Outlines Monday! Designer Challenge-Pick A Posy!

This week, the Outlines DT was challenged to work with the Pick a Posy Stamps! Outlines has a fabulous amount of layered flowers in various shapes and sizes. For my Card, I chose Pointed Posies, in Small, Medium and Large. I stamped my images onto light pink cardstock and then using Copic Markers in the R-80's series, added some shading to add some additional dimension to the flowers. I added some foam dimensionals between each flower layer to pop it off the paper. I used Posy Leaf 1 as Foliage. Just a wee touch of Peony Pink Flowersoft to the middle of the flower finished off the look! I love how the Peony FS matched the colours in the card so nicely!

Make sure you follow the links on the sidebar to check out the rest of the Outline's DT Creations!

And the winner of my little Blog Candy offering from last week is Candi. I so appreciated all your nice comments on that post and for anyone who didn't win and made a comment last week, I'd love to send you one of my handmade cards, if you email me your snail mail address to vickig@kos.net. Again, I can't even express how much your following means to me!

Hugs and Love,

Crazy4Challenges #72 Vintage Valentine

Today, our Hostess Extraordinaire, Maria has challenged us to create a project in a Vintage, Distressed or Shabby Chic Style! I'm holding a Copics Class next week and this is one of the cards that we're going to create in that class! I created my card by colouring this sweet Magnolia image and Magnolia Rose with Copic Markers. I toned down the brightness of the image, the papers and the wee crocheted flower with Antique Linen Distress Ink by Tim Holtz.

The Designer Papers are also from Tim Holtz. I stamped the circle with Score stamp from the Music of my Heart set from Unity Stamp Co. and distressed the edges of the circle with the Antique Linen ink. The Tiny Tag Punch and Love Stamp are from Stampin' Up!

Make sure you link up your projects to the C4C blog and follow the links on my sidebar to check out the Splendiferous Crazies Creations!

Have a wonderful weekend and Happy Stamping of course!

Pretty Butterflies and Sweet Dragon Flies

Love these winged things? These are two cards I created with the January Release Sets from the {Stamps} of Life. The first card features Butterfl2build. I love the level of ease that these sets allow you to accomplish clean and simple cards so quickly.

These two cards are created with the Creations2full stamp set. Lot's of fun creating with these too!!! I'm not much of a techniquey stamper, but I did have fun creating the background for the first card.

In addition to Creations2fill, this set also features Flower2build, which is a fun big flower (the mid sized pink flower, the smaller flower is found in Creations2fill). I really love how Stephanie has designed a lot of her sets to work together! Brilliant!

I have to say that I'm feeling a little bummed about sitting here in Ontario today. As many of my friends have arrived in California for the CHA show, I'm feeling a little sorry for myself ;-(
I hope that they all have the best time there and I'm hoping to catch the Chicago Show this Summer. One saving grace is that I'm off to New York City for a long weekend in May. I'm pretty excited about this as I will be doing this with my DS Jonathon, My Mom and My Dad and some other favourite people! I've never been to NYC and am really looking forward to visiting the Historical Sites, Ground Zero and of course I totally hope to catch at least one Broadway Show as I've always been a great fan of musicals! Ahhh the weekend is coming on fast! Any plans?

This weekend I'm going out to see my Friends' Brothers Band. I think a night of dancing my face off should take my mind off the balmy California weather. I'm also having a couple of my good friends over Saturday afternoon for a little stamping AND if the weather is good, joining some more pals for Ice Fishing. Although we don't have a hut, I'm hoping that it won't be so cold that we'll freeze our hinies off out there! I have a lot planned and am looking forward to next week when I launch my Winter/Spring Classes. I LOVE teaching and having the ladies over to create!

Hope you have a Great weekend!

Just wanted you to know.......................

No projects to share today...........just wanted you to know how much I appreciate your visits to my blog. Your lovely comments mean so much to me. Sometimes I feel horrible that I don't reciprocate as much with visits to your blog. With only so many hours in a day, working full time, playing taxi driver to my dear son, designing, doing classes and such, It's hard to find time to spend on the internet.

I have met so many wonderful people through stamping........online, face to face and just through acquaintance. This community is such a huge part of my life and it's the wonderful relationships that mean so much to me. I'll try to be better about squeezing some time in to visit you.

Leave a little comment and I'm going to send out a wee token of my appreciation to one random winner as a little thank you for your support and following. I'll be picking on Sunday!

Back on Wednesday with another project!

Happy Stamping!

Outlines DT and a Totally Stampalicious Challenge

Ahhhh Monday............here it is again. The weekends seem to roll by so fast and before you even have time to enjoy it, it's time to get back into the Work and School routine!!! Oh well, I guess we can look at it as only four more sleeps until Friday! lol...........I'm sharing two challenge cards with you today. The first one is the Outlines DT Challenge, which is to create a square themed card. For my card, I used Candles Square Large. I love that you can either colour the entire image, or as I've done, stamp it multi times onto different coloured paper to make interesting layers.

I coloured the candles with Copic Markers and added a wee bit of glitter to the flames for some zippy pizzaz! I then used the Viva Decor Pearl Pen (silver), available HERE at the Outlines Store. The card base is a precut embossed card from DCWV. Make sure to follow the links on my sidebar to see what the uber talented design team has created. Bev is taking this week off as she's a little under the weather.........if you wish, it would be lovely if you could send some feel better soon prayers her way!

My second card is brought to you by TOTALLY STAMPALICIOUS! They have a fun challenge each Monday and today it's a Pink and Red theme. I used Stampalicious Scarlette as my Main Lady today. The neat thing about this fun stamp set is that she's not available for purchase, but can be yours with every $50.00 purchase. I also coloured her up with Copic Markers and used a little Pretty in Pink Craft ink to sponge the edge of the Nestabilities Die. If you want to see all the details of the challenge and how you can win a prize by playing along, head on over to the TS Blog and of course the Stampalicious DT have the yummiest creations to share with you........just follow the links!

Happy Stamping!

C4C71-It's Sketchy!

This week, Maria brings us a fabulous Sketch to play with! I love sketches and think that I should use them more often! I usually free lance it when it comes to designing cards, but I find that having a sketch for inspiration can give me some great ideas in a pinch! For my card, I used this fabulous set from the {Stamps} of Life -Shamrocks4us. I especially like the sentiment.......Kiss me I'm Irish......well at least for today! Way Cute! DP and Ink are from Stampin' Up! I found the sweet ribbon at Michaels a couple of years ago, but am only getting around to using it now!

Here's the Sketch if you'd like to play along! Make sure to link up your creation on the C4C Blog! and follow the links on my sidebar to see what my fellow Crazies have created for you. I've had a sneak peeks and all I can say is WOW!!!!

Outlines Monday Design Team Challenge-Sweet Cakes

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

This week over at Outlines, we were challenged to create a Sweetheart Themed card.  This Tall Heart Cakes image is perfect for a sweetheart themed card!. I think it’s a gorgeous image. The XOXO sentiment is simply adorable and I love the ability to change up the look of these sentiments based on their layered look.

Make sure you check out the fabby DT cards by following the links to the Outlines Team on my sidebar.

Believe it or not, I used Autumn themed paper from Basic Grey on this card, the soft pinky mauvy muted colours matched the chocolate coloured cake with the yummy pink candy hearts.

Have a wonderful week! I’m coming down with a bit of a cold and resemble rudolph or W.C. Fields with my big red nose! I’ve been pretty lucky to avoid the flu and colds so far this winter, so I guess I’m due!

The Frame is cut out allowing one to fill the interior of the card. I used a Rub On from SU~! for the sentiment and created a white dot border with a Signo Gel Pen. I just adore the little ducky on Baby Bubblebath’s head.

Stampotique Designer Challenge 22 Put your best Mask On!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

I’m really excited to be hosting Stampotiques very first challenge of 2011. As you know, Stampotique has just had a Design Team call……..watch for some fresh new Designers to compliment some of our seasoned stampers!

I’m challenging you to use an type of Masking Technique on your card……….Put on your best mask!

For my card, I started out with a plain white Card. I cut a piece of Cardstock 6"x6" to match the size of the card front. From that 6x6 sheet, I cut a circle in the middle, allowing me to use the cardstock and the circle as a mask. First I adhered the circle to the middle of my cardfront. Then I took Tim Holtz Tea Dye ink and sponged the entire front of the card. I then took the honey comb background stamp and stamped over the front of the cardstock in Tea Dye to create a tone on tone look. I then took the Button Stamp and stamped the upper half of the card in Walnut Stain ink. Then it was time to remove the circle from the middle of the card and place the 6x6 cut out mask over the borders, so that I could work on the central images on my creation.

First I stamped Leopard Queen in the circle and on a Sticky Note. I then lay the mask over her and stamped in the Mushroom Group around her. I coloured her with Copic Markers and added some stickles to her wings for some additional bling!

Make sure that you peek down to see the rest of the DT creations, you'll see various sorts of masking in all it's glory!

Now onto the rules of the Challenge:

Since it's the first challenge of the month, you are welcome to use stamps from any company. Of course, if you have Stampotique images, we'd love you to include them in your project! Just add your project below to be included in the draw for a fabulous $30 gift certificate to the Stampotique Store!

*only one entry per person please, additional entries will be deleted*

hope you'll play along,

Vicki

Outlines Design Team Monday Challenge and Product Highlight-Viva Pearl Pens

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Today, the Design Team challenges you to create a Valentine’s Themed card. What better image to convey love, than Sparkle Love

I coloured the image with Copic Markers. Cerise Looks very pretty shaded with Red! To add a wee bit of dimension to the plain card base, I used the Large Dotted Background stamp. It just happens to be 20% off at the Outlines Online Store now

This week, we’re also featuring the Viva Pearl Pens. I love the way the pen allows you to create pearl shapes and the fact that the pearl keeps it shape and doesn’t take on the look of soft served ice cream cone! I used the Lilac Pen on my project, but you can find all the pens HERE

Don’t forget to follow the links on my sidebar to see all the fabulous design team creations and if you’d like to learn more about the DT, follow this LINK

This is my second post for today, so if you’ve missed something, keep scrolling down!

A Totally Stampalicious Challenge!

Good Morning! Hope that you all enjoyed a nice weekend..........ahhh back to the grind this week, all festivities are over at my house.........looks like Gus and Gus are back in action too!  This weeks challenge is to use two different TS Stamp sets in your creations! These two images are from Totally Stampalicious..........Mr. Fixit and New Truck Gus.

I created the scene by Using a Top Note Diecut as a mask to create a border for the sky and grass. I then sponged in Green, Grey and Blue Ink. Grass was made by using strokes of Green Copic. Additional dimension was created in the grass by using some Ultrafine Sage Flowersoft. I love how just a sprinkle of Flower Soft here and there can add so much to a creation!

Make sure you check out the Totally Stampalicious Blog to get all the deets regarding the challenge and to check the side bar to be sure to look at all the fabby creations created by my dt sisters!

Crazy4Challenges 69

Hey it's that time again! Maria is back with another challenge! Hope you are all having a fabulous Saturday! Are you ready to be challenged? Well, this week IMaria decided that a color inspiration challenge would be fun. I found a photo with colors I really liked. I just thought it was a pretty picture so this week's challenge is to create a card using the colors in the photo inspiration.

If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project, and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C69. Don't forget to come back here and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The inspiration photo exuded Romance to me and what caught my eye was the Pink and Ivory Motif. I was going to incorporate some brown into my creation, but apart from the hair, I just couldn’t fit it in with my theme.

Pretty Ballerina Maggie is coloured with Copic Markers and the large flowers that adorn the card are also from Magnolia.

Hope you all have a fabulous weekend.
