Paper Romance Challenge #6- Let's get our glitter on!

Before I share the details of this week's challenge I am so happy to share that last week's winner of the $5 gift certificate was......
Wendy Ramlakhan

Congratulations Wendy! Please email Amy for your gift certificate information.

What a great time to shop for some favourite rubber images as The Paper Romance online store currently has a sale on all new High Hope images and Your Next Stamp images. YNS images are now also available in cling mount! No code needed for this sale as the prices have already been marked down.

This week's challenge is brought to you by Andrea. Since I've copied her post ( I just had surgery yesterday and although I am recuperating well, I am tired and so you can read her words 'cause she layed out some fabby text! ) I am currently a guest designer for Paper Romance and I am loving it! Not only do I get to play with some of the sweetest and hottest images out there BUT I also get to hang out with some of the coolest stamping ladies around! I want to give my personal shout out to some new guest designers whose work I have admired for a long time- Frances aka Stamp Owl and Melanie Holtz. Already I am drooling over their creations as I do the other Paper Romancer's cards.

Okay, now back to the challenge! It's an easy one- just add glitter! That's right- let your inner bling shine baby! If you play along this week, you could be the winner of a $5.00 Gift Certificate to Paper Romance! Just link your card below, and if you're loading into an online Gallery, use the keyword PRC6.

For my creation, I used the sunflower Buggies, a New Release from High Hopes Stamps.....you can see them HERE

Kay, I'm off for a nap.........but check the rules and follow the sidebar to see the Sweet DT's creations!

Here's the skinny on the rules................

On Mondays, I drag my butt, but Dwight Doesn't!!

In my many years of living, I still haven't solved the mystery of why weekends pass SO much faster than weekdays! It seems it was JUST Friday and I was thinking about all that I was going to accomplish this weekend and BOOM, now it's Monday Morning and about the time you are reading this post, I'll be just dragging my bottom out of the shower and thinking about what to wear to work!

Dwight is NOT like me...........every day to Dwight is a weekend! I suppose if I was perched on a toadstool blowing bubbles, I wouldn't care what day it was either! Isn't he the cutest? A High Hopes Image, you can find Dwight at Amy's Paper Romance. She has a whole bunch of new stuff to check out as well while you're over there!

Dwight is reminding me to smile and remember there are worse things than Mondays, 'cause if not for Mondays, there'd be no Fridays!!!! So smile this fine Monday Morning!

I used a wee bit of Crystal Effects on his Bubbles to make them look a little more realistic!

Got REALLY ambitious and decorated the inside of the card!

Supplies:

Stamps: Dwight the Dragon, Amy's Paper Romance
It's your Birthday-SU!

Paper: K&Co. DP, Artichoke Cardstock
Accessories: Copic Markers, Making Memories Metal Words, 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon, Nestabilities, Crystal Effects

Pucker Up!

This is a fun card that I created for a High Hopes Challenge from a week or two ago. The challenge was to use some sponging on the card. I have my Dragon in the clouds, blowing out the candles on his Birthday Cake. I sponged in the clouds using a punched out scalloped circle punch as a template.

I coloured the image with copics , cuttlebugged the cardstock layers for some dimension and added some dots just for good measure..............well I better run, I'm in a bit of a rush this morning!!!!!

Have a wonderful day!!!!

High Hopes Challenge #17 Sketch Challenge

High Hopes Stamps has a wonderful Sketch Challenge this week. If you want to play Hop on over to their Blog to see the sketch and beautiful samples from their super talented Design Team.

I loved the sketch and decided to do two cards, one on the masculine side, the other a little more feminine.

Isn't Ace, just the coolest creature!!! I LOVE Dragons......I was born in the year of the Dragon actually and have collected some very cool Dragon "stuff" over the years. I coloured him with Copics of course, and used some white Gel pen for highlights. I cut him out and mounted him on some old old DP that I had in a kids pack from Provocraft. I wanted him to look like he was on the Airborne side.....lol. THe base colours for the Cardstock are Kiwi Kiss, Chocolate Chip and Not Quite Navy. Believe it or not, the messy stitching was planned. I wanted a bit of a rough and tumble look to this card. I added some Crystal Effects to his Aviator Glasses to make them look.....well like glass!!!! You can't really see it in the photograph, but in real life it is quite neat.....c'mon over, you can take a peek and make you a cup of tea!

I chose a monochromatic Theme for Huggable Hank. Purple, Purple, Amethyst and more Purple. Did I ever mention that Purple is my Favourite Colour? Yep, just to look at....... and for cards and all my favourite flowers are purple......Hydrangeas, Lilacs, Crocus and Iris. I almost bought a purple Mustang once, but the deal fell through!!!

Anyway I used some SU Designer Paper for this Card, along with Whisper White and Lovely Lilac Cardstock, The Little Balloon Candle is recycled from my Ex Husband's Birthday Cake......yep, I baked him a cake last week.........imagine that!!!! lol I coloured with Copics and used White Gel Pen for an accent!!!!!

Hope you have a great day!
