Impression Obsession Designer Challenge-Happy Easter

Good Morning and Happy Spring!!!!

Although it was a little chilly here yesterday, it truly felt like spring.
The sun shining strong, melting the last of the ice and snow; the wind whistling and whirling bringing us a fresh breath

I was working at home yesterday and I'm sure Sydney had Spring Fever as she bugged me every hour on the hour to go outside. Needless to say, we had a few good walks!

This week we're featuring Easter cards over at IO Stamps!!!!

Today I'm featuring a couple of Easter dies

I used the Marvelous Mask Ovals Stencil to create the background with

I'm not the best with Silhouette Stamps, but I think this little guy turned out nice!

Dying to share my Die Cut Obsession

Good Morning!!!!

I know I'm a touch late for the party, but I didn't want to post these pictures early because this one is for a St. Patricks Day Swap I did with my besties and while I was at it, I created Two Birthday cards for two dear dear friends who both turned 60 this week!!!!

These are the stamps and dies I used for the project~

This card is for my dear friend Kim.

s one i

I would have never been blessed with her friendship had I not been introduced to stamping!
Kim actually lives about 4 hours east of me, but we often craft together via Face time and she, along with some other special ladies up that way are so dear to my heart!!! I think she might see this here before she actually see's it for real as I don't think it arrived in her mailbox by Friday!!!

This one if for our friend Colleen, who really is like family!

We were a little younger then!!! (Yep, I wasn't eligible to wear a Red Hat !!)

She is Beautiful inside and out!!!

I love the Shadow clover stamp!
I just stamped it, cut it out and then distressed it a bit!
The little gold nuggets are just Rhinestones from the Dollarama!!!

I really love how these turned out,

As much as I {heart} the women who are receiving them!

Is Spring coming?

With Spring upon us, I was inspired to play in my art Journal. I  totally LOVE the  Spring Ring Stencil and I can see myself using it over and over.

Anyway, I decided to make a little bit of a background using the  Mid Century Birds Stencil
Once I got this in, I put the Spring Ring in the middle of the page and started using various inks to colour it in. . Then I traced the outer circle and added in my pattern to make it the focal point of my page...... Then I had an OOPS!!!
A BIG OOPS

A Huge smudge on my page from my arm, which I dragged through the ink.....initially I was SO bummed!!! but THEN......

I dipped my arm in the ink again and again and again and created the additional pattern on the bottom of the page, which I think looks pretty cool. I'm just glad the colour coordinated with my page!!!!

I can't wait to play a little more with these stencils and the rest of the new release~~~~~

Have an amazing day!!!

Technique Junkies Stamps March Release

Good Morning!!!

Welcome to Technique Junkies Stamps March Release

Pat is releasing some amazing images this month~

Today I'm sharing a few images with you starting with the Butterfly Beauty Stamp.
I'm going on an amazing adventure in April and wanted to create a fun Travel journal to record my trip and save some Ephemera.

I got very ambitious and made a video for you!!!!

Yes, I did........editing video's is very new to me, so in the midst of trying to upload it I managed to delete the files and well....... I could cry because I had a couple of hours into the process.

Well, if at first you don't succeed, try try again!!!

Next time lovelies!

This is the back.....

I LOVE this Wildly Capable Sentiment.
This stamp is not available for purchase until April; HOWEVER it can be yours for free with a $30.00 purchase for the month of March!!! How cool is that~~~

I didn't get as fancy with the inside of my Journal, but again I added a little sentiment for inspiration and one that pairs well with the Butterfly Stamp. It's called Brave Enough to Fly

Here's how I made it!!! It's quite a long video, but I did manage to edit it down substantially from the original 93 minutes!!! lol.....

Here'e my second share for today!!!!
HOw about this A-Dorable.....Absolutely A-Dorable  made with the Pretty Pots background stamp
I coloured the card with my Prisma Pencils, blending with Gamsol.
I made a little cavern in the midst of the card with a stitched square die and also created a little frame.
I stamped the Stay Humble Sentiment
It looked a little stark, so I got a little light gray ink and used the Sketched Tulip image to give it a little more dimension

I hope you enjoyed my shares for today. Be sure to check out the designer blogs to see all the projects

Impression Obsession - Old is new 3- Have a drink on me

Good Morning!!!

We're featuring oldies but goodies at IO stamps today!!!!

These images have been around for quite awhile, but I quite like this stippled style of Gail Green's older images

For my card, I used  the Wine Bottle and Drink images, colouring them in with Prisma Pencils and Blending with Gamsol.

For the background, I stamped the Nature Cover a Card onto kraft paper. I distressed around the edges a touch and then assembled it.

IO stamps Die Cut Obsession 3

Good Morning!!!!

Today I'm wishing lots of luck and love with this fun St. Patty's Day card!!!

This was just a matter of cutting a bunch of shamrocks, inking them up a bit to add dimension to the die cuts and assembling them around the sentiment! I added a wee gold clover just for good measure

Happy Birthday Beautiful Lady aka Mom!

79 years ago, one of the most special ladies arrived in the world. A beautiful baby, destined to become a beautiful woman, inside and out!!!!

I always love to create a special card for Mom, because like her Mother, she appreciates the cards so much!

Here she is with her Aunt and Uncle, who will be celebrating 71 years of marriage this month!!!!
She is loving and caring with family~

Mom is a loyal friend who would do anything for those she cares about. She can be a little hard headed and isn't afraid to let her opinion be known, although it can be harsh; most that know her, realize her heart is in the right place and just like we all have some flaws, so does she. Beauty without some degree of imperfection seems synthetic. Mom is real in all that she is and all that she does!

Whether we're just having a little roadtrip, or exploring the world together, we are making memories that won't be forgotten. Even though we might spat a little or scare the crap out of each other in the middle of the night (Remember Grenada? lol) I fondly cherish each place we have explored together.

Even in the rainy moments......

You are my sunshine!!!

You are my Joy

 My best friend

I am proud to have an incredible relationship with you
Blessed that you are my mother
and grateful for all you are and all you do

With Love,

Impression Obsession- Old is new 2

Good Morning!!!! I've created today's card with a clear set and a cover a card stamp I haven't used in awhile.

I don't really care to make sympathy cards, but if we are to offer condolences, I like to make a hand made card. This one is for a family friend who has lost his Father. It is always sad to lose a loved one, but Mr. Slack was blessed to live 102 years. 102 years and one day to be exact. I would say he certainly has earned his wings. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his Son Doug.

IO Designer Challenge-In the pink {with a little red ;) }

Good Morning!!!
Hope you're enjoying a fine day today!!!!

This week, we're featuring pink cards for our designer challenge!

Of course, I LOVE the way Hot Pink pairs with red, so I really couldn't resist!!!

For my card, I used the following stamps and dies

To make this card I cut the conversation hearts out in two colours: Red an Pink
I cut a negative heart space in the centre of the white cardstock
I mounted the white cardstock to a pink background with foam tape to give it dimension.
I stamped the sentiments onto the cardstock before cutting it out.
I selected the bunch of hearts I wanted to use on the card and glued them into the heart cavities I created in the white cardstock.....hmmmm that just makes me sound like a paper surgeon doesn't it? hehe!!!!

Lastly, I added a pink frame around the heart dies: I did that by cutting out the leftover space where I cut the pink hearts originally. There is a nice border on the stamp that allows you to line up the die accurately and cut a frame!!!

Lastly, I cut the love arrow die from some adhesive backed shimmery paper I found at the dollar store the other day?
Does anyone else go into the dollar store and come out many dollars poorer?

The card was easy peasy and cute I think!!!!!

Die Cut Obsession 2- At the Beach

The background was completed with Tim  Holtz Distress Oxide Inks and the following Stencils from A Colourful Life Designs:

Venturing into Videos!!!

https://youtu.be/Yug75lE3Svg
Videos seem to be all the rage today. With the exception of a couple of facebook live and quick videos on phone apps, I been a little nervous to do videos.
So, I took the plunge yesterday and made my first video.

Recording the process was the easy part. I had to clean off my space, but once that was done, I organized myself to have everything available to me.

I was sure that was going to be the most complicated thing, but NOPE...!!

Just a tip for you. If you plan to make a video for the first time, it's probably a good idea to make it with a project that you want to post well in advance of having to post it.
Do you think I could figure out how to edit the 25 minute video down to a reasonable chunk of time?
I spend quite a bit of time watching videos to see how to edit videos.

But even before THAT, I made a little boo on the card when I decided to go in and add a little more blue to the background. Rather than pause the video, I shut it off. Did I mention that I thought it would be a good idea to use my old iphone to make the video?
Not so much, it didn't have enough memory and only captured the first five minutes. Anyway I"m jumping all over the place here. So I made a boo boo with this card and so I'll have to tell you how I fixed it later in the post!!!
So here goes!

I will say it really is quite a process and I think it's really not all that difficult; however give yourself some time to figure it all out!!!!

This video is FAR from perfect, but so am I.
I'm posting it not because it's wonderful, but it is complete and just shows my determination to get it done!!!! I know each video will show improvement and thus I will be able to track my progress!!!

So after I finished the video and had a little boo boo on the edge of the circle, I decided to come in with the Simple Mosaic Stencil

Technique Junkies February Release Celebration

Good Morning!!!!

You will be delighted to see all the awesome images Pat is releasing today at Technique Junkies Stamps!

My first project features the Rose Frame Stamp!!!!

Isn't it Beautiful? I coloured it with Copic Markers and then used a Gold Nuvo Glitter Marker to create the frame. I intended to make a card, but then decided I loved the image and wanted to keep it for myself. So. I created a page to put on the inside cover of my day planner. I cut a piece of text patterned paper to size and used a couple of stencils on the background.
I then stamped the image here and there on the page, avoiding the border portion of the stamp.

I finished the Page by adding splashes of Gold Acrylic Ink!

I LOVE this new Sentiment Just Dreams
Who does say our dreams have to just stay dreams. Are Dreams not goals when driven into action?
It may require some effort, but one can bring their dreams into fruition with determination and effort. I'd chat more about that, but we have a stamp release to talk about!!!! So, before I get sidetracked again, let me share some details abotu this card.

Before stamping the Sentiment on the Panel, I created a soft backgroud with the

Isn't that shimmer soft, yet pretty?

I used the Peppermint Candy Stencil to create a soft background on the card
and Viola!!! , this clean and simple card is complete!!!! I LOVE it!!!!

IO stamps Old is New

Good Morning
They're not kidding when they say everything old becomes new again!

I am loving this new feature at IO stamps!!!!
It gives me the opportunity to revisit many of the stamps and sets I've stowed away!!!

On this blustery day, I was wishing for a cool spring day, the grass as green as the sweet frog peeking out from behind my card!!!

Can you see the wee bit of texture in the clouds?

I used the mesh Mesh Circles Cover a Card stamp with baby blue ink to create a little more texture
Next, I coloured the flowers, bunny and bicycle from the  Riding Pretty stamp set with my Copic Markers. I cut out the sweet little images with the accompanying  Bicycle Die Set.
I created the background for the card by softly sponging on the following ink

Then, I wanted some whispy grass, so I used the  Icicle Edger Die

The tree is from the Tree Frame Die, but I cut the frame part off!

I didn't want to add anything more to the front of the card, so I added the sentiment on top of a soft spring scene on the inside

I'm longing for a pretty spring day like this one!!! How about you?
