I have to tell you that I got my new IO Dies this week and it was just like Christmas~~~
The hardest thing was to decide which one's I wanted to use first.
As you've seen a few samples of the Sponge and Spritz technique on my blog in the last few weeks, you'll know that I am a total fan of this quick and easy technique.
In designing this card, I first went to find a sentiment that I wanted to showcase
You are my Sunshine......You Make me Happy When Skies are Gray
Evokes lovely memories of singing to Jon when he was a baby
He LOVED when I sang to him and it brought me great joy to bring a smile to his face
Funny, he doesn't seem interested in having me sing to him now (lol)
So, here I am getting off track again
I started with the sentiment, which made me think of a grayish sky background and then of course that gave me the opportunity to use my newest fave technique!!!!
And of course I thought the new Sea bird dies would be perfect against my Stormy Sky
I also had to use a little stickles in the water portion of the card to give it the illusion of Sea Spray!!!
Simple, but Pretty, I think!!!
Make sure you head over to the Impression Obsession Blog to get the Links for this challenge and all the rules that will make you eligible to win a great gift certificate from Impression Obsession
If you've been hopping along already, you've just come from Laura's Blog
and of course, being a "Vicki", I'm at the end of the hop!
Happy Stamping and hope that you will join us!
This is beautiful - please show me how to do this at Jactopia!!! (thank God you didn't have to use a jelly plate to make it!!!!!!)
ReplyDeleteIt makes me want to bail on work and go to the beach - except that it is raining here.
And oh yeah by the way - you can sing to me anytime!!!!!
Luv ya
Jax
I am lovin' this background and those gulls Vicki! Fabulous card!
ReplyDeleteLove the background, including that touch of stickles. My word of encouragement to you... last (in the hop) but NOT least!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful background. I love the sentiment. Thanks for the inspiration.
ReplyDeleteWhy don't my sponge and spritz creations look like yours? What a beautiful card! Please teach us how to make the spritz like yours! Photo tutorial, perhaps? Hugs!
ReplyDeleteVery cool background! I'll have to scroll back thru your prior posts to find out more about your technique. Love the colors with the touch of stickles. Cool seagull dies too.
ReplyDeleteLove the background-the birds just add and the saying ties it all in.
