Flower Soft~Recipes for Friendship-Designer Challenge

Christmas came early last week when my Flower Soft Design Team kit arrived at my house!!! Yipppeeeeee I was thrilled with all the great goodies that came in my package and it wasn't on site about ten minutes until I had to get down with it and create!!!!

Today’s Flower Soft challenge is to use Flower Soft in a creative way

In addition to the fabulous Flower Soft, I also received a package of Flower Soft Recipes. These are fun toppers with preprinted images and sentiments that allow you to create projects in a Jiffy!!!

I decided that I needed to create a gift set with two of the images in the Recipes for Friendship Kit. I made the small Pizza Box, for which I found the Tutorial on Splitcoaststampers. This was quick and easy as well. I used a Nestabilitie to cut an octagonal shape around my image and sponged some soft sky and celery ink around the image. I used some Ultrafine Flower soft in Strawberry to add some dotted dimension to the bag and hair bows and some UF Toffee for the bear. A Little Shamrock to the grass..... and Viola! That was done in a flash!

I wanted to continue to experiment with my new colours and didn't want to repeat the same pattern, so for creative part of the challenge on my card I used some Shamrock and Ultrafine Raspberry Fizz to create the little bushes! In addition, I added some Lilac to her little hair bows!

I had lots of fun machine stitching the Red border.........hehe.........so much fun that I stitched and Stitched and stitched to create a shabby border. I'm lovin' that Polka dotted Ribbon too! I'm sure you've seen it here before and I need to order some more as I've just about used it all up!

Make sure and check out the Flower Soft girl’s cards!

Did I mention I'm lovin' my Flower Soft?? Can't wait to play and share some more soon!

Happy Stamping or should I say Happy Sprinklin'?

Stamp N Plus Tuesday!

I'm sharing my first Blog post as a member of the Stamp N Plus Scrap N Blog Team. I'm excited to share some fun images with you and will have some projects each Tuesday featuring the company's stamps. If you haven't entered yet, see my blog post for Sunday, that features the Mega Blog Hop! I really went out of the box creatively for this card! If you've been following me, you'll know that I'm partial to a lot of colour and cutesy images!

Last month, LuAnn, the owner of Stamp N Plus challenged us to make some black and white cards. I had asked her for some wild animal images.........which she has a great selection of in her online store. She indicated that she would send them along and in addition was sending me a few images that I could experiment with. Anyway, I have to say that I had fun creating this card and was fairly pleased with the results considering this is not the norm in regard to my stamping style.

I used Coredinations cardstock as a base for card, which allowed me to cuttlebug and sand off the bottom border to create a distressed look. I stamped the main image in black and the faces in dark grey ink, however I stamped off on scratch paper first to ensure that the background faces didn't over power the main images. You can find these altered art images HERE

I added some additional grey sponging to fill in the light spots on the Top Note Die, A Prima Flower and some silver embellishments to complete the funky look!

Hope you liked this project................waiting for a HUGE order of Tim Holtz distress inks to arrive........I want to start to experiment with some techniques............

I'll be back next Tuesday with another Project from Stamp N Plus Scrap N

Happy Stamping!

Totally Stampalicious Monday Challenge

I'd just like to remind everyone about the AWESOME Blog Hop that Totally Stampalicious will be having to launch our release of our newline of Bugaboo Stamps!! The hop starts at 9PM EST Thursday April 22nd and once again we'll be giving away some really fun prizes!!!

And now for this weeks fun challenge!!!

I came up with a really fun color combo for us to play with:
Chocolate
Caramel
Not Quite Navy (Dark Teal)

To win a fun prize, be sure to go to the Totally Stamplicious Blog and link your creation there!

For my card, I used the cake from the Old Brawd Digital Stamp set. This allowed me to upsize the cake to a good size to create a larger focal point. I coloured the cake in with Chocolate and Teal coloured Copics and added a touch of Jellyroll Stardust pen to give the candles a little shimmer.

For the Faux Leather Look (the background reminds me of a handmade leather purse I had once) I ran the Caramel paper through my cuttlebug and then went direct to paper with my ink pad to create darker colour on the embossed areas. It's a quick and easy way to bring dimension to your projects!!!

Well after being home last week with the flu, i'm off to work again! Hope you all enjoy your day!

Happy Stamping!

Crazy4Challenges #33 It's a sketch!

This week, our challenge is sponsored by Amy's Paper Romance! I'm excited 'cause I'm very proud to be a part of her Design Team! Amy carries a large selection of High Hopes Stamps as well as Popcorn Bear, Your Next Stamp and Crafter's Companion in addition to many fun accessories!

This little fella, Raindrops Ribbit is a High Hopes image!!! Oh my gosh, I {heart} this sweet little guy! I coloured him in copics. As you can see, I like to leave a little white space around the edges of the petals for some contrast. I used a little stickles on the raindrops for a shiny dewy look! I cuttlebugged the olive section with a Paisley embossing folder. Sentiment is also from High Hopes! DP is Jillibean dbl sided! I like the mix of the two patterns!

Here's a picture of the sketch that you can follow to play along!

If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C33. Don't forget to go back to the C4C site and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too and of course to see what my sweet Crazies have been up to in their stamping palaces.

This is my second post for today, so pls check out my Krafty Girls challenge below

Hugs~

Kraftin' Kimmie's Saturday Challenge #25-For the Boys

Super Talented Krafty Girl Melanie has challenged us to create a masculine card this week! Fun! I have a tendency to make more feminine cards, so masculine is good! I think Gone Fishin' is the perfect image for this theme! Huck and Lady are in for a fun filled day at the Fishin' hole on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

this card was fairly quick and simple to create. I coloured the image with many copics adding road in with warm greys and some blades of grass! The DP is from Jillibean and the Base cardstock is from Prism and has just a wee hint of green, but closely matches the buff colour of the polka dots. The punch is from Martha Stewart and the Big Brads from DCWV. You won't want to miss the rest of the Krafty Girls creations........and make sure you check out Melanies blog to see what stamp one lucky player who inks up their Kimmie stamps will win this week!

Happy Stamping!

Our Craft Lounge Sketch Challenge #8

I created this card for the Friday Sketch Challenge over at Our Craft Lounge. I'll keep it short and sweet today as I have a nasty flu bug and just pretty much dragged myself out of bed to do a quick post. The focal point of the card is the sentiment, which is from the Say it Big Clear Stamp set. You can find out where you can purchase this set by visiting Our Craft Lounge.

I've had these pre made cards kicking around my cupboard forever! They're from We R Memory Keepers Boho Chic Collection. I Cut up two or three cards to form the various layers in this card. I cut the sentiment out with my scalloped rectangle Nestie and sponged in with Rust Coloured Ink. The Ribbon was a coordinating ribbon for the Collection and the flowers are3 made with my new Tim Holtz Tattered Floral Die. This card was made for my sweetheart...who'sBirthday was yesterday. Thank goodness I managed to get through the festivities before the flu bug hit, but I sure hope that I didn't make anyone else sick. Jon had been ill from Friday-Sunday and I was almost positive that I had managed to keep myself from cathing it.............NOT~
So if you'd like to play along with the OCL sketch, here are the deets (copied from the Lounge Blog)

You can even WIN A PRIZE – any one Our Craft Lounge stamp set of your choice. ONE WINNER will be selected for each MONTH. On the first of each month, we will select a winner for the previous month. This means that you could have four or five weeks to be able to participate. You can participate as many times as you would like. A random winner will be selected and posted on theon the first of each month.

Here are the rules:

  • use any Our Craft Lounge stamps that you wish – but you must use OCL stamps to be eligible to win the prize
  • link to your card/project at the bottom of this post using Mr. Linky – **be sure to link DIRECTLY to your challenge card – not a general blog or gallery link**
  • use the sketch as your basis – do whatever inspires you, but please base it on the sketch

If you upload to SCS, please use the Keyword OCLDT08.
