C4C # 38 It's a Sketch

Hi everyone,

It is challenge time again! Sponsored by................................

This week our challenge is a sketch challenge. The sketch was created by our hostess for this week Cindy Haffner.
If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C38. Don't forget to come back here and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too.

For my card, I used the Magic of Pretend, available at the Stamping Boutique. I coloured her with Copics. Basic Grey's combination of Kioshi Paper worked perfectly with the colours in my image. The little Rhinestones are available at Paper Romance

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

Hop into Spring! Amy's Paper Romance Blog Hop!

If you are celebrating Easter this year, I hope you enjoyed your day yesterday. And if you don't celebrate Easter, I still hope you enjoyed your day! We had the BEST weather this weekend. I spent most of the weekend in my Bare Feet and Coatless! What a great feeling to feel the warm sun on your skin and drink in the smells of spring!

We started the day with an Egg Hunt yesterday! Even though the house is full of teenagers, they seem to forget their need to act mature and you could almost catch that glimpse of innocence again as they hunted for the eggs! We had a lot of fun hiding them, although I have to say at 7:00 a.m. (yes, there's an advantage to hiding eggs outdoors for teens........they don't get up so early, so we were able to sleep in a bit!).

With the weather forecasting temperatures in the mid 20's (c) , early in the week my mother and I decided to stray from the traditional Eater fare and go for a BBQ! We had Yummy Burgers, Dogs and Salads and it almost was reminiscent of a Canada Day Celebration as the boys ate outside. We enjoyed a nature walk in the Conservation area and tossing the football around the yard. As I write this post this morning, the day looks a little gray and cooler, but I know that summer is just around the corner!

Amy's doing some Spring Cleaning over at Paper Romance and is passing on
some sweet deals to you and we're having a blog hop to celebrate! Make sure you visit all the
DT's Blogs and leave some comments. One random winner participating in the Hop ( the winner could be from any of the blogs!) will win a $20.00 Gift Certificate to Paper Romance.

My Card today is made with the Cute Companions Celebration Set. This set comes in a 6x6 sheet of unmounted rubber and is full of the cutest images. They are just a nice size and easy to colour. Cupcakes, Two Mice, Candles, a cute cupcake, tiny balloon and Strawberry and more! The one thing I really like about this set is that it has the numbers 1-9 so that you can customize your card to the age of the receiver!

I used a denimy blue cardstock as my base. The DP is from the Debbie Mumm Nursery collection. I coloured with Copics (Sand, e-33 and Leather e-35, make the chocolate icing!) I got to play with one of my new nesties (labels ten). I just cut the bottom off as I didn't want the entire oval shape. Some Matching Denim Grograin and a Prima Flower Finishes the card off quite nicely I think!

If you've already been hopping, you should have arrived from Lori's Blog and can now finish the Hop at Amy's Blog and Store to see all the new stamps and accessories she has in stock
and if you're just starting out here and want to start at the top of the hop, be sure to visit Cindy!

Herkermer Von Cantaloupe eating Cat!

Hehe! This Scuba Kitty makes me Chuckle!!! I'm actually more of a dog person, than a cat person, but I have owned a couple of kitties over my lifetime............the classic fluffy, a big long gray haired persian looking little girl......definitely sweet, but with the onset of allergies we had to send her back to the farm. I think this pampered princess didn't like that so much, but being the Diva, she was able to gain the upper hand over the barn cats with a level of ease.

After graduating from College, I grabbed a job out of town and had to leave my sweet dog behind with my parents .......sad. I was missing a pet in my life. A friend took pity on me (ummm or so I THOUGHT) and suggested I give a loving home to his dwarf bunny Thumper. Thumper was tiny and sweet........cute as a bunny as a matter of fact.......but NOT a good house pet....after several days of picking up rabbit poop from every nook and cranny, Thumper was dubbed "Dumper" and after mentioning to my friend that he forgot to mention the fact that sweet bunny wasn't litter trained agreed to find him a new place to live( he did end up in a lovely home with a patient person). So along came Hercules, better known as Herkemer Von Cat!

Why Hercules??? well let me tell you...............do you remember the Hercules cartoon? I'm not sure if this was solely a Canadian cartoon, but it was essentially a cartoon centering around the Mythological figure of Hercules. Anyway there was this little half horse/half boy character named Newton. Now newton used to say ..........hey herc! over here herc, over here!!! So in my silliness, I wanted to be able to call the cat that way..............still reading??? So that's how the name Hercules came about............but what about the von cat business? Well this sweet little domestic bred kitty had the cutest little goatee, which reminded me of Vincent Van Gough.........and I'm not really sure if Van Gough had a goatee, but it seemed to me he should have...........so Herkermer Van Cat got slightly edited to Von Cat and I'm not sure if that has anything to do with the Sound of Musics Von Trapp family, but I'm rambling again and well in any case, I loved that cat and he loved Cantaloupe!!! yep, if there was any cantaloupe remotely around this cat would go SNAKY...........well maybe Catty..........He'd beg, rub against you and snatch a piece of cantaloupe out of my hand........have you ever had a cat that had a weird food obsession??

It's really interesting what memories on simple little image can evoke! You can find Scuba Kitty
at Paper Romance~! While you're there, check out these Cute Companions Stamps that Amy has available for Preorder! I just had to have a bunch!!! Can't wait to get them~

Scuba Kitty was coloured in the C Grey series along with BG's for water and shadows! Dotted paper is from a special collection from Archivers that I purchased last summer. Swirly border is made with an EK Success Christmas Flourish Border Punch! Sentiment, from High Hopes, is also available at Paper Romance

Happy Stamping!
