And why am I an Angry Ballerina? Did my mother make me wear a piggy costume? Nope, not at all, but she did enroll me in ballet lessons when I was 4 years old. Apparently I quite loved the class, but if you read my entry on Thursday, you'll already be aware that I have two left feet when it comes to organized dance! I must say though, at the age of four, I was absolutely adorable and could get away with it a little better! Both years that I danced, a recital was held at Trenton High School. My mother spent hours weaving small braids and bubbles into my mass of golden curls........making pretty eyes with liner and glossy pink lips, I was a princess in the making. All decked out in rose tulle with silver slippers, the epitomy of sweetness, I was ready to dance. And did I dance. The lights dimmed, the curtain rose and it was our cue to flutter out on the stage to greet our audience in a graceful manner.
And so the ballerinas fluttered out on their tippie toes, arms gently rising and falling in sync, but not me.........not the ANGRY BALLERINA................being the taller one, I held up the rear.........kaboom, kaboom, KABOOM.............. I trounced onto the stage, only to position myself in the middle of pack, hands on hips and bottom lip pooched out, much to the chagrin of my mother and the amusement of the audience! Needless to say, we made it through the number and my group got chosen for a picture on the front page of the Trenton Memorial Newspaper.
A year passes and I have become an experienced Angry Ballerina............once again enrobed in the finest of ballet attire, each hair in place it was time to grace the world with my presence once again.............kaboom, kaboom, KABOOM.................oh no, here she comes again. The audience cracked up, one man laughing so hard says my mom, that he fell out of his chair. For the second year in a row, our group made the paper (I have the clipping laminated and on my bulletin board at work and if I think of it one day, will post the picture so you can witness the sass for yourself!). Needless to say, my mother decided that Ballet Dancing wasn't my forte. I was a little disappointed but got the opportunity to be a show stopper once again, when in the Autumn, mom enrolled me in Figure Skating...........and that, my friends, is another story in the making!
How do you like this Sugar Rush DP? It's the latest and greatest from Basic Grey! There is some very cool patterns in this pack! Flowers are new and from Bo Bunny and of course Ms. Prima B is coloured in Copics!
