Christmas Stamping Quick and Easy!

Debbie, our hostess this week, brings you this fabulous Sketch Challenge. The challenge was to use Patterned paper on the bottom of the card and embossed paper on the top. I cheated a little with this preembossed paper from Kan Ban Crafts! I always tend to go to this folder when I have slacked off and have to make a card quicks!!!! Yikes!!! this one went together in less than 10 minutes, but I must say that I am quite pleased with the results!!!!

Isn't this image gorgeous? All off the elements on the card are from KanBan Crafts, with the exception of the SU! Ribbon!!!!
Don't forget to hit the sidebar to see all the great DT creations!!!!
Happy Stamping~!

It's time for Christmas! Sankari's Snowman Challenge

If you were reading my last post, you'll know that I went on a wee shopping spree! Funny, when I was packing for my girlz weekend, I had to limit the amount of DP I was bringing as I probably couldn't have fit it all in the Trunk of my Mustang! Hmmmm maybe I should have kept my Truck or traded it in for a Cube Van! Well, that may be a slight exaggeration, but with all the gear that we carted up to Jen's this weekend, I knew that I needed to be frugal in my packing!

Thank goodness I only filled that container half full, because after my wee paper frenzy on Thursday, I had to sit on the lid to get it to close down! Which brings me to today's Christmas Card Challenge ( you knew I'd get to that eventually.......I just seem to take you along the scenic route to get to the heart of the matter, the card, the CARD!)

This card, with the exception of the chipboard sentiment (which came in one of the Other ...scenic route paper packages that I purchased.............It was on SALE and then the Store had a sale, so I couldn't possible pass that up!) is made from the Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly Line. It's very vintagy and the colour combinations are faboo!

The card worked up quickly as I used one patterned paper.........you can see both sides in this card. I cut along the curve of the pink pattern to create an interesting layout (well I hope you think it's interesting..........now pull your head up off your keyboard and take a look...........no more snoozing while visiting my blog!)

I mounted the Snowman Stickers onto dimensionals to give it some dimension ;-P and added a little glitta for effect! I didn't bring too much ribbon on this road trip, so I dug into Jax's stash and got some of this retro looking ribbon for my card.

How are your Christmas Cards coming along?

Hop on over to the Christmas Blog to see what the girlz have been up to!

Maria is adding an additional challenge each Thursday, if you really want to step things up! I hope to play along at some point when things slow down a bit.

Well, as you're reading this, I should be on my way back home! I am predicting that I will have had a wonderful weekend and will be in need of some catch up sleep!

Happy Stamping!

I'm late, I'm LATE!!!! CSAYL

Yes, late is the theme for today!!!! I actually had my card complete and ready to go last night, but unfortunately my computer has not been very cooperative as of late and the internet went down just as I was about to post. I was planning on getting up REALLY early today to make my post, but hmmmmmmmm yep, late!!! The alarm went off at 5:30 a.m. and I lay there thinking I would drift through one song and then get up................NOPE! Half an hour later I woke up. I guess that if I REALLY want to get up on time, I'll have to set the alarm to the Screaming Sound that would rise anyone from their bed while risking cardiac arrest from the shocking sound!
Anyway, I was almost talking myself out of going to the gym this morning with the excuse that I had to make this post. As you know, i've been on Vakay for the last couple of weeks and all my routines and good eating habits went out the window, so I was really committed to getting back on track today~
So I did get to the gym, was running late and missed getting there early enought to do my cardio before swim, but managed to slip into the pool (Gracefully of course........think Esther Williams........and if you're going HUH??? well you're just young! lol) in time for Aqua fit!
After being in the water for a few, I started to think that I was missing something........hmmm did I fully pack my bag for work??? Ohhh I hope that I didn't forget my undergarments.......oh well, just focus on the class Vicki.....splash splash!!!
Sure enough, the essentials were not in my bag!!!! Had to make a trip home to ensure that I was dressed appropriately for work, which of course made me late!!!!.....................and If I ramble on any more here, I'll be late getting dinner on too!!!!
The Challenge this week, hosted by Debbie is to decorate your card inside and out. This seems to be quite trendy lately! I chose to make a gift card holder.

On Saturday, Kristi treated me to a Prism class taught by Paula Williamson! All I can say is WOW!!!! Paula is one talented lady! I totally learned a lot from her, so thanks Kristi and Paula......it was a real treat! Check out Paula's BLOG . Her work is AMAZING!!!!!

So I played with the Prism's on this image........not totally please with my work, but the image was pretty small (excuses, excuses!) and I am looking forward to going at it again!!!!

The image is an Elzybell that was carried by amuse. I coloured with Prism Pencils, blended with Gamsol and Sponged with Versamark Chalk Ink. The Cool Clear Snowflakes are from Heidi Swapp and the Snowflake on the inside of the card is from a Dollar Store. Ribbon, sentiment and hardware from Stampin' Up!

Head on over to the CSAYL Blog to see the Awesome Creations! Hope you'll play along!

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Week week 10

Once again, Maria has given us a fabulous sketch to work with this week. You'll see it just below and noticed that I played with it a wee bit. I found the Ribbon to be a bit top heavy, so I flipped it to have the ribbon on the bottom and I moved the brads to the other side.

Like Lovely as a tree, this image to me, is rather timeless. It is an image that is from the Stamp Barn in Ottawa Ontario. I coloured it in with my Copic Markers. I would list all the colours for you, but I find I just use so many on each image, sometimes up to three colours in the same value for shading, so I must say I am rather lazy about listing them. Anyway, I used my white gel pen to create a little snow................EWWWW did I say SNOW???? Please, no more snow..... I am keeping my fingers crossed that we don't get anymore anytime soon.......at least not until next winter! I cuttlebugged the soft sky background layer with a snowflake template and used Night of Navy and Purely Pomegranite as complimentary colours!

I initially had no sentiment on the card as I wanted the focal point to be the image, but it seemed a little bare, so I added a SU Rub on directly onto the Pomegranite Ribbon. I wasn't sure how it would adhere, but I must say that I find that SU Rubons are just like butter and probably one of the best rubons that I have ever used.

Here's the sketch if you want to play along! Also, don't forget to follow the Link to Christmas Stamping to see all of the other faboo designs!!!

Before I go, I have a little Public Service Announcement to share

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - Week Five

This week, Maria not only had a sketch challenge for us, but a colour challenge as well! The challenge, to use pink, purple and blue on the card! Now that is a colour combo that in my opinion is a little tricky, but it looks like the Design Diva's stepped up to the plate to create some Gorgeous Cards!

I decided to let Pink take the forefront in my card. I seem to have a thing for using Valentine Paper on my Christmas Cards lately! I stamped the main image on and used K&CO Valentine paper for the main panel.

This is Noelle from Stampotique. She is a eccentric and Beautiful Girl, in the mood for some Festive Spirit. I like stamping these images onto light coloured DP and then I just use a little marker to fill in large blank areas or to shade. I embossed some small snowflakes around the main image as well as sponged the edges for added depth. In order to fulfill the sketch requirement, I used Heidi Swapp Clear Snowflakes to the upper and lower corners for a subtle look.

I stamped the sentiment and punched it out, using the SU! word window punch. I then sponged the edges for some depth and mounted it onto th emain image. I used Provocraft Snowflake Border, Martha Stewart Border punch and snowflake Cuttlebug to create the borders under the main image. A touch of Metallic Ribbon completes the look.

Follow the link on my sidebar to see what delicious eye confection the Design Diva's have in store for you this week!!!!

Enjoy your day and don't forget to check out the enchanted Lily Release!

Christmas Stampin' All Year Long - Week Four

I am pleased to share another gorgeous sketch with you this week. My Gosh, Maria is so talented!!!! In addition to the sketch, the challenge was to use a snowman image on the card. This image is from Rachel Anne Miller. I used it to do some bulk Christmas Cards this past Christmas and it's quite pretty!

I embossed the image with versamark and heated Silver embossing powder. I filled in some areas with a light shading of Copic Markers. The Paper is actually Valentine's DP from Bo Bunny Press, but I thought it looked pretty sweet for a Christmas Background as well. Kiwi Kiss and Pomegranite Paper and Ribbon, finish the look of this whimsical Christmas Card.

Would you like to play along? Follow the link to the Website on my Sidebar. Want more Christmas Inspiration?? Click the links for the Christmas Stamping Designers..... I have had a peek at some of the designs and they are GORGEOUS!!!!!!

I'll see you all on Friday with My Hanna Stamps Challenge. I'm off to Toronto for a business meeting.....hmph........my Real work getting in the way of my stamping!!!! Well, actually I am quite excited for having been chosen to attend this working group weekend and having a few days in the City!!!!

Happy Stamping
