Impression Obsession Challenge-Red, White & Blue

This weeks challenge over at Impression Obsession is a colour challenge- Red, White & Blue. If you're in the United States, it would be very cool to see some Independence Day Cards. Here in Canada, we are Red & White, so I just created a fun all purpose card in this fun colour combination!

If you click on the picture for a close up, you will see one of the new fun Fireworks Cover a Card Background Stamps. I stamped tone on tone with Strawberry Colorbox Ink by Stephanie Barnard. Then I decided to couple this fun Life Sentiment is from the Life & Flowers set. You can get the fun  Shake it pouches over at impression obsession as well and this fabulous  square shaker frame die so that you can easily customize the frame!  I added a touch of Red Pearl Pen (Viva) to add a little more oomph to the frame and this fun ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon to finish it off.

To get more details on the challenge and find out who's playing along, please head over to the Impression Obsession Blog

Happy Stamping!

Impression Obsession Teams up with Balzer Designs. Blog Hop!!

Welcome to the Impression Obsession and Balzer Designs Blog Hop

If you've been hopping already, you've just arrived from the very Talented Laura's Blog

Impression Obsession has teamed up with J Balzer Designs to produce Clear Stamp Sets that coordinate with Julie's Stencils.

You can use the Stencils and Stamps Independently, or Together as I have in both of my creations!

To see how the Stencils work together, just follow This Link

For my first creation, a quick and easy gift bag, I used the Circle Set along with the Circles Stencil

I can't wait to experiment a little more with the Butterflies Set. It's so Whimsical looking...just love it!
I kept it monochromatic for my first go at it, but am sure to add some more colour next time!
You can find the matching stencils here!

Now hop on over to one of my favourite Stampers , Jenny's Blog to feast your eyes on her gorgeous creation! Be sure to leave a comment at each stop on the hops as Julie is giving away all six stamp sets with the matching Stencils to one lucky person that leaves comments!

Happy Stamping and Good Luck!

SDC56 Twins!!

Today's challenge is to use a stamp twice on your creation. I tried my hand at a little bit of techniquey stamping again. I am really not much of a technique stamper, as I've said before, but I get so totally inspired by the Stampotique Designers amazing creations that I decide to give it a whirl.

I used the Flower Stamp Twice to make a fun flower for this great tag!

TTC19 Make it Hairy!

This week's challenge over at the Touch Twin Challenge Blog is to use an image where you have to colour hair......it could be a person or a cute critter, such as this sweet little Beagle  from Impression Obsession. I placed him against this Distressed Brick Cover a Card Background, which I stamped in Tim Holtz Rusty Hinge Distress Ink. The sentiment is also from Impression Obsession- What's Shakin'  SO cute! I kept the card pretty simple, 'cause I wanted the focus to remain on the little guy!

Touch Markers used

0
BR93
BR94
BR97
YR29

I didn't make a colour map for this image as all of the colours are on the dog. Basically, to create this look start with the lightest colour (YR29) and using short strokes, keep adding colour until you get the look of fur. To add a little dimension to the white areas, I added some WG1 and then blended it out with the colourless blender

Supplies

Brad-Bo Bunny

Make sure you head over to the Touch Challenge Blog to enter your creation and possibly win a set of 12 Touch Markers!

Fun new sets from The {Stamps} of Life!

I created this quick and easy  note card set using three of the June release stamps from The {Stamps} of Life! Chevrons2stamps, Hexagons2love and Faces4stamps

My intention was just to stamp a background for a card, but when I was through, I kind of liked the look of the card on it's own. I sponged a bit of Brocade Blue ink to the BB Cardstock to soften the edges and then I just played with the stamps to change up my patterns a bit. Fun!

So then I thought I'd stamp up a few matching envies and created a tag!

Now I have a little gift that I can tuck away. It's nice to take a little surprise to a hostess

I was surprised on Thursday evening, when my good friend Andreanne brought these gorgeous Gerbera Daisies for me. Aren't they BEAUTIFUL?? Thanks Andreanne, you are ever so gracious!

Such Vibrant colours......Man, I LOVE Summer!

Hope to get a little fishing in today and some colouring too!

Happy Stamping!

Impression Obsession Summer Release Part 2!

Today we celebrate the new summer stamps from designer Gary Robertson.  Gary's art is loved by many because of the detail he puts into his images.  I know that I totally {HEART} his images!!!  For my card, I chose this gorgeous Sand Castle Pail image.  I stamped the image twice and coloured it with my Touch Markers. I coloured the sand castle and the shell separately so I could mount them on dimensional foam to make this image pop just a little more! For my background, I stamped tone on tone with the new cover a card shells. I totally love this stamp too. The sentiment is from Dina's collection!
I added a touch of fine glitter to the shell and castle to make it look as if the sun is shining on it!  Read on below to see how you can get a chance to win some stamping bucks!!!

Impression Obsession Summer Release!

Our Summer Release Celebration Has Begun!

It actually started yesterday with Mitra's creation and post HERE, using one of our newest IO artist's images.   Long-time Design Team member, Dina Kowal, is our newest IO artist!  If you've followed the IO blog at all in the past few years, you have seen tons of Dina's creations on this blog, her blog, in our catalogs, and on our new IO store website too!

Dina's collection of nautical and travel-themed stamps are just in time for summer!  Like the cards she creates, her designs are totally unique and lovely all in one.

For my card, I used this beautiful shell collage stamp. I stamped it first in not quite navy over top of the blue bayou cardstock, that I had stamped tone on tone with the cover a card ticking stamp. I then stamped the image in chocolate colorbox ink by Stephanie Barnard and cut out the shell portion. I sponged it with a little creamy caramel ink to give it a little more dimension and then popped it off the paper with a pop dot! Lastly I stamped the Bowlines Sentiment and added the hemp and wooden sand dollar to complete the look!  Take a look at what the talented IO designers have created for you:

The fun isn't over!!  Tomorrow we will have beautiful new summer images from artist Gary Robertson, as only he can do them.  His images are loved by those who like detail with pen and ink drawings for their images. See you tomorrow with more fun creations!
