This Saturday Past...............

I had the awesome pleasure of joining my Mother and two of our friends on a short jaunt over to the Greenhouses in Glenburnie Ontario, to create a fresh Christmas Wreath. What a pretty pretty spot. The smell of Pine, Cedar and Fir was incredible and could influence even Scrooge to get into the Christmas Spirit!

My Beautiful Mother ( I know, i've said this before, but I can only hope that I'm as beautiful as she at 70 years of age. To your left is Lori and Colleen on the right.
These are two of her "adopted" daughters. My Mom is very young at heart and a number of her friends are actually the same age as me!

We were provided with all kinds of Nature's Goodness to use in our creations!

I love the Soft Sage Colour

Very Pleasing to the Eye.

A lovely relaxed time...........I don't spend far enough time doing these things with my Mother. It was a really nice reminder of how much I enjoy spending time with her

Mom's wreath in progress

The Final Product

Thanks Dad for getting it mounted so quickly

Hope it stays fresh until Christmas!

SDC#20- Got enough Bling to Perk up your Peepers!

This weeks challenge over at the Stampotique Designer's challenge is to add a little bit o' bling to your card! Well, I don't think you can get much "blingier" than this! It's a lollapolalooza of bling here! In fact I almost had to put my sunglasses on to take my photograph! lol......just kidding. Actually, this looks just a little prettier in real life.

I coloured my Five Candles Large image wiht Copic Markers. I then added some Jelly Roll Stardust pen to the candles and rubbed it around to give them that little bit of metallic look that Christmas Candles often have. This small Peace on Earth sentiment was the perfect size to add onto my Scalloped circle.

This week's challenge is a Stampotique exclusive challenge, so be sure to use Stampotique images only for your entry. One random winner will receive a generous gift certificate! Be sure to check the Designers Challenge Blog for all the details, to link up your creation and to see all the bedazzling cards that the very talented team have created for your viewing pleasure

Supplies:

Stamps: Five Large Candles, Peace on Earth-Stampotique
Paper: Eggplant CS-SU DP from Making Memories
Ribbon: Michaels Xmas Collection
Punches: Circle, Scallop Circle, Window Tag and Photo Corner-SU!

The {Stamps} of Life and P.K. Glitter make pretty cards!

Today I wanted to share a card with you that combines TSOL Trees2build along with some delicious glitter from P.K. Glitz! This was actually a quick and easy card to make. I stamped the large tree image onto some patterned paper. Then I cut it out and using my Versamark Glue pad, I stamped the leaves and swirls, individually adding the glitters as I went. The glitter is from the the Fall Collection of Glitters........sooo pretty!

Be sure to check out the P.K. Glitz Blog today, where they'll be featuring stamps from The {Stamps} of Life

TS Monday-Warm up with a Hot Chuppa!

Today's challenge is to incorporate a hot beverage into your creation! I think that although my creation says "perks" I would prefer some nice Hot Chocolate or Green Tea in my cup Thank you! I LOVE LOVE LOVE the smell of Coffee Brewing, but can't seem to get past the taste, no matter what I add to it...........nope, not even a little nip of Bailey's or Kahlua can entice me to drink the stuff. It's WAY too bitter for me.................Now a little Amaretto in black tea is quite lovely. Have you ever had it? It's called Blueberry Tea. Funny because Amaretto is an Almond Liquer, however when combined with Tea, it does take on the flavour of Blueberry.

So if you'd like to play along with the challenge, head on over to the Totally Stampalicious Blog to get all the details and to link up your creation!

The sentiment on my card hails from the newly released Attitude Ruby Set. If you scroll down one post, you can view one of the main character images in this sweet new set!

Supplies:

Stamps: Attitude Ruby Totally Stampalicious
Paper: Dark Brown-DP Oliver-Basic Grey

If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project, and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C64. Don't forget to go backand link it on Mr Linky on the C4C site, so that everyone else can see it too.

1964 was a good year! I'm a little partial to it, because that's the year that I was born. Here's some fun facts !

1964

Number 1 Song of the year: I want to hold your hand-The Beatles
Number 1 Movie-Dr. Strangelove-
I prefer the number 2 Movie, Mary Poppins!
Bewitched Debuted on September 17th 1964- I LOVED that show!
Nicholas Cage, Sandra Bullock, Clive Owen, Keanu Reeves and that DREAMY Matt Dillon were all born in this year!
1964 was the year of the Dragon!
It was a Leap Year!
A Loaf of Bread was 21 cents-Yikes!
The First Ford Mustang is Made-maybe that's why I'm driving my 3rd 'stang!
Sidney Poitier becomes the first black actor to win an oscar
G.I. Joe is launched by Hasbro as the first "boy" action figure
The Rolling Stones release their Debut Album

Now back to my card! I used Attitude Ruby, one of the new release stamps from Totally Stampalicious.
She's coloured with Copics. I punched 7/8" and 1" circles to add a wee bit of dimension to my card base and to fulfill the challenge requirements. Button is from Stampin' Up!

WOW!!! It would be REALLY Cool to see the challenge players surpass the number of players we've had this week.

Be sure to head over to the C4C blog to get the links to the Fabby DT to see their creations! I have to get those links loaded to my blog sometime over the weekend

Happy Stamping!

Goldie Makes a Wish!

For the Totally Stampalicious Blog Hop, Click HERE

I wish that there were just a few extra weeks before Christmas will arrive as it seems to be coming on like a fast train! I think I will get around to starting my decorating next weekend, but what I really need to do is to get some more Christmas Cards created! As you all know and as I'm sure that you've experienced, hand made cards are an expectation from friends and family!
I have to say I've been a wee bit neglect in getting those completed! I did however run a couple of classes in which we made Christmas Themed cards, so I'm thankful that I have those at least!

I created this card for a couple of challenges. I was very inspired by the colour challenge at the Play Date Cafe and this is my second entry for the My Favourite Things Challenge over at Impression Obsession. Christmas is one of my favourite seasons and I love pets! Over my lifetime I've owned cats, dogs, hamsters, fish, rabbits and well, I even had a horse named after me............lol..........Yep, My Grandfather raised, trained and raced Standard Bred Horses. All of the Grandchildren had horses named after them...........Ours was Vicki Sue, named after myself and my cousin Suzanne, who are closest in age. Needless to say Vicki Sue was not swift and agile, nor did she run like the wind........she did however produce some fine babies who went on to greatly contribute to my grandfather's pocket book. My grandfather was also a lover of animals and there were always plenty of strays around the farm......... including the friends he'd bring in for dinner, much to my grandmother's angst. Anyway, I recall one year they purchased a cow, with the intention of fattening it up for future Sunday dinners. His approach to raising the beautiful big eyed creature greatly contributed to the eventual demise of his plan. First and foremost, it is NOT a good idea to give the Pot Roast a name. It's probably not favourable to pet, nuzzle and scratch behind Moose Moose's ears while you are feeding him, particularly when he is supposed to end up between two buns. Needless to say, we all coddled and nurtured Moose Moose, Grandpa kept him around for quite some time and he did have the heart to make a meal out of him.....actually I'm not sure if he was a him or her........don't know much about beef cattle, but I sure do remember those beautiful brown eyes and the relief to hear that Grandma was not going to be whipping up familiar bovine surprises!

I've always wanted a Golden Retriever........they seem like such friendly and loving dogs. I did have two huskies at one time, but unfortunately, like me, Jonathon had severe animal allergies as a baby and my Husky Chinook found a new home out on that very farm where grandfather lived and cares for his menagerie. I guess that I will settle for having animal stamps now....although Jon has outgrown his allergies to a certain degree, I just don't feel like enduring the added responsibilities of being a pet owner at this time. This sweet Stamp.....Goldie on Ornament is available over at Impression Obsession

Supplies

Stamp: Goldie on Ornament-Impression Obsession, Sentiment, SU
Ink: Memento Black
Paper: Discount Cardstock.com Stampin' Up

Impression Obsession Challenge-My Favourite Things

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

Cream colored ponies and crisp apple streudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things

Girls in white dresses with blue satin sashes
Snowflakes that stay on my nose and eyelashes
Silver white winters that melt into springs
These are a few of my favorite things

When the dog bites
When the bee stings
When I'm feeling sad
I simply remember my favorite things
And then I don't feel so bad

Impression Obsession has a very fun challenge on this week! It's to create a card with the Theme of My Favourite Things. I have to tell you that I love this song. When I was expecting, I sang this song to my babies........

Snowmen are absolutely one of my favourite things.... I have an immense collection of the sweet fellows that I put up just before Christmas and leave until Spring. In fact it's hard to take them down.....I would have them in the house all year long if it was up to me, but my son is like TAKE THEM DOWN ALREADY, It's JULY Mom...lol......so this stamp, A STAR IS BORN totally appeals to me, along with the wonderful assortment of snowman stamps that you can find over at Impression Obsession!

I coloured my image with a light application of Copic Marker and Sponged around with SU Cool Caribbean Ink. White Gel Pen assisted in adding a wee flurry! The DP is from MME Winter Collecton...........so pretty!

Be sure to head on over to the IO Blog to play along with the challenge. One Random Player will receive a gift certificate for $25.00 You have until November 19th to submit your challenge card!

What a weekend!

I had the best weekend with my Best Friend Jacqui and my closest Kingston Girlfriends, Laura, Darlene and Andreanne. The Kingston Girls have not really gotten together since before the summer for a good crafting day so it was long overdue. We usually meet at my place, because I have the most space. So here's to more crafty days with my girls.

Jax brought a sample of this Christmas Countdown Calendar made by another very special girlfriend Kim. So off we were to make some of these. I think that Jax said that she is going to make ten of them to sell, whereas I thought I'd do one or two. It's really an altered clipboard with one of those magnet sheets from the $$$ store behind the striped panel, to allow magnets behind the tags to cling to the board.

My Dad kindly drilled out the Clipboard Clips so that we could cover them with a level of ease.......then we were off to Rona to find some Screws to reassemble the board after........so if you see this project and you think you'd like to make it.......the screw size is 6-32 3/8" with 6-32 bolts. I am quite informed about the various shapes and sizes of screws, thanks to the screwing expert at Rona (hehe! Jax and I had a little fun with him!). Well, maybe I'm just screwy!

I got some good use out of the Cricut in assembling the letters, ornaments and Shapes on the Board. I used the Storybook and Winter Woodland Cartridge......or was it the other Christmas one?? hmmmm can't quite remember.

The Yummy DP is from My Minds Eye. The extra tags hang in a little bag that is affixed to the back of the clipboard. Lastly, a Border of Blingy Silver Flower soft completes the fun and whimsical theme of this project!

I am SO blessed to have my girlfriends in my life. Sometimes life has a way of catching up and your priorities focus on other things........it's just such a good feeling that we all come back to each other despite the distance. I want to say THANK YOU for all your love and support this weekend. You helped me put some things into perspective and give me strength to make the decisions that are healthy for me. I love you all very much and am so grateful for your gift of friendship

Love and Hugs,

C4C 63- Christmas is upon us!

Happy Saturday everyone,

Thank you to everyone who played along with last week's challenge, your square cards were all awesome!

With Christmas only week's away, our challenge hostess for the month Cindy Haffner has challenged us to create a Christmas card or item.

If you would like to play along with us, all you have to do is create a card/project, and upload it to your blog and/or to your SCS Gallery using the keyword C4C63. Don't forget to go back to the Crazy for Challenges Blog and link it on Mr Linky so that everyone else can see it too.

Soooooo are you wondering where I've been??? I've been wondering too~ Nah, just kidding ACTUALLY my father, while dismantling an obsolete Television Antennae Tower inadverdently lopped of the wires for our internet connection.........................GASP~! How awful! It's amazing how dependent one can be on the internet............... I really didn't think I was, but wow! It's been a longggggggggggggggggggggg week~~~

Needless to say, I can share some symptoms of being "internetless":

There is a lack of dust on each and every piece of wooden furniture
All dust bunnies have been banished........ I think I can hear them crying out from the vacuum cannister.
No Bags under my eyes.............. I got plenty of Beauty Sleep this week!
More money in the Bank Account-------Ahem! Get REAL Vicki........a couple trips to Michaels this week leveled it out AGAIN!
My Shower is positively SPARLKY!
Clothes Closet neat and organized.........well actually I had NO choice as my internet connection feeds in through my bedroom, through the closet and into the Kitchen and I didn't want to have to call Search and Rescue to retrieve the repairmen should they have to venture in there!

I could ramble on, but point being, the internet encompasses much more of my time than I realized! It's nice to have everything tidy and organized!

This weekend my Best Friend Jacqui and her son Joel have come to visit! They arrived Wednesday evening and are staying until Sunday. I love her SO much and it's a rare occasion that we spend so much time together! It's wonderful to have someone in your life that even though you aren't face to face often, you remain close in heart. Thanks Jax for all your love and support his weekend, you are my rock!

'kay, now about my card! I used "The Gift" from the Flower Soft Moments in time Collection.

I coloured the image with Copic Markers. The outline of the "sky" is done with Prism Pencils. I added some Polar White Flower Soft to the snow. The DP is from the Basic Grey, Jovial Collection.

Glad to be back in cyber world again! Hope you all have a great weekend!

C4C62-It's hip to be square

I'm SOOOO excited to share that I'm back with C4C and stamping with my crazies. I missed them all so much during my little stamping hiatus, that I couldn't bear to be away any longer. If you've been following my blog, you'll know that C4C is dear to my heart as Frances, Cindy and myself brought this challenge blog into fruition just over a year ago!

This is an amazing team of stampers and wonderful personalities, who have been my long distance friends for quite some time!

This week, our challenge hostess Cindy is challenging us to make a Square Card. For my Project, I used one of the new Stamps of Life November Release sets Flowers to Share. I love these sweet pussy willows. I simply stamped the image onto Kraft Cardstock and then filled in the buds with white gel pen and added a little glitter to the stems.

This yummy paper is from Basic Grey Jovial Collection. The Brown Kraft Envelope will hold a gift card for a dear friend!

Hope that you'll play along! Be sure to visit the C4C blog to get all the details of the challenge and to link your creation up.

Don't forget to check out my crazies creations. I've already had a sneak peek and they are TERRRRRIFIC!!!!

Happy Stamping!
