Crazy4Challenge Week 22-Life's like a Lollipop

Well, that can be up for a LOT of interpretation eh? But for me, Life is Like a Lollipop because essentially, life is SWEET! Yes, SWEET.............I'm pretty blessed to life a rather comfortable existence......... a roof over our heads, a good relationship ,black clothes on my back ;-p) food in our bellies and a job that I love! so life IS sweet! Even when i go through challenging or tough times (there's been a few over the years) It is SWEET to know that I can and have over come them! Life is Sweet and so is Landon!

Landon is a darling image from my friend Lori Boyd's Lollipop Collection! Our Challenge this week was to use Lollipops in our creations! Not necessarily the stamps, but lollipop paper, stamps embellishments. Well! The only lollipops I've got around are Lori's Lollipop Stamps!
You can purchase her line at Stamping Bella

Landon is coloured in Copics! I'm not sure where the DP hailed from, but it's cute eh? It was in a pile of DP's that I swapped out ..........note to self.........for future reference jot down the name of the manufacturer on loose dp! Please play along with us, we'd love to see your creations. Head on over to the Crazy4Challenge Blog for the scoop and to see what the Crazies have got for you this week!

Hugs and Love

Kraftin' Kimmie Challenge 15-Take a Peek (It's an Aperture Card!)

Take a peek and what do you see? Aperture cards are basically window type cards! This is our challenge week, brought to you by one of our Fabby Guest Kraftie's Melanie. Forget me not Fairy was perfect for me for this challenge. She's dancing on her pretty toesies !!!

I remembered to colour Miss Forget me not with Copics! I LOVE purple and don't use it often enough!

My awesome nestabilities allowed me to do the layered cutout and I found some Fabulous CTMH daisy type of flowers to match the Eggplant Paper. Daisy Cuttlebug was used to create some dimension on the white background and the DP in behind her is from BG!

Well as you're reading this I'm probably on the plane back home! I'm sure hoping that it's not too cold and that I can get myself adjusted to the time change and the cool weather

Take a peek at the Kraftie's blogs to see what they designed for you this week! If you check Melanie's blog and play along, you could win the image that she's been playing with this week!

Happy Stamping!

The Pink Elephant Challenge

Good Morning!! Well, either I'm enjoying some California sunshine, or up up to my hips in rain! Who knows, but I know either way, I'm having a good time! Today I'll be walking the show and hugging the stuffin' out of all my Long distance Girlfriends!

Ella is challenging us to a Recipe today: Use Pink, A BOW and some Polka Dots! Our Sponsor this week is Sassy Studio Designs! My goodness she has some Sweet and Sexy Digital Images!

This image is called Baby it's cold outside! One of the things I really love about Sassy Stamps are the pretty faces on the girls.

I used a combination of Prisma Pencils and Gamsol and Copics to colour this image. The Sweater and Scarf are in pencil, the rest in Copics. I like that you can combine mediums on an image! This was a very very simple card to make!

Hope you'll play along with TPE this week!

Happy Stamping!

C4C21 KK14 Oliver's in the Pink!

Today I'm doubling up my Kimmie and C4C Challenges again. Let's talk about Kimmie's Challenge First. Our Fabulous Guest Designer Donna really challenged us this week when she said "absolutely NO embellies!!!" No Ribbon, No Buttons, No Embellishments! WHAT???? eeeeeeek.......lol , I don't think I've made a card without Ribbon since Carter had Liver Pills. What was I to do............my guy calls me Button.....because more often than not, you'll find at least one button on my card (oh yeah and he thinks I have a button nose!). Soooo I had to put on my thinking cap.........hmmmmmmm what to do. What to do!!!! Yes Donna, it was a great challenge!!! If you spend much time around me and know me well, you will know that I am a THINKER.........sometimes this is a good thing, sometimes not so much! I can over process things TO death!!! Any in this case it was a great thing! I loved the challenge 'cause it required me to think!! If you want to play along with us the key word would be KKSC14 and you can link up your card over on Kimmie's Challenge BLOG. One lucky winner will receive the stamp that Donna uses on her creation.........you'll have to take a gander over to her blog to see as I'm prescheduling posts and haven't seen it yet!

And now for the C4C Challenge! Think Pink! Yep, Pink. Lori, our fabulous hostess for this month wanted us to use Pink in our creations. Our Sponsor over at C4C this month is the greeting farm! If you'd like to play along with this challenge, the Keyword is C4C12 and you can link up your card on the Challenge BLog.

Last but not least, check out my sidebar to see the Krafty Girls and C4C Crazies Creations!

Happy Stamping!

Off to CHA TOMORROW!!!!

Can you say EXCITED??? I am TOTALLY over the top EXCITED to be leaving for Socal tomorrow!!!! I can't wait to see my stamping friends, what's new in the industry and this year I'm going to DISNEY to ride the coasters with Knee Sock Betty!!!! hehe!

I've been scrambling to get things done this week and am almost ready! Have to tie a couple of loose ends up at work (nah, not literally for those of you who know what I do.........) finish packing and should think about leaving the house in some semblance of order.

Having a nice dinner with all my boys tonight, then back home and into bed at a decent time for a 6 a.m. departure!!!

I have a few posts prescheduled for the next week, so c'mon back! I'm hoping to get a chance to do a little blogging while I'm away, but since I don't have my own laptop, we'll see how that goes!

If you happen to be going to CHA and we haven't made contact, I'll be walking this year, not working, but feel free to text me at 613 331-5749

Just sharing a very simple, but I think pretty card that I made for my mom to give to a friend this week.. Actually, sadly I made two. This card is very quick to make. I think I had the two finished in less than 10 minutes. Sorry the pic is a little small. I must have screwed up in the sizing, but essentially all I did was make a mask with an oval nestie, sponge in some complimentary ink to create a background for the tree. I then stamped the Tree in Not Quite Navy and added the sentiment along with a border of white gel pen dots to give it some uniformity.

Kay, well I'm off now

Have a fabulous week and take some time to stamp!

Pink Cat Thursday! New Digi Release

Isn't this little fellow that Cat's Meow? I think so........just so darned cute and one of several Digital Images that Melissa is releasing over at Pink Cat Digi Studio today!

This was a fairly quick card to create. I find that Melissa's images colour up quickly and nicely! I used copics of course. For the Highlighting in the Flower, rather than using my blender to pull colour out, I coloured over the red with a light orange. I find that on reds, the light orange, ochres and even dark yellows can give that red a nice warm highlight. Sometimes when you simply pull the colour out on red, you end up with a drab, washed out pinky colour........So taht would probably be my little copic tip for the day.

The DT has some Gorgeous Samples for you to see today........why not go and take a peek!

Happy Stamping!

TSOLT02 Mix it up!

Today's Designer Challenge is to "mix it up". That is to combine Digi Images with Stamping! As i've said before, I love the convenience of using Digi Brushes! You can make some quick and simple cards in record time! For the Digi part of the Challenge, I created my background and sentiment in Digi, using the Daisies4You set from The {Stamps} of Life I then stamped the Daisy outline in Brown and cut the flowers out.

The whole card was finished in a Snap! If you'd like to play along, you can load your projects into the Stamps of Life Gallery, using the keywords TSOLT02 Take a look at my fellow Design Diva's to see what they've been cooking up for you!

Hope you'll play along!

Hay Babe!

Hehe! I giggled when I saw this new sentiment that matches Farmer Hawg from Totally Stampalicious! This week the Challenge is to create a Farm Themed Card. It's a challenge just for fun, but everyone's a winner, because you can purchase the Farmer Hawg set along with the sentiments this week for only $19.95

I coloured up Mr. Green Jeans.........yep, remember Captain Kanagaroo? Hehe! Evidently I'm taking a trip down memory lane this week with my reminisces about old.........REALLY old Television shows. I'm not much of a T.V. fan now, prefer spending time stamping but there was a time when I found T.V. entertaining! Now I don't find it very stimulating....too many reality shows for me! Although I stayed with the Flesh Tones for Mr. G.J., I added some dark shadows in Sand (E33) which I think turned out nice.

I'm not sure where the DP hailed from. I have a bad habit of having small pieces of paper laying around and I suppose I should mark them so that I can pass on the info to you, but I never seem to get a round tuit..........Hope you're having a Happy Monday......and yes, today I can say for sure it IS Monday!!! Did I mention that it's one of my favourite days of the week ;-p)
Apparently SO much that I'm rushing through Saturday and Sunday to get to it!

Don't forget to take a gander (yep, a gander.....that's what Farmer Green Jeans Hawg would do....or do you thing he'd mosey? ) over to the Totally Stampalicious Blog where you can see what the Delicious Designers have been doing~!

Happy Stamping!

The Pink Elephant Challenge 50

It's come to my attention that it's not Monday!!!!..........lol...not trying to rush my life away, just bogged down with tasks!!! Have a great SUNDAY and hope tomoz' even better!

Good Morning! Don't you just LOVE Mondays? Some people aren't partial to Mondays, but I like them! I see Monday Morning as a fresh start kind of day! Yes, I love the weekends and well Fridays are the BEST.......but Monday Mornings place me back into my routine, which allows me to keep some focus for the rest of the week. The best thing about Mondays? Well, they're one day closer to Friday.

This week, Robin has created a pretty cool sketch for us! I was very pleased to use Baby Fleur 1
from Stampotique as my main image. I just adore this wee character's Chubby knees!

I have a bit of a strange colour combination going here. It's Salmony pink with a periwinkle blue. Kind of pretty actually.

I coloured the wee lady in Copics and sponged in some Pink Grapefruit Versamagic ink around the image. The border punch is a new one that I picked up from Martha Stewart Crafts.
If you'd like to play along, please head on over to The Pink Elephant challenge blog and link up with us.

Happy Stamping!

Double Dog Dare ya!!!! Kraftin' Kimmie 13 and C4C 20 Challenges

I Love sketch challenges almost as much as I love colour challenges! This week I got the best of both worlds when I was able to combine the two. A good thing, because I'm coming down to the crunch getting everything done before I leave for CHA! This week over at Kraftin' Kimmies Challenge Blog Kimmie is the hostess and you can win a free image just for playing along! Be sure to visit the Challenge Blog to link your creations and if you're loading into SCS the keyword is kksc13. The Challenge is to use Pink, Red and Brown in your creation.......and if you like, an option is to use a heart on your card!

For the C4C Challenge, it's a sketch. I didn't have time to upload it, but if you pop over to C4C, you can get it there. The Sponsor for this week is The Greeting Farm. Unfortunately I don't have any of their stamps, but they sure are sweet!!!! You can link you challenge card up on the Blog so we can check out your creations. I'm attempting to have a look at the players cards, but unfortunately with all my time constraints, I find it hard to comment on them all given the huge number of players, which makes me extremely happy!!! I'm making an effort to comment on at least 20 per week.......that being said thanks so much for supporting our challenges and coming out to play with us.

Lavinia is one cool creature! I chose a salmon pink paper to coordinate with the colours in my Basic Grey Infuse DP! Coloured with Copics and the sentiment is Steampunk Sayings a full sentiment set, which coordinates with the Steampunk Characters released earlier this week!

Have a great weekend!

This Month TS is releasing the totally GLAM KITTY. I had a lot of fun colouring her and paper piecing her little dress! She reminds me a little of Josie and the Pussycats! Do you remember that cartoon......well probs not if you were young, but it was about a bunch of Kitty Rockstars!!!

I coloured Ms "Glam" ourpuss with copics..........I drew on the fishnet tights, 'cause I was feeling a little funky! I've had this DP around for so long, that I can remember from whence it came!

Anyway about my BLOG MAKEOVER!!!! WOWEEEEEEE I am totally stoked and impressed with Veronica over at VKDesignco. What a talented woman and so easy to work with.....I sent her a few ideas and I think she's done a fabby job of capturing my essence!

It was very funny because once my character was created, everything just totally fell into place and FAST!!!! Oh my gosh I have to say that it was well worth the wait! It seemed as if within a few emails, Veronica could sense what I wanted and I literally squealed with delight with each element she added. I must say that I'm one Happy Chicka this morning............

And check out my SIGGY! Now how COOL is that!!!!! If you're considering a blog makeover, I would highly recommend Veronica who does amazing work........ you can visit her site to see her many unique creations....... if you're waiting for a makeover, it might take a little time, but boy oh boy, it's well worth the wait!

Pink Cat Studio-New Release!

It's another exciting Digital Release over at Pink Cat Studio today!!! Oh my gosh! There are some cute cute images to play with!!! I am loving these sweet little pixies!!!

This card was REALLY fun to create. I started with Pink...trying to shade in variances of colour and my heart was looking like a gumball! Yeah, remember those Big Pink Pepto Bismolish Gumballs that tasted like Wintergreen? Yep........I like em.....they're candy, what's not to like..but really, I was looking to have a pretty heart, not a gumball. What i'm trying to say is that The Pink on Pink shading wasn't working for me So what I did was take was start with a base of RV02 and then came in with some Cerise RV06........shading with Strong Red R46 and blending it really well, creating a happy heart!

The little daisy punch is a new MS punch and the tiny heart embellies are dollar store finds!

Here are all the adorable images that are available today! Don't forget to check the DT sites to see some pretty pretty samples!

Happy Stamping!

Hello2You and Daisies4You

Good Morning!!! Hope you're all doing well! It's been FREEEEEZING cold up here. Damp and Cold. The kind of dampness that just seeps right into your bones........gee, do I sound OLD??? I don't remember feeling the cold so much as I have in the past few years. Not the wind on my face, or at the tips of my fingers; its's in my knee! It's almost as if I can predict a cold spell with the incessant throbbing in my left knee. I really shouldn't complain. When I was 18 and 23 respectively, I had to have surgery on that knee and was told that there were probably more to come. I feel quite blessed to ALMOST have doubled that age without further complication. My Point? When it gets like this outside, it's a perfect reason to stay inside with a nice cup of Green Tea and Stamp!

And have I been stamping! With CHA fast approaching, I've been scrambling to get my projects completed and prescheduled so that there will be something to read while I'm away! With it being so darned cold here, the thought of some California Sunshine and Heat (yes to me even 60 degrees is balmy!) is extremely attractive! Coupled with the fact that I will get to hang out for a whole week with some of the coolest people I know and anticipating some arranged meetings with more internet friends that I have yet to lay eyes on (Kerry, Kim, Suzanne, Terri and maybe you?) If you're heading out there, drop me a line and I'd love to meet you! I'll be walking the show this year, finding time to dip my toes in the Pacific and I'm looking for someone to ride the Roller Coasters at Disney!

I'm very excited to meet Stephanie Barnard, the owner of The {Stamps}of Life. She has given me this wonderful opportunity to work with her stamps and I feel the need to hug the stuffing out of her.......now if I go by her picture, she doesn't have a lot of stuffing to hug and there will be a lot more "stuffingless" chickas at CHA.......yep, hugging and shrieking seems to be a staple behaviour, along with picture taking, smiling and food! There is nothing bad to be said about spending time with Girlfriends. I'll be in pure estrogen Heaven! Just wishing that some of my Best Girls from Ontario were coming along with me (yep, you all know who you are.......Western Ontarioites!!!). Anyway, as I was saying I am very excited to meet Stephanie.

This month, in addition to HappyBday2You, Stephanie has releases three additional Stamp Sets: Daisies4You, Hello2You and abc4you.

These two cards are examples from the first two sets. I am very much enjoying working with Stephanies sets. As much as I LOVE to colour, I also love the convenience of creating clean and simple cards that don't require a lot of colouring. I like the clean and simple results that I get with her stamps!

I actually created the FRIENDS card using the Digital Brushes in the Daisies4You set, which made this a super fast card to construct. Apart from laying it out, I only had to add some clear glitter to the word Friends and add a little brad to the flower.

I used the sentiment and small flowers from the Hello2You set in addition to the Balloon from the HappyBday2You set in the creation of the second card. Just a little colouring on the Balloon and some shading with Cool Grey 1 to the left of the letters to create some dimension, a tiny prima and voila, a cute card in a snap!

Well, I think I've babbled on a little too much this morning............probably because I don't have to rush into work .........so I best get movin' and stamping!

Head on over to the Special Release Gallery at SOL to see some beautiful samples from all of the new sets!

Happy Stamping!
