Just be yourself

I'm really enjoying my tenure on the Paper Loft Design Team. One of the main reason's why is that it has whet my appetite for scrapbooking again. It's something that I have got away from over the years as my focus has been mainly on making cards. I have a lot of pictures and stories that need to be told, so I see this opportunity as a real opportunity to get back to my roots. If I hadn't have started Scrapbooking, I would have never discovered stamping. I like the fact that I can use both in my creations

For this page, I used papers from the Easy Breezy Scrapbook line. I also incorporated some fun stamps and dies from The {Stamps} of Life- Postage2stamp and Postmarks2stamp. How fun! I also used Fancy Labels 4 to create a little embellishment to the right of Jon's picture.

This page is SO appropriate for Jon. He is totally his own person and I'm very proud of him for that.
I really don't know how much I've been an influence in that regard, but I do know that he is far more his own person at 16 years of age, than I was at 25.

Hope you're enjoying this post as much as I enjoyed creating the page!

Bellarific Friday-Getting Sketchy!

This week the Bellarific Challenge was a sketch challenge! How Fun!

Don't you just love this sketch?

For my card, I used this pretty Frosty image

I coloured my image up with my Prism Pencils. I haven't used them in a very long time and I wanted a soft look for this card. I really like how it turned out
I paired this image up with Paper from the Hooked on  Fishing Line over at the Paper Loft. Funny that this works quite nicely for a winter card don't you think? Make sure you head on over to Blogabella to see all the fabby creations!  Next weeks Challenge:

Take 3

Use 3 different papers and 3 Embellishments on your card!

Today's Challenge is to create a Halloween Project. As you know, m parents are having a Halloween Themed Anniversary Party this year. I wanted to create a Guest Book that was keeping in with the theme. I used some fun Halloween Papers from Paper Loft, combined with the Halloween Hill Die and a couple of fun stamps to add a little dimension to the Guest Pages.

This stamp is the Tree of Life

This one is Bird Collage 4. I used that on my Invitations as well. LOVE LOVE LOVE this stamp!

Bella Blue!

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend. I had an amazing time away with my great friends. Although the weather left a little to be desired, just catching up with my best girls made it feel super sunny!

I created this card with Uptown Girl Ava loves to celebrate

I coloured her with my Touch Markers and used this fabulous paper from the Authentique Genuine Collection as my background. Stickles and Glitter finish the card of nicely I think!

Here's my Colour  Map

Have a fabulous day,

Bellarific Spookarific Friday

It's a very scary day over at Stamping Bella!!! This week's challenge is to create a Halloween themed card! I LOVE Halloween. If you were reading my blog earlier this week, you know that we are even having a Halloween theme for my Parent's 50th Wedding Anniversary. How cool is THAT??? Very cool, me thinks!!!!

For my card, I used this Fabulous be-witched ATUDE image! I coloured her with my Touch Markers and have included my colour map for your perusal!

The Purple DP is from the K& Co. Halloween Collection, the Newsprint from MME Cowboy

Happy Times at the Orchard

I really enjoyed scrapping these pictures as now that Jon is 16, the annual fall trip to the Orchard has gone by the wayside. Each year, we used to travel along Lake Ontario toward Picton to pick our own apples. Unlike the massive amounts of strawberries that one ingests during a picking session, a couple of apples fresh from the tree were quite satisfying.

Our Cousin Faye would join in on the fun. Later, we'd make applesauce and apple crisp and of course supply Grandma with some of the fruit to make some apples pies. Yum!

For this Layout, I used Coordinating Paper from The Funkysaurus Line over at the Paper Loft. Great Papers in addition to the Happy Times cardstock accessories and the Funkysaurus alphabet. I was very pleased with the way it turned out!

This weekend I'm off to the Parkhill Area for the Annual Jactopia weekend

That means I get to spend time with my BFF Jacqui..........

and see our friends from the West!!! WE WILL MISS YOU JEN!

My sweet Laura Boo are off on a road trip tomorrow. We always have a BLAST on our adventures and it's been awhile since we've had a weekend away! So by late tomorrow evening, we'll have slipped into some comfy clothes..probably jammies and be stamping away! Actually I think I'll be colouring as I don't feel like toting too much stuff.....I really just need a weekend away right now with my BFF's~

Check in tomorrow for Bellarific Friday

Happy Stamping!

Home is where the Heart is....

Isn't that the truth? I know that at times, my home can be quite chaotic as is the norm from time to time in everyone's household, but it really is my haven. Coming home at the end of a busy day is comforting. I haven't moved around much in my lifetime, so my sense of home....home being Kingston, is rather consistent. I moved to Kingston when I was 12 and apart from a tenure in the Greater Toronto Area for several years after college, Kingston remains my home. I'm proud to be associated with this Beautiful City. More than that, home is comfortable.....a place where you can relax in your jammies with messy hair and nobody gives a darn. A place where you can rest and refresh yourself for the next day. A place where you gain support from your loved ones, share your adventures and often a good belly laugh or two and at my house a place that I come to where my little furball is there to greet me as if I've been gone for a month, rather than hours. Home IS where my heart is.......

Touch Twin Challenge 27

Welcome to the TTC27 Touch Twin Challenge!
The challenge:

Create a Fall project in monochromatic colors.

For my Project, I was inspired to use these awesome leave dies from IO Stamps Although the dress is pinker than the rest of the image, I used My WG1 Touch Marker to mute all the colours. I think it turned out rather pretty!  I used some smooch Glitz on the wings and under the Sweet Maggie to give it a touch of Oomph!

Bellarific Friday and some Bellarific NEWS!!!!

I have to tell you that i'm OVER THE MOON EXCITED......

YES OVER THE MOON

The moon was full this week and i'm still over it.........

WHY???

Because I have joined the ranks of the fabulous Bellarific Babes!!!

Just Pinch me now.....

OUCH, not THAT hard!!!! lol.....perhaps you're thinking i'm delusional as well???

It's such an honour to be working with such a talented group of stampers and Em's Fabulous Stamps!

I remember the first time I met Emily at CHA, gosh that must have been about 6 or 7 years ago. I just took to her right away and thought she was Super Cool. So here I am now with a comfy spot on her team. Yay for me!!!!

This weeks challenge is a sketch challenge

I used Uptown Girl Molly Makes a Detour!

She is ADORABLE!

I love how the Paper Loft Gentler Times worked so well with this image! As you can see, I even decorated the inside of my card! The muted colours are gorgeous!!! What about the little flower? I used my Touch Markers to colour it to match my paper!

And here's my Colour Map!
I used WG 1 Lightly over the Suitcases to give them a bit of a distressed look

Impression Obsession Challenge-It's a Party (and what a party it will be!)

This week's challenge for me is perfect because this month at my house we're having a Party!
A HUGE HUGE Party!

My Mom and Dad are celebrating their 50th Anniversary on the 27th of October.
My Mom especially LOVES a celebration and loves to party.
No demure Anniversary Celebration here, it's going to be a big bash!

Since their Anniversary is so close to Halloween, she decided that she wanted to have a Costume Party
So, we're going to do it. What started with a few invitations (about 30) came forth and multiplied! I think I just finished the 95th last night.

But more about that in a bit, I want to tell you about my "Party" card first.
Don't you love this big sentiment? It's fun, because it's big enough to paper piece if you want. I chose to colour it with my Touch Markers. What about those Spooky Cobwebs? No need for background paper, I made my own! This is a huge CAC Spider Web stamp. FUN!!!! I also used Border Duo 3 to ground the fabby wide ribbon! Some Diamondy Smooch Glitz Jazzed up the letters a litte more and I sprayed the sentiment with Dylusions Ink Spray to increase the festivity factor! I had some batty friends left over from the invites, so I embellished away!! Sure glad they're not alive!

Since I had so many invites to make, I wanted to keep them fairly simple. The first 30 were all hand sponged, which looked gorgeous, but to spare the risk of carpal tunnel, I decided not to sponge the rest and added a stamp over the printing and tore the botton edges

On this one, I used Stars

On this one, Bird Collage 4

Of course my post would not be complete without my Touch Twin Colour Map!

Hope you'll play along.

This week we have

Jeanne
Jenny
Julie
Daniela

Playing

Happy Stamping and I can't WAIT to share pics from the Party!
