, as barren as the desert! Overall, I just had taken a little break from my Craft Room and the Computer and had very little contact with my Stamping Chicka's!

Luckily as I was just about to have a little nap, I heard the little ringtone of my msn beckoning me. Frances was popping in to say hi. It was nice to chat with her for a bit. I think it is brilliant that the internet has provided us with a forum to establish international relationships. Some of my favourite people that I interact with on a weekly basis, I've never even met. And yes, they make me smile (wink!).

So I was telling Frances that I had lost my oomph for stamping and wasn't quite sure what to do about it. She suggested a few things, but I think that soley through chatting with her, my mojo started to lift a little. Is it possible to absorb creative vibes through osmosis??? lol!

By the time our conversation was through, my mojo was doing a little jig and ready to go.

With that, I created today's project.
I used this sweet little image from The Cat's Pajamas as my centre focal point and loosely followed the sketch designed by our brilliant Maria over at CSAYL . Soft Sky and Chocolate Chip, the main colours with some DP from My Mind's Eye. And of course, the Brown Ribbon. I can't seem to get enough of that! Hope I'm not boring you with the Brown Ribbon thing, but lately it seems to be my first choice. Guess I'm just like the kid that has to have a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich every day for lunch...........well not quite, but I definitely have been favouring it lately! I had it complete and a little something seemed to be missing, thus the snow! If you want to play along, follow the link to CSAYL and as well you can enjoy the other creations that my talented friends have whipped up for you!
I have decided that in order to keep myself motivated to stamp, I have to maintain contact with my network. It's surprising the impact that networking can have on one's motivation. Thanks Frances for helping me get my mojo back! If all the stars are in place, it should be on a full groove very shortly!
Happy Stamping!

You make me Happy! OCC Sketch Challenge

There are so many people that we encounter each and every day. Whether our interactions are superficial, friendly, business like or intimate, every person that we have contact with evokes a reaction of some kind or another.

Even though we own the way we feel, people can trigger different emotions within us. Our interactions can leave us content, frustrated, scratching our heads in confusion, estatic, joyous, apathetic or experiencing a whole range of other emotions, negative or positive.

It's those people that come into our life, whether briefly or for the long term that when you think of them, you smile that really stand out for me. Whether it's an act of kindness, a gestures, spending hours talking and laughing on the phone, seeing a nice comment on my blog,or the one that is your forever, its those moments and encounters that allow me to believe in faith in mankind, reduce my stress and just motivates me to forge forward on my living path.

So this card is for the one that makes me happy! It sounds singular, but is really not, but rather individualized so that it is personal, but pertains to more than one person and that person could very likely be you!

I used an adorable sketch contributed by this month's hostess Silke Ledlow over at OCC
Hop on over there to see her gorgeous card as well as the rest of the delicious creations from the OCC Design Team.

The image is from the Lily and Billy Sweet Pea collection, the Designer Paper, Debbie Mumm from creative imaginations. I used artichoke as the card base and a Stampin' Up! Rubon for the sentiment.

Enjoy your Saturday !!!

Sneak Peek Day Three-Take a Pill!

So, how has your weekend been? Mine's been pretty uneventful...........kind of wet and rainy here, so apart from a quick trip to Costco, I've been lazing about in my jammies and stamping! Watching the dishes pile up and dodging the dust bunnies! OUCH, I think one just bit me. So, after I get this post completed, I'm going to clean!

It figures that I have to clean when the sky has just opened up to a brilliant blue this morning. I suppose I could leave things for another day, but tomorrow's monday and I really SHOULD clean.................no, I WILL CLEAN.........they say that affirmations make things happen........wish the darned affirmations could run the vacuum cleaner!

I will reward myself greatly with a trip to see Willie Nelson and Billy Bob Thorton play at the KROCK centre tonight! Haven't been to a concert in our new facility and I am pretty excited to see Willie, believe it or not! He is an amazing song writer and has a very interesting voice to say the least.........a country Icon and well Billy Bob Thorton has that sizzlin' bad boy thing going on . I love him in movies and I hear he is quite the musician!

Introducing Dr. Happy...............well that's not his real name, but since he's handing out some pills, I thought that was a suitable name. Actually I think they are smarties...............oh yeah and for my american friends, Smarties are milk chocolate coated candies, somewhat like M&M's but with a milkier tasting chocolate. In Canada, the candies that our U.S. friends calls Smarties are called Rockets...............yum, I like those too!!! Especially the Yellow ones!!! Make your teeth ring! Okay, now I am having a SUGAR craving.......thanks a lot!!!!..oops.........guess it's my fault!!!

Oh yeah, about the card...........Dr. Happy..........Happy cause he's prescribing Smarties! The Images are from the Dr. Hanna set!! Cute eh??? I used Basic Gray, Basic Grey Marakesh DP and More Mustard................coloured with copics and embellished with a little floral punch and some SU creamy caramel buttons threaded with linen thread. I had a hard time keeping the ribbon off this card. For some reason to me a card without ribbon is like wearing a really great outfit without a good bra!!! LOL!!!! Okay, think it's time to get dusting, I'm getting a little carried away.

Check the sidebar to see the other great creations from our Talented Hanna Girls!!!!

Happy Stamping, Cleaning..........hmmm nope, cleaning is not a happy thing! Well just enjoy your day!!!

See you Tomoz!

The Talented DT have some sweet samples for you as well, click on the links on the sidebar to see more peeks!!!

For this card I used Basic Grey's Marakesh Collection. I really like the rich colours in this paper pad. One of the things I really love about Basic Grey is the 6x6 pads and the way they scale the image to the paper size. Perfect for cardmaking!

Happy Stamping and I'll see you tomoz with another peek at what's in store for Monday!

New Hanna's are in the house!

Release week at Hanna Stamps is always a blast. The uber talented design team always have great sneak peeks for you and on Monday the 9th of April, we'll have a fun release party over in the member forum.

This image is from the Mommie's to be set, one of several images of expectant mother's. She happens to be my favourite image from the set.

I wanted to keep this card clean and simple, with an emphasis on the image, so using minimal layers and no designer paper seems to have assisted in achieving that effect. I used Certainly Celery Cardstock, with Brilliant blue as a complimentary colour. I filled my image in with copic markers, shading the middle of the sunflowers with different levels of brown and then dotting with black and white to make them look more realistic. I love the way that Candice Lighty, one of my DT sisters blends some colour outside of her images, so I gave it a try.......... I like the effect. Some Prima Flowers, Organdy Ribbon and a few dewdrops give the card a fresh spring look...........speaking of spring, I think it's arrived..it's been raining like crazy this week and everything is starting to look nice and green. Ahhh just the way I like it..........no snow and trees budding!!!

The sentiment is a $$ stamp from M's

Our Guest Designer for May is Michelle. You can see her amazing creations HERE

I can't seem to link to Splitcoast this morning, but hop on over to the Hanna Member Forum to see what's happening. You can also access the design team by following the links on my side bar!

Stampotique!!!!! I love the Goth!!!

These are two of the awesome new images from Stampotique!!!! Had to keep may card clean and simple for this one. I love the Goth Castle! Although in this card, it makes a cool background for Mort had a pincurl.......yes, that's his name............Mort had a pincurl!!!! That just cracks me up!!!
lol!!!! LOL!!!

Oh yeah, what was I saying, sidetracked again!!!! I think the castle would make a very pretty Christmas Card! Anyway, running late so don't have much more to say about this card except that I coloured with several shades of warm grey on the tower and sponged the background with River Rock, Creamy Caramel and Blue Bayou

You can find a lot of Fresh and new images at STAMPOTIQUE

Check it out!!!

Pink Cat Challenge-Mariska's Challenge

I'm back with the Pink Cat Studio Challenge card. The challenge was hosted by Mariska and was called either/or. The first choice was to make either a Baby Card or a Birthday Card. I made a Baby Birthday Card!!!! lol

The second part of the challenge was to either use stitching or layer your images (like Paper tole). I chose to do the stitching........most real, but a little faux as well. I used paper from DCWV Nursery Stack for Boys, Certainly Celery and Lovely Lilac Card Stock. Nesties and SU! Punches for the sentiment and grounding later................

Well best get going as I have to be at work early today! If you want to play the challenge, look HERE

Happy Stamping!

P.S. Hanna Peeks start Friday!
