CPS 280 Live & Love

Sometimes creating "stampless" cards is fun! When I saw this sketch, I new that it would be perfect for the Weekend Market Papers and Embellishments that I received in my designer package from Scrappin Great Deals. If you want to play along with the sketch, be sure to head on over to the CPS blog to check it out! I love the earthy tones and the distressed look of this collection.

Christmas Clean and Simple

I created this clean and simple card for Impression Obsession DT Thursday. It really is an understated card, but I just wanted to focus on the sweet image. Rather than embellish the card with a lot of colour, I chose to add some glitter snow and some Viva Pearl Pen to the buttons for added dimension.

I love snow people and IO has a great selection available in the online store including this Nativity Snow Family. The little bit of colour I added comes from my Touch Markers and includes:

R3, R2 for the Snowlady's cape
PB74 and PB76 for Snowmans Scarf and B66 and B64 for his head piece.
The shading was completed with BG179 and the creche with WG1, 3, and 5

Hope you enjoy my simple creation

Triple Threat!! CPS279, Touch Challlenge 23-Good Eats and TSOL

Hey Everybody!!! Hope all is well in your world. Still plugging away here. Dealing with some health issues and this week i'm studying for my final exam for my summer course. Will be glad to have that over with, then I can say ONE down, SEVEN to go! If I can focus, I'll be sharing the fact that I will soon be graduating, right about this time next year! YAY~~~

So I'm killing a few birds with one stone here. I LOVE how this card turned out! I wasn't sure if it would work with this weeks CPS sketch, but I managed to be able to combine the Touch Twin "Good Eats" challenge with this weeks CPS sketch, which just happens to be be sponsored by The {Stamps} of Life, who have just released these brand spanking new Wavy Border Dies today!

I coloured my Cake image  fairly simply with just a few marker colours! Here is the colour map for your perusal. I really like how the Florescent Yellow combined with the Florescent  Green make the cake plate POP!!!! I needed something to pop off the paper, since I played with a lot of fun patterns. In addition to using the wavy dies as both vertical and horizontal borders, I also cut the bottom of the card to have a wavy edge! I think this card looks fun and fresh!

Impression Obsession Challenge-Shades of Grey and Yellow!

Yep! A grey and yellow challenge this week. I just added the "shades" of grey in because of all of the hype with the SOG series. Haven't read them yet and don't plan to anytime soon....too much on my plate and most of what I'm reading lately is associated with lectures. By this time next year, I hope to be graduating from University! This is more of a personal goal than a career goal and although it might help with regard to having some more flexibility at work, it's not a career dependent thing, but rather a matter of self satisfaction. My father once shared a story of a lady that owned a home in which he boarded as a young man. Although he only lived there briefly, he often went back to visit Mrs Campbell. Mrs Campbell worked diligently on University courses over her lifetime and was well into her 70's when she acquired her BA! Soooo that is my inspirational share for today.

Want to play along with the challenge? Get all the details and post your card on the IO stamps blog HERE. For my card, I used this gorgeous Pumpkin Stack stamp. I see that our sweet Shirley posted a wonderful tutorial using this stamp earlier this week in the blog! YUMMY!!!

Isn't this sentiment adorable? I am loving the sizing of the font here!!! Paper is from Bazzil

It's really difficult to do a colour Map for this images, so I'll give you the list of markers instead

Border and Moon Y35, YR31
Green Leaves: GY48, Y41
Orange Leaves: YR24, YR23
Red Leaves: R2, R4
Basket: BR97, YR29
Pumpkins: Y35, Yr23, YR24, and R14

CPS278 Trick or Treat

Hi all! Well it looks like I won't be able to recover my pictures from my blog. BIG bummer, but there are worse things that people have to endure every day, so no point in awfulizing it, i'll just keep posting and once I get through this exam that I am writing next week, I'll learn how to make my own blog header! Now that should be fun. Here's my CPS card for this week. I just LOVE this fun sketch, which inspired me to use my bat punch!

You should see all the fun interpretations of this sketch over on the CPS Blog! The ideas are fabulous!

The Stamps of Life is the Sponsor for August and I pulled out this oldie but goodie Thanks2fall set
The paper is from Graphic 45 and both the bat punch and the greenery are from Martha Stewart!

Hope you're having a great week!

CPS 277 For Jon

Hi all! If you've been around to my blog in the last several days, you may be wondering what the heck happened to it. Actually so have I, but I think I know what happened. I had sent my cell phone out for repair and when I got it back and set up my accounts, it synced with everything attached to my google account. I went into my phone and noticed thousands of pictures in attachments on my phone. I didn't figure I needed all these photographs on there, so I deleted the photos.....apparently they were also deleted on my blog :-(     Little did I know THAT would happen .UGH! Anyway, I'm not SURE that is what happened, still investigating and trying to retrieve the deleted photos on my phone. I'll just keep posting and eventually build up a gallery again!

This card was made with the CPS sketch for this week and also for my son Jonathon, who turned 16 yesterday! Our big event for the day was to go to the Drivers Centre so that he could obtain his G1 Drivers licence! He managed to get it on the first try, so he was able to chauffeur me around for a bit yesterday!  That was fun, if not a touch nerve wracking!

There's my Birthday Boy~

Going to keep this short and sweet, but if you'd like to play along with the challenge, be sure to visit the CPS Blog!
