Dream Big

When times are rough, Dream Big
When things are going well, Dream Big
Whether you're happy, content, sad, apathetic, Dream Big
Never lose sight of your goals and your vision for the future
You're ability to envision what lies ahead can keep you on course
Dream Big-it will motivate you to keep chugging along, even when you feel like you can't

I created this clean and simple card for the Colour Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers today.
I love the blend of the blues and lime green

I used the Beautiful Heritage Tree from Stamping Bella
The sentiment is from Impression Obsession Stamps-Dream Big

A quick share of a photo that I took the other night when walking Sydney
I had stepped into an empty lot to see if the Trilliums were still in abundance
As I looked to the right, I noticed the Beauty of this scene.
The sun, filtered by the tall pines, casting beams of beautiful light upon the ferns and dandelions
A serene scene, a quite moment.......

Well, it was quiet until the incident occurred
While attempting to get a shot of this magical scene, I failed to notice the very rough terrain.
Boom! I went down like a sack of hammers.
The view just as pretty while I was flat out on my backside.
Took a good sized chunk out of my shin, but dusted myself off, recomposed the shot and viola!
Beauty in it's finest. I Bet if I were to return at any given time, it wouldn't be so pretty. I think it was in that exact moment, with the light just right, The Dandelions untouched by the wind, that I was able to capture such a lovely scene.

So if you find yourself flat out on your butt in the gravel, look around, Dream Big, shake off the bad and refocus on what is good......it is just lying ahead

Have a great day!

Rubber Yumminess and a sale at Impression Obsession!

Good Morning! I wanted to share a couple of different looks with the Grunge Circles Stamps!
I really like this colour combo! It looks very fresh and clean to me
These are the stamps I used for this card

I created this journalling page and played with Gesso for the first time yesterday
I started by stamping the Grunge Circles in Gesso
Then I sprayed over with Stephanie Barnard Ink Sprays, spritzing a bit of water over that
I followed with some Dylusions White Linen to lighten it up a bit
I embossed the sentiment in Black (WIsh I had used White)
I used the FLoral Lace heart and the Heart of Heart Dies to further embellish the page

I really wanted to use a button on the heart, but the little crocheted flower just looked perfect, so I opted for a tiny half pearl......close to a button!!

Summer is on it's way and Impression Obsession has TONS of great new products and stamps in our online store to celebrate it.  FREE SHIPPING is for US customers only.   The sale details again are:

Thinking of GG on Bellarific Friday

YAY!!!! It's Friday! Not only is it Friday, it is going to be nice today!
Warm and Sunny! I think that's pretty Bellarific, don't you???

I'm looking forward to the long weekend....Victoria Day Weekend,

Bet you all didn't have any idea, that I have my own personal Statutory Holiday!

Victoria Day weekend is bittersweet. My Grandmother passed away on Victoria Day several years ago and although I think of her often, she is very much on my mind on this weekend.  I've written about Grandma...known as GG in her later years as the Great Grandchildren happened along a few times on my blog. I've shared that I truly believe I inherited her bright blue eyes, her love for music and writing  and of course crafting. She hand embroidered many beautiful pillowcases, some of which I still have. I remember a green set with little poodles on them, that she lovingly made for me after we purchased a Chocolate Poodle. She also did rug hooking......not the latch kit type, but would go to thrift stores and purchase wool coats and cut them up. She made many beautiful rugs, wall hangings, tea cozies and a gorgeous bell pull that is sculpted and hangs in my mother's formal living room. She was so very talented and I miss her so. I know that when we meet again, we will surely have some divine crafting time together. Love you much Grandma

For my card, I used a couple of stamp sets.

Emily's Lantern Flowers (tiny dragonfly and butterfly on lower panel)
Journal your art out-Natures Silhouette Stamps (Watermarked in upper panel.....yep, look very very closely!)
Sentiment is from Uptown Girl Winnie peeking out the window

Be sure to head on over to Blogabella to see the creations and how to submit your art to randomly win some rubbah!

Yours Truly

I created this card for Today's Sketch challenge on Splitcoaststampers
I LOVE this image by Diane Duda called Yours Truly
I coloured her with my Touch Markers and sponged some Tim Holtz Sage Ink to the edges of the image. You've see her here before and I know you'll see her again. She is truly one of my favourite images.... I love her sweet face and the way her braid flows in the wind......

It's a Bellarific Krafty Friday!

Good Morning! It's another glorious day here in Kingston Ontario. Although the Weatherman has been calling for rain, we don't seem to be getting as much as they have been calling for, which is allright by me!!! Today's challenge was to use Kraft Paper on your creation. I immediately thought of this stamp. I know i've used it over and over, but I absolutely ADORE it.... The House, the font in the house, the sentiment.  Artsy House is definitely a stamp that I can't get enough of!!!

Make sure you head on over to Blogabella today to see all the fabulous and krafty creations!!!

Next week's challenge is a Sketch!

Be sure to get your submissions to Emmabella by next Thursday to have your card up in lights on the blog and to have a chance to win a gift certificate for some Bellarific Rubba!!!

Impression Obsession Designer Thursday

As you know, my Canadian Besties came down from Western Ontario last weekend for my annual Craftin' Pajama Party!

Kim and I have been taking an interest in Mixed Media as of late and she showed my a lot of fabulous techniques with the Dylusion Sprays that her friend Lori shared with her too!

I LOVE this background that we created together. Our Pages are quite similar, but we varied our stamps and sentiments. I LOVE how my page turned out!!!

Mixed Media and Art Journalling has quickly become a love of mine. I like the feeling of everything just flowing and free and playing with many different mediums! FUN

I am feeling the nature theme for sure. As we get deeper into spring, my morning and evening walks with Sydney have got substantially longer.....each time I see the season progress, with more green on the landscape, trees budding and sporting a greater abundance of foliage each day and some bushes and trees in bloom, the spring flowers open and fragrant. Each morning I breathe in the fresh spring air in anticipation of the fragrant aroma of Lilacs, my favourite flower. If all is on schedule, they should be in full bloom very soon.  Here's a few photo's from yesterdays morning walk

Loved the haze that the sun was putting on the Green Field

These are Trilliums....Ontario's Provincial Flower
They are more widely recognized as White Flowers, but I have come across the Red ones in the last several years

My shadow joined Sydney and myself this morning....at first glance, it appeared that someone was on the Creek Bank......Fun Shot!!!

So back to my Page. I used a bunch of fun stamps from Impression Obsession to complete my Dylusion Sprayed Background

Stamps

The sentiment is from Ralph Waldo Emmerson

To find the beautiful we must carry it with us, or we find it not

The set is called

Hope you enjoy my page..... I sure did enjoy creating it

Vintage Hello and Momma's got her eye on you!!!!

Have I ever mentioned how much I love the versatility of Stamps?
No matter WHAT your style, you can use your stamps to achieve the look that you want.

Case in point: the the two cards I am featuring today!!! Completely different styles. That is WHY I kind of get a glazed over look when I am asked to describe my style. Is it that I have none? I just play with my stamps and go with what feels right at the time~

I LOVE the vintage look that I created on the first card. Using all sorts of supplies from Bev's stamping stash when I was in Texas, I turned out this beauty. There are a few occasions that my own work makes me go "WOW" and this is one of them. Actually, come to think of it, I think it's when I create these vintagy feeling cards. They remind me of some of my Grandmothers tatted lace slipcovers and quilts. A warm, comfortable feeling. For this card I used the Phone4you set for the base phone, but paired it with the sentiment from the  newly released phones2decorate
Using Stephanies Sizzix Heart Dies, I created a base to ground the phone on.

This little charmer reflects my at times, WACKY Personality!!! and twisted sense of humour
I wanted something bright and vibrant and busy....just like my Mama!!!  The idea to add the eyeball in the centre of the phone is that you should always conduct yourself as if your Mother has an eye on you!!!  The sentiment and funky phone design is in the phones2decorate set. I LOVE the sentiment as that is what my mom says when she leaves a message on my phone....well not always please, but call your mother.....lol. Speaking of Mom's, I'm totally looking forward to Mother's Day weekend. We are going on a little Wine Tasting excursion to Prince Edward County on Saturday and I've promised to assist her with some gardening on Sunday (I am not a fan of gardening, but it IS Mother's Day!)

Here's a picture of Me and My Mother on a Red Hat excursion last year

She's such a pretty one!!! This year it's not a Red Hat excursion, but a Road Trip with her Beta Sigma Phi Girlfriends.....hoping to get some good photos of the gorgeous scenery and my Beautiful Mom!

Happy Stamping!

I'm Thankful-Impression Obsession Challenge

Today Kelli challenged us to make a creation with the theme of I'm Thankful
I'm Thankful for many things; good health, a tiny but quirky and loving Family, Some of the BEST FRIENDS a woman could ask for........here in Canada (HERE IN MY HOME IN LESS THAN 12 hours....YAY!!!!) and in the United States too!!!

I'm Thankful that I am employed and over two thirds pension complete!  I'm Thankful that for the most part, I love my job, which can be rare in the environment that I work in.

I'm thankful that I am a Mother and a Daughter and a Friend.

I'm Thankful that I live in Canada

I am Thankful that someone designed Cowboy Boots and learned to melt Silver

I am Thankful that there are no Cookies in the House right now (late night snacking is NOT good for me!!!.......hehe!)

I am Thankful for Spring

I love the Clean Air that fills my lungs as I take Sydney on her morning walk
I am Thankful that I have a nice peaceful area to walk in with many trees, a babbling Brook, which is at it's fullest in the Spring. I love to watch the pretty flowers peek through the ground and the fragrant aroma of fresh lilacs in the air.

Yesterday was the perfect spring day. I walked Sydney in shorts and sandals and was not the least bit cold. It was a little overcast, but by noon the sun was shining bright and I enjoyed some time by Lake Ontario, watching the Drakes and Ducks and Canada Geese on the water. I enjoyed the warmth of the sun on my skin and breathing in the fresh air......... I enjoyed the moment, I love Spring.

Here I am ART Journalling again...it's getting to be a regular thang....... I am THANKFUL that I can use different mediums to express my creativity!!

and heres..... a list of supplies!

Stamps:

Ink: Versamark and Tim Holtz Chipped Sapphire- Mixed Media Ink for Sponging
