InStyle Stamps Blog Hoppin!

It's the last Friday of the Month and Time for a Blog Hop over at InStyle Stamps. Check out the ISS Blog for the details, as well as the links to the DT Blog! I have very much enjoyed working with ISS images during my Guest Designer Spot. This image, Snow Globe Castle is one of the newest releases. I can see a lot of potential for this image, including Shaker Cards, Girlie Birthday Favours............I found this notebook at one of our Dollar Stores and thought it would make a great base for the image.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers, Glittered the Clouds and then Put a heavy coat of Diamond Glaze over the top! DP is from Imaginisce. You can win some Blog Candy by heading to the and let us know what your favourite Fairy Tale is......................you can also vote on the Designer Projects as well!

Happy Stamping and have a great weekend,

It's time for Christmas! Sankari's Snowman Challenge

If you were reading my last post, you'll know that I went on a wee shopping spree! Funny, when I was packing for my girlz weekend, I had to limit the amount of DP I was bringing as I probably couldn't have fit it all in the Trunk of my Mustang! Hmmmm maybe I should have kept my Truck or traded it in for a Cube Van! Well, that may be a slight exaggeration, but with all the gear that we carted up to Jen's this weekend, I knew that I needed to be frugal in my packing!

Thank goodness I only filled that container half full, because after my wee paper frenzy on Thursday, I had to sit on the lid to get it to close down! Which brings me to today's Christmas Card Challenge ( you knew I'd get to that eventually.......I just seem to take you along the scenic route to get to the heart of the matter, the card, the CARD!)

This card, with the exception of the chipboard sentiment (which came in one of the Other ...scenic route paper packages that I purchased.............It was on SALE and then the Store had a sale, so I couldn't possible pass that up!) is made from the Cosmo Cricket Jolly By Golly Line. It's very vintagy and the colour combinations are faboo!

The card worked up quickly as I used one patterned paper.........you can see both sides in this card. I cut along the curve of the pink pattern to create an interesting layout (well I hope you think it's interesting..........now pull your head up off your keyboard and take a look...........no more snoozing while visiting my blog!)

I mounted the Snowman Stickers onto dimensionals to give it some dimension ;-P and added a little glitta for effect! I didn't bring too much ribbon on this road trip, so I dug into Jax's stash and got some of this retro looking ribbon for my card.

How are your Christmas Cards coming along?

Hop on over to the Christmas Blog to see what the girlz have been up to!

Maria is adding an additional challenge each Thursday, if you really want to step things up! I hope to play along at some point when things slow down a bit.

Well, as you're reading this, I should be on my way back home! I am predicting that I will have had a wonderful weekend and will be in need of some catch up sleep!

Happy Stamping!

Our Creative Corner Sketch Challenge

This week's challenge over at OCC is a gorgeous Sketch Challenge brought to you by our fab Hostess Jenny! I love this sketch and to see the actual sketch (I'm away from home again!) you can head over to the OCC to see it, along with the sweet designs of my counterparts!
Each time I load my card into the group blog, I get so excited to see what's in store for you for the challenge!!!
I used the ever sweet Marti from InStyle Stamps , who appears to be enjoying her Blue Curaco Martini immensely! She is one Classy Chicka for sure!
I coloured her with Copics. On my travels to Woodstock yesterday, I had the opportunity to stop in and have a visit with Em from Stamping Bella! Wow! her store is fun and full of eye candy galore! She is the sweetest and I'm looking forward to stopping again when I'm up that way!
I picked up a Cupcake Diva Stamp, some Yummalicious Prima Printed Twill, Buttons and two new Cosmo Cricket Paper Packs! Oh and a few more Prism Pencils (thanks Paula! lol!)
Jacqui and I made a trip to Scrapping Great Deals last night, before we filled our tummies at the Mandarin. I picked up the DP that I used on the card............yes, when it comes to Designer Paper I am likened to a Crack Addict...............If I pull just one sheet, I'm doomed.............doomed! Well it started at Em's and carried over to Sheila's! Anyway, this DP is from We R Memory Keepers Tiffany's line.............yep Jax just HAD to bring it to my attention.
The Ribbon is my absolute Favourite..........you'll see it over and over on my cards until I have run out.............then you'll just see water spots on my creations from the tears falling onto the place where that ribbon would have accented my card so perfectly!
Can you tell I'm a little giddy this morning? Just spending time with my best girls makes me happy! The Rub on is from Stampin' Up! and was applied directly to the Satiny, ever so smooth chocolately rich ribbon! Half Pearls are from K&Co.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend! I'll have another post for you on Monday and then next week you'll see some awesome sneak peeks from Hanna Stamps, Pink Cat Studio, InStyle Stamps and Our Craft Lounge..............this means that I'll be busy as a bee and the posts may be scarce for the next few.....................
Stampin' my fingers to the Bone!

Where did the week go?

This week has definitely caught up, brushed by in a whirlwind and left me eating dust!!!! Sorry for the absence this week, it's just been crazy crazy busy!!!

Hoping that this sweet surprise may be some consulation for being away! This Wee Riley will be up for sale very soon over at Hanna Stamps
Every time I get a new Riley, I could just wiggle................to me they just keep getting cuter and cuter!

Here we are Riding in Style in Mr. Ferro's classic Mustang! We spent Independence Day at their home where we were treated to a lovely BBQ, Fireworks and of course the highlight of my day, a Drive in the 'Stang! I am crazy about Mustang's so this was a total treat!

I'm all packed and ready to head out a little later this morning to hang out with my Best Girls up in the Woodstock area!!! We're going to miss Kristi though as she's getting ready for CHA!!!

Good thing is that we get pretty creative when were together, so I hope I have some cool things to show you soon!

This card is pretty straightforward...........Card stock and colouring! Coloured with Copics, used Nesties and SU punches for embellisment. I added a little glaze pen to the hose water and puddle!

Happy Stamping and I'm going to try to have something for you tomorrow!

Christmas Stampin All Year Long

The Challenge this week over at Christmas Stamping All Year Long is a Sketch Challenge, hosted by our savvy leader Maria! Look HERE to see the sketch . Well of course if you know me well, you know that I absolutely have to alter the sketch ever so slightly! So, when I saw this sketch, I knew it would be just perfect for a gate fold card!

The Delicious New DP is from Basic Grey! Very yummy indeed!

Holiday Hedgehogs, still remains one of my favourite stamp sets. I have had these little fellows since I first started with Stampin' Up! in late 2003 and just can't part with them.

I got some more practice with my Prism Pencils and Gamsol. Still needs work, but I'm starting to like the effect that I'm getting! I picked up the little buttons from Fancy Pants a couple of years ago, the brown buttons are from Rusty Pickle. To give the image another little bit of bling, I added glazing pen to the Candy Cane and a little Stickle Snow Storm.
Hope the beginning of your week runs smooth and Happy Stamping!

OCC Challenge Triple Play!

Challenges Challenges...........isn't life full of them! Nice thing is that Card Challenges are enjoyable, aren't they? Unlike my computer challenges that I've been facing all week! Seems like I have it all under control no though, so hopefully smooth sailing from here (please keep your fingers crossed for me!

This card was created for the OCC! This week our July hostess, Jenny Gropp, has challenged the OCC to a TRIPLE PLAY Challenge... Less is not always more! You must pick at least three types of embellishments to use on your card or project. These are your choices: Brads, Eyelets, Bling, Ribbon, Buttons, Thread/Floss, Beads, Charms, Rub Ons, Liquid Applique, Crystal Lacquer. There is no time limit on our challenges - feel free to participate whenever you are able. To play along, upload your creation to your blog or gallery, then leave us a comment linking to your project so we can check it out. If you upload to SCS, remember to use keyword: OCCC.

My Three embellishments are Stitching, Rub Ons from SU! and Teensy Tiny flower sequins from the Dollar Store! Sweet Yuki is headed to my cousin tomorrow! We're heading out on a road trip to Renfrew Ontario, to spend the day with my Cousin Suzanne and her family to celebrate her Birthday! Boy I hope the weather holds up and we can take the convertible!

Yuki is a digitial image from InStyle Stamps. I am loving the Digi Images! They are so easy to store and you can resize them if you like, which is very cool if you want to work on a project that requires a bigger image! Perfect for Scrap Booking! The Paper is Baby Pink Dark from Prism, which almost has a Coralish Colour a perfect match for the Pink Grapefruit Versamark Chalk ink that I used to sponge in the colour around the image! The DP is from the latest collection of Basic Grey! So pretty that I didn't want to add too much to the layers as I wanted to showcase the paper. Don't forget to check out our Design Team Websites to see their gorgeous creations.

I received this pretty award from my fellow OCC and Hanna Stamps Design Team friend, Joycelyn . You must have a peek at her blog, because it's truly lovely!!!! Thanks Joycelyn, you're a sweetie!!! Here a just a couple of my favourite blogs!

Cindy Major
Silke
Lise
Carla

There are SO many blogs that I subscribe to, that I'd love to list them all, but after spending several hours on the computer this week and still needing to catch up with my hopping, I'll just highlight these four talented ladies for now!!!!

Happy Stamping!

A very Lazy Week!

Well in terms of Stamping! I had a hectic week getting back into work mode and into the groove of things here, so I must say that by evening I morphed into a bit of a couch potatoe and took a little stamping break!!!

I had all intentions of prepping a great 3D project for the Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge, which is hosted by our very talented Adela! Unfortunately, that didn't transpire, but I would encourage you all to visit the Hanna Forum and play along~! I want to get around to it this weekend, but I am thinking that with the upcoming releases from Hanna, Pink Cat Studio and InStyle stamps, I won't have time!

In addition, I stripped down my computer and when I just now went to access a file of a card that I had made at Kristi's I just realized that I had wiped out all of the pictures that I took at Kristi's including the pictures of the sample cards that I had made her for CHA...............

So here's a little sample of Ice Cream Riley............
I "moosed" all of my blog surfing this week as well and hope to catch up this weekend!

Happy Stamping~!

I'm late, I'm LATE!!!! CSAYL

Yes, late is the theme for today!!!! I actually had my card complete and ready to go last night, but unfortunately my computer has not been very cooperative as of late and the internet went down just as I was about to post. I was planning on getting up REALLY early today to make my post, but hmmmmmmmm yep, late!!! The alarm went off at 5:30 a.m. and I lay there thinking I would drift through one song and then get up................NOPE! Half an hour later I woke up. I guess that if I REALLY want to get up on time, I'll have to set the alarm to the Screaming Sound that would rise anyone from their bed while risking cardiac arrest from the shocking sound!
Anyway, I was almost talking myself out of going to the gym this morning with the excuse that I had to make this post. As you know, i've been on Vakay for the last couple of weeks and all my routines and good eating habits went out the window, so I was really committed to getting back on track today~
So I did get to the gym, was running late and missed getting there early enought to do my cardio before swim, but managed to slip into the pool (Gracefully of course........think Esther Williams........and if you're going HUH??? well you're just young! lol) in time for Aqua fit!
After being in the water for a few, I started to think that I was missing something........hmmm did I fully pack my bag for work??? Ohhh I hope that I didn't forget my undergarments.......oh well, just focus on the class Vicki.....splash splash!!!
Sure enough, the essentials were not in my bag!!!! Had to make a trip home to ensure that I was dressed appropriately for work, which of course made me late!!!!.....................and If I ramble on any more here, I'll be late getting dinner on too!!!!
The Challenge this week, hosted by Debbie is to decorate your card inside and out. This seems to be quite trendy lately! I chose to make a gift card holder.

On Saturday, Kristi treated me to a Prism class taught by Paula Williamson! All I can say is WOW!!!! Paula is one talented lady! I totally learned a lot from her, so thanks Kristi and Paula......it was a real treat! Check out Paula's BLOG . Her work is AMAZING!!!!!

So I played with the Prism's on this image........not totally please with my work, but the image was pretty small (excuses, excuses!) and I am looking forward to going at it again!!!!

The image is an Elzybell that was carried by amuse. I coloured with Prism Pencils, blended with Gamsol and Sponged with Versamark Chalk Ink. The Cool Clear Snowflakes are from Heidi Swapp and the Snowflake on the inside of the card is from a Dollar Store. Ribbon, sentiment and hardware from Stampin' Up!

Head on over to the CSAYL Blog to see the Awesome Creations! Hope you'll play along!

Dogginit, you're old!!!! OCC Pet Parade Challenge

Glad that my dad has a good sense of humour............actually, that is probably from where mine stems, except I think mine is a tad bit more twisted!...I made this card for his 74th Birthday!

This is a rather simple layout inspired by a sample that I had seen in the latest SU! Catalogue.......well cased really...........I just liked the look of the layout and decided to adapt it to my challenge card, which is sponsored by Dog Gone Stamps
This image, Give the Dog a Bone is from STAMPOTIQUE. I totally LOVE LOVE LOVE the images that you can find there. This image actually has a bone tree that is part of the image, however I just used the puppy on this one.
This weeks challenge is a prize challenge sponsored by Dog Gone Stamps. Head on over to the OCC for the details on how to play and win. Because I am prescheduling some of my posts, I'm not sure the exact deets. You can also see the DT's PURRRRRFECTLY Pretty Papercrafts!
Card Colours: Really Rust, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Gina K White
Have a great day!

Hanna Stamps Friday Challenge

Today's Challenge Hostess is our newest Design Team Member, Nikki Fairbarn. I had the opportunity to speak with Nikki on the phone last evening and it's really exciting to put a voice to a name. We're very lucky to have her on our team and she's thrilled to be with us too!

Nikki created this awesome sketch especially for the Friday Challenge. To play along, please see the details HERE in the Hanna Forum. You can win a free stamp set, just for playing the challenges!!!!

You can find the DP that I used on this card over at Hanna Stamps! The Sea Glass Paper is from SandyLion, the Other blue is the unprinted side of Torn, from the Crate Paper Static collection.

Image is coloured with Copics, the smaller blue panel embossed with a cuttlebug folder and dusted with Dazzling Diamonds Glitter.

Rhinestones are from Making Memories and the Funky Punch (my lastest punch purchase) is from EK Success.
Well, we're heading home tomorrow, so I am going to truly enjoy my last day of vacation. Kristi, Mark and Hanna have been the best hosts and we're sure going to miss them. Marks parents have also been wonderful and are sending off us this evening with a wonderful Italian dinner!
I am so grateful for good friends! I would never have met Kristi, but for stamping and feel very fortunate that our paths have crossed!
Happy Stamping!

InStyle Thankful Thursday Post

Today is Thankful Thursday Sketch Challenge over at InStyle Stamps! Michelle, our Fab Hostess for today has cooked up an amazing Sketch for you!

Sweet Jasmine is looking very summery here with here wee babe! It's funny how one goes about constructing a card. For this particular creation, I started with the sketch and then worked my image in around it. I saw a wee scrap of the small dotted paper on Kristi's scrap table and then went from there!!! Cardstock is from Prism, but I am not sure about the DP. Here's a little more of that May Arts Ribbon that I am loving so much!!!! I have a HUGE roll, so you won't be seeing the last of it!

Here's the Sketch! Isn't it Fabulous??? Now hop on over to the ISS BLOG to get the deets on the prize challenge!!! Would love for you to play along!!!

Happy Stamping!

Sweet Vacation TIme!

It's so nice to be able to sleep in, not be on a schedule and just enjoy time with friends! Usually my days are very full and there's very little down time. Anyway, I am just enjoying the slow pace.............haven't even stamped since last Thursday! Lucky I still have a few things in the Coffers!
I made this card for the Hanna Stamps New Set Challenge. This is how it goes: Purchase the Cyber Hanna Stamp set, available at Hanna Stamps Today. Make a card and post it before the August Release Party, which is the first Monday in August in THIS FORUM
The winner will receive two free sets of their choice to be announced at the August Release Party.
Our Hostess for this month's challenge is Jeanne and the challenge is colour. Use Pink, Gray, Black and White on your card.
I used Pink Pirouette, Basic Grey, Black (all from SU!) and Neenah White. I coloured with shades of cool greys from copic, along with slate grey. I used Scalloped Circles for a base for the main image and sponged punched hearts from SU!!!
Hope you'll play along!

Christmas Stamping and Hanna Release Tonight!

Lots to show you today! I was a busy chicka leading up to my holidays!!! This first card is for the Christmas Stamping All Year Long Challenge Blog and I was the Hostest with the Mostest this week........the Mostest What you ask??? Hmmm the Mostest Buttons on my Card? The Mostest Christmas Cards completed this year to day (hmm probs not!) The mostest charm?? hehe............probably the mostest schmack talk on my blog........hehe!!!

So the challenge this week is a Stampless Challenge! Yep, Stampers stripped down to nothing! The only thing on your card that can be stamped is the sentiment. Sound Fun? You should see the amazing creations the Design Divas have worked up for you this week! Wowsa........my card looks a little naked in comparison! Hop on over and take a look by following the links on my sidebar!!!

We're partying over in the Hanna Forum tonight! The RELEASE PARTY STARTS HERE
at 9 p.m. est! As you know, I'm hanging here just outside of the Motor City with Kristi and it's going to be a blast to be doing a release party together!!!! So come on out, it should be much fun!

Cyber Hanna has her computer booted and looks like she's in too! I love this main image from the Cyber Hanna set! There are some very cool accessories in the set, which should have you creating a scene in a jiffy!

As you know, over at Hanna STamps we're celebrating Retro Summer! After a Hot and Sticky day of selling ice cream, Riley's enjoying his day off with a little physical activity......he's a little worried about chubbing up from sampling each and every sample of ice cream to make sure that they are all fit to be served!

Hope you'll join us tonight at the release party! It's going to be tons of fun! Gotta Fly! Things to do today, but if you have any questions about card recipes, just pop a little note into my chat box and I'll get back to you!

The Ice Cream Man is coming! The Ice CREAM MAN IS COMING!!

I'm not sure how many of you are old enough to remember the older episodes of Saturday Night Live, but they sure made me laugh! My absolute favourite cast included Chevy Chase, Bill Murry, Gilda Radner....the sketches involving Todd and Lisa and of course Mr. Bill. And then Eddie Murphy came along! Oh my gosh, that man just had to open his mouth and flash that impish grin and I could erupt in giggles! That leads me to think about a solo comedy tape that he released called "Raw" and well it was pretty Raw.......but there was a sketch called the Ice Cream Man is Coming and it had to be one of my favourites in the tape! So I'm letting you into my mind a bit to share what goes through my head when stamping! It's funny what some images will evoke.

Now it's not that wee Riley can't hold down a job, he is just a fellow that craves variety and want's to try all kinds of occupations and experience many adventures! Perhaps he is a social scientist who is working on his PHD on the effects of stress in various careers!

I think his tenure as an ice cream man would be pretty sweet, don't you? Everyone is Happy to see you and you get to work outdoors in good weather!!!

I used the new melon cardstock from Stampin' Up! as a base for this card and coloured with various shades of teal to match the Bermuda Bay dotted Grosgrain Ribbon.

Oh my gosh, I think my Hypothesis about Riley may just be accurate! Here he is making notes on his Laptop...............hmmmm I hope his Study is Long Term, because I can't wait to see what he's up to next!

Again, I used two new Stampin' Up colours on this Card, the darker being called Soft Suede, which is kind of a mix between a Taupish and Khaki colour depending on what is layered with it. The DP is from the DCWV Safari Stack.

Our Release Party is tomorrow night at 9 p.m. est HERE

Oh and Guess What??? One of our fine designers, Sandra MacLean is featured stamper over at Splitcoaststampers! Sandra is Super Talented, with colouring skills that will rock your world. You can check out her blog here. The hyperlink for her name will take you to her Splitcoaststampers Gallery. Unfortunately Riley has not worked for the postal service yet, because Sandra's stamps did not get to her this month; and because Riley hasn't experienced the world of Private Investigator, Kristi is playing detective and is on the case as we speak!!! Still make sure you take a peek at her blog and gallery, you won't be disappointed.
I hope to play the challenge a little later this morning!

See you tomoz with more sneaks!!!!

Hanna Sneak Peeks Day Two!

Anyone starting off their morning with a little "blurfing"? The first time I heard that term I was a little confused about what it meant.........I could tell you some of the thoughts that arose, but frankly, if I shared what happens in my mind with you, I'm afraid that I might lose some readers!!!

These images are from the Hanna Mermaid Set. You can use the stamps individually, or create a lot of cool cool scenes with this Ocean themed set.

This little guy makes me giggle!!!! He kind of reminds me of Elvis........so in reality, the sentiment should ready......... "Thank you, thank you very much"! I bet if he was animated, he would curl his lip just like the King of Rock and Roll too! Instead, his little tail is curled and his Cape distinguished him King of his Aqua Turf!!!
What about these new in colours from Stampin' Up! I am Totally Totally Lovin' them! This one is called Bermuda Bay. I also used some DP from a new Safari Stack that I recently picked up at Michaels. The Fishie card uses Kiwi Kiss, a colour that just retired, but that I stacked up on Large as it's my favourite colour at the moment, hands down!
These images, along with all the other new releases will be available at Hanna Stamps on Monday July 6th after the release party, that's being held over at Hanna Stamps!
Don't forget to check out the talented DT samples, by following my SideBar!
Happy Stamping

Happy Birthday Friend! Happy Independence Day !

Sometimes people come into your life rather unseemingly and without the notion that they will have significant impact in your life, regardless of the level of interaction. It's a wonderful surprise when you meet someone purely by chance and with little expectation of how the friendship may develop.

This one is for you my friend! I hope you enjoy a Wonderful Birthday surrounded by those that love you the most. Thanks for being meaningful in my life, a source of inspiration and a far away friend.

The image on this card is from Bombshell Stamps. I was inspired to do this card in a Red White and Blue theme given that it's the Fourth of July and I am really excited that Jon and I are celebrating the holiday here in Michigan with our dear dear friends, Kristi, Mark and Hanna.

I hope you all enjoy a safe and Wonderful Holiday!

Lots of posts for you today! More Hanna Peeks coming up in a Jiffy!

Happy Stamping

OCC-Colour Challenge

This week over at OCC, the challenge is Colour-use Red, White and Blue on your card. Any Shades of those colours go!!!

This card was made with the November kit of the Month from Unity Stamps and the Happy Everything Stamps from Stampin' Up!

The card base is Bashful Blue, with White accents and Deja Vu DP

I coloured the little Birdie with Copics and mounted him on a dimensional to look as if he perhaps scrolled the word "Happy" in mid flight! SU scalloped Circle and small oval anchor the sentiment. I used a little white gel pen to imitate stitching on the ribbon............it pretty much disappears into the fabric, although it went on quite brilliantly upon application.
Happy Indepence Day! I am excited that I will be celebrating right along with you from Detroit Michigan!
Take a few and hop on over to the OCC blog to play along and to see the amazing samples from our Design Diva's
Have a safe and enjoyable holiday,

Unity Kit of the Month Guest Designer Challenge

I'm having a blast on my wee vacation so far! We arrived safely at Jacqui's on Tuesday evening....four hours and eleven minutes driving time...........took longer though, because I always have to make a couple of stops.
Yesterday, the weather wasn't great, so we didn't have to feel too guilty about staying indoors. Kim, Tami, Jacqui and myself stamped the day away! Jonathon and Joel holed up in the rec room playing combat arms and venturing out for a couple of walks!
I created this card for the Unity Stamps Co. Kit of the Month Guest Designer Challenge. If you would like to see the details for the challenge, click HERE. The Sweet Cherries are in the June Kit of the Month! I have been subscribing to the kit for several months now and it's a sweet surprise to receive the excellent variety of stamps each month! The stamps are very high quality, the rubber buttery soft!!!
I decided to keep the design very clean and simple...........really striving for that look lately!
Card Recipe:
Stamps-Unity, June kit of the Month-Perfect in Every Way
Cardstock: Craft, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Accessories: SU! Scallop Border, Scallop Circle, Circle Punches, Cuttlebug embossing Folder, Foofala Button, Hemp Twine, SU Key Tag Punch, SU Markers
I'm off to Detroit tomorrow, but should have a challenge post for you and HANNA Sneak Peeks start tomorrow as well!
Happy Stamping!

Sweet School Girl

Another Sweet image from In Style Stamps. Janice is wishing her friend a Happy Birthday!
I have really been working at making my cards more minimalist........must be in the mood i've been lately.................hmmmm either that or like clothes in the summer, it's just too warm for so many layers!!!!
I started with a Base of Going Grey and Basic Grey, white and Pirouette Pink for accent colours. The sentiment is punched with SU! word window punch and I added a flower and scallop circle as a base for the sentiment..................would write more, but at the moz, it's after 11:00 p.m. and I will be leaving on holiday's after work, so I best try to get a little shut eye!
.Happy Stamping!
