And now....... a couple of sneak peeks!

Here's a Sneaky Pre Sneak peek of one of the sets that will be released at Hanna Stamps this Thursday February 5th. Sneak peeks don't normally start until Monday, but since Kristi showed this card on the SCS Blog Video, I decided to go ahead and post it!

This set is called in Vogue and in this role, Hanna is one chic Chicka!!! Don't you LOVE her hips!!!! I love the european flavour of the set. It's great for paper piecing as I did on her pants and shopping bags.

Congratulations to Joy, Cammie and Kimberly for their successful debut at CHA this year. Isn't their booth the Sweetest. I beleive I snagged this photo from the Splitcoast Blog as my pictures didn't encapture the dynamic trio together.

Isn't their Booth just SO cute~!! I had the pleasure of making a few samples for the 28 sets that they will release mid February.

These little Fishing Bears are just one many sweet and versatile sets that await you in our our craft lounge. From Cute, to whimsical, elegant to masculine and some just downright humorous, the new sets will appeal to different stamping tastes!

Have a great weekend and watch for more Sneak Peeks from Hanna and OCL this week!

I'm Home (and apparently took the Brrr home from California with me!

I was chatting with Adela this morning ( she is the tall and beautiful lady that is standing way above my short little self!) and she told me that the temperature in California is now in the 70's.......can you believe the luck I have!!! I am sure that I must have brought the cold weather in and out with me. In addition, we have Amanda Sewell and Diana Gibbs......three Giraffe legged ladies that just dwarf me!!! In actuality, I think Diana and Adela come up to my waist........hehe........so I dropped to my knees for this one!

This palm tree looks quite comfortable though, but I needed to wear a sweater to get these early morning snapshots! Although I arrived home safely, there was a slight delay in Toronto to deice the plane. What a Whirlwind of a week!!!! I can't believe it flew by so quickly. So many things and people to see..............

We stepped off the shuttle bus and it was thrilling to see our Jeanne right there!! She had arrived within minutes of us and was our next door neighbour. I just love Jeanne, we got to talk every day in real life, rather than on MSN.........too fun!
Next to her in this photo, is Diana Gibbs

Diana is my Best Friend Jacqui's Sister and I was SO blessed to meet her. She is just like Jacqui, but maybe a wee bit bolder!!!! hehe...................I could only imagine what it would be like to spend time with the both of them. I got to spend a lot of time with Di this week and just love her to bits!!!

One of the first things that needed to be accomplished was to set up the Hanna Booth. ( I think Lori Craig took this picture...........and I swiped it.........taller people tend to get me at an angle that catches less of my chin!!!! Lol Thanks Lori!)

The booth went up quite quickly and nicely I think. The more time Kristi and I spend together, the more similarities we discover.......like the way we pack our suitcases....our left handedness.......traveling with our hundred year old feather pillows.......it's really kind of bizarre. I am so glad we got to spend the week together.

I also got to meet Nancy Elrick, a great chicka who I have known online for several years. In fact, we were paired up in a Secret Santa exchange one year and had so much fun with it!!!! She was in the Copics class with us! What fun!

I met So many nice people at CHA. This is Lisa right above me and her friend and for the life of me, I can't remember her lovely friend's name .............I could guess, but it's probably better to be honest than to dream up a name...........ohhhhh I could go off on a tangent with this, but I'll contain myself. Thanks to editing and a little note from Lisa, our other friend is Susan!!!!

This is Carol, a lovely lady who with her Fantastic Hubby Jim, own Stampotique. I met them and fell in love with their images last year and have been doing designs with their stamps since. I was thrilled to see Carol as she is such a warm person and I wish we lived close so that we could stamp together!!!! Stampotique released some VERY VERY cool, sweet and slightly Macabre images this CHA................Click on my Sidebar to take a peek at what's new over at Stampotique!

I have Way more pictures to show you, but will add a few over the next couple of days!!!!
And after I finish unpacking and do a little photo editing, I'll be back to show you a couple of samples that I created for CHA

One more for the road!!!!

I am SO excited, that I surely won't sleep tonight................Oh well, at least I should be able to catch a little cat nap on the plane....So I thought I would leave you with one more post before I go. I won't have access to a computer for the next week, but I assure you, I have some COOL stuff to share after CHA~!

Lilly and Billy make a sweet little couple don't they? I used real red cardstock and cuttlebugged the card base to give it a wee bit more texture. I layered on some DP that I edged with the SU notebook punch. Then I was looking for an embellie and found this cute little Karen Foster Chalkboard that I had kicking around for ages!!

I stamped the sentiment onto the chalkboard with white craft ink. A little wide grosgrain and a Prima completes the look!!!!

Hope you all have a fabulous week and we'll see you upon my return to the Great White North!!!!

Until then...............be safe and Happy!!!!!

Aloha Kiki

In just TWO more sleeps, I am headed off to California............. I am so excited! I think I might have mentioned that a few times in the last week or so..............Looking forward to the WARM weather......... even if it's cooler than usual, it will sure beat the -20 average temperature that we have been having too much of lately.

Kiki is very excited as well. She has donned her grass skirt and she's off to do the Hula and some surfing in Hawaii......lucky Kiki.

This card was So easy to put together because I used the Crate Paper Static line.......Designer Paper, Brads and adhesive backed chipboard embellishments. I used Kiwi Kiss and Not Quite Navy as my Base Cardstock.

Kiki is one of the newest releases from Pink Cat Studio........you can find the link to the Pink Cat website on my sidebar.

I was inspired by the Splitcoast Sketch Challenge today. Boy oh Boy, Roxie is sure talented when it comes to providing awesome sketches each week. Today was sketch 212 if you can believe it.

I'll see you later!!!! Going to try to squeeze in one more post before I go away

Enjoy your day!

Sweet Treat for a Sweetheart!

Just a quick post with a "Sweet" Project for you.........Nope, I am not tooting my own horn, I say Sweet, because it is a Ginormous Lollipop!!!!!! I am not sure if someone will get this for Valentine's Day, or if I will just eat it myself...........hmmmmmm I could use some extra energy to get my last bit of CHA stamping done! lol

This was a fairly quick project. I Stamped the Lilly and Billy Sweetheart stamps, masking out one of the hearts so that they would overlap. I coloured with Copics and stamped the little sentiment in red. The nice thing about this stamp set, is that there are a lot of little sayings that go with it. I used Real Red, Pixie Pink and Pink Passion Cardstock, cuttlebugging the middle layer for some depth. I used my Cropadile to emboss the dotted pattern around the flower and on the punched heart. Prima Flowers, Wide Riding Hood Red Grosgrain and White Gel Pen finish the project off nicely, if I don't say so myself..........yep, tooting my own horn now!!!!!

So, I have been stamping my fingers to the BONE and am bleary eyed at this point. I hope to dig up a project to share with you before I leave. The GOOD news is, I will have a lot to show you once the yet to be release images I have been working on are released in early February and possibly March!!!! For ONCE in my life, I will be somewhat ahead of myself.

Have a wonderful day and I'll see you soon..............well if the fog clears out of my eyes!!!!!

Featured Stamper Sunday!

Another Lazy Sunday and REALLY it shouldn't be! I have SO much to do before I go to CHA, but I couldn't resist playing the Featured Stamper Challenge over at Splitcoast. Today's stamper is Lori Craig, aka Stamp_Momma I have had the opportunity to meet Lori and she is a lovely lady and her Gallery is just gorgeous. Hop on over and have a peek if you have some time and want to whet your appetite for creativity.

I was inspired by many of the cards in Lori's Gallery, but particularly attracted to this one
As you know, I have been fiddling with my sewing machine lately and I am LOVING it. So this was just another opportunity for me to practice my stitches!!!!!

I used BG Blush DP as my foundation for the Card, along with Prism and SU cardstock. Martha Stewart Border punches added a little interest. I also used Creamy Caramel and Chocolate Chip ink to distress everything! I wanted a dirty, vintagy look, so I pulled out my air arttool from SU and splashed some black over the image after colouring and sponging it. Zipping on a little Dazzling Diamonds Glitter brought some Pizzaz back!!!

Here's a little close up of the image. I used the butterfly stamp that is an accessory in the Pat the Dog Stamp Set from Our Craft Lounge. He is such a cute little guy!!!! Hope you all enjoy your Sunday!!!! I am off to Cheer Jon on in a Bowling Tournament and then home to do some dreaded Laundry!!!!!!

See you soon!

Did I mention I Love My Garden?

No, not my real garden.......in fact, I am a horrible Gardner.........I kind of like winter in the sense that I don't have to look at the flower gardens in the neighbourhood and think about how mine just don't measure up..............I would rather colour and harvest paper flowers!!!!

Both of these images are from the Hanna , I love my Garden set. I think that of all the images, this Hanna is one of the prettiest.........well, my favourite........until next month!!!!!

All of the images that you see here are from Hanna Stamps. Going to keep it short and sweet today because I am trying to get some stamping done before CHA............... If you have any questions about the "construction" of these cards, drop me a line!!!!

Have a great weekend!!!!!

New Riley in the house!!!!!

Isn't he just the cutest???? All star rootin' tootin' Riley Moose, Hockey Player extraordinaire!!!!
There isn't anything that Riley can't seem to do!!!!!

I've always wished for a guy that was athletic, could bake, ski, build snowmen, golf, camp and even iron.............hmmmmmmm but he is a tad short and furry for me!!!! Oh well, better leave him to Sophie!!!!

I created the first card using the Sketch from the Mojo Monday Website. I just discovered this challenge a couple of weeks ago and I LOVE sketch challenges and interesting layouts, so if you are looking for something to stir your creative juices.............head on over and play the challenge!

For this Riley, I used a chocolate, brocade blue and mustard colour combination along with a Burgandy DP from Rusty Pickle.  I coloured the image with Copics and drew in the Boards.  I finished the card of by using lots of punches, circles, stars and my favourite word window punch!

I created an opponent for Riley by using the Hanna Reverse image stamp.  In addition, I used the trees from 'Tis the Season to make an outdoor winter scene.  A little Liquid Applique allowed me to make a little snowbank and of course my gel pen makes sweet little snowflakes!!!! The huge honkin' EH! stamp is from the M's Dollar BIn!!! I totally LOVE this stamp, because if you know me, you'll know that EH, is a main staple in my vocabulary...............hehe

Last, but not least......... I got a little Sew Happy with this card. My good friend and Sewing GURU Jeanne Streiff has got me inspired to sew. Now I just want to stitch stitch stitch..........zigging and zagging all over the place! Kraft, Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze were the main colour combinations in this little greeting!!! SU! Rubons, Ribbon and Word Window Punch complete the look

Hope you enjoyed my Riley creations! I sure enjoyed making them!

Have a wonderful day,

*****Vicki*****

Day Three.........the cat is outta the bag! The Pink Cat, that is!

I am SO hoping that you have enjoyed the sneak peeks for the new Pink Cat Studio release. I have been waiting in anticipation each day to visit the Designers Blogs to see the beautiful cards and projects that they have created and I have to say WOW! What a talented group of women. I think that with day three embarking on us, the cat is surely out of the bag. Have you seen sweet Kiki in all of her costumes and themes?

Balloon Kitty was a very unusual colour theme for me. It's interesting because when I was stamping with my best girls a couple of weeks ago, they were asking me where the ideas come from, or what process do I go through to "build" cards. It just happened to be that on that particular day, I was colouring a whole bunch of images. In that case, I match my cardstock and designer paper to the image that I have coloured. In the case of Balloon Kiki, I started out with the Designer Paper from the DCWV Pet Stack and then coloured my image to match and used Celery and Cameo Coral Cardstock to compliment the colours in the DP. This is certainly not one of my favourite colour combinations, but definitely and "out of the box" card for me. I used some of that "fuzzy" ribbon that I ordered from the SU winter mini catalogue. I must say that when I first received the ribbon, I wasn't very fussy for it, but after using it on a few projects, I can't get enough of it! It's hard to see in the Picture, but I added a little Crystal effects and glitter to the green balloon to give it some pizzaz!

I have to tell you that I think that this little card has to be my favourite of all the cards I created for the sneak peeks. To me, it has a bit of a vintagy feel, with all the sponging and sweet Lily and Billy put me in mind of the "Campbell's Soup" looking Cherubic characters that you used to see in Vintage type cards.
It's funny because my dear Grandma (missing you G.G.! as you watch over us) was a bit of a packrat and I beleive that the last valentine that she send to my son, who was 10 at the time, was a gorgeous vintage valentine that she had held onto over the years. She SO loved her cards, both giving and receiving them. For Christmas, for the four years that I was stamping before she passed, I would make her a big stack of cards to send out to friends and family. In terms of keeping cards, she had every card that anyone had sent her over the years.
In her last months, she went through all her cards and saved her favourites in a box (and it was a BIG BOX) that she insisted that had to go with her when she passed. As I said my final goodbye to her, the last thing I did was place a special card in her hand, because she loved her cards so much and I loved her more. Gosh, it's funny what can come to mind when a picture triggers a memory...........this paragraph was unexpected, so thanks for listening and sharing my memory.
For this Card, I started with a base of red, based on the images that I had coloured, and then added this sweet musical note paper from October Afternoon. I sponged in quite a bit of creamy caramel ink around the image and the DP to give it that vintagey look. Colouring with copics allowed me to get the rich reds that I was looking for. I used the scallop square punch and mounted it on a diagonal underneath the main image to simulate the look of a heart. I mounted the sentiment onto a brown button........made me think of one of those chocolate wafers.....mmmm. Some wide and yummy Chocolate Satin Ribbon completes the look that I wanted.
I am so excited to be a part of the Pink Cat team! Just wait and see what Melissa has in store for you next release....................soooooooooooo exciting!!!!!!
Thanks for visiting my blog. I'll be back tomorrow with a new Riley image!

Sweet Treats! Pink Cat sneak peek day two!

Here's a couple of new projects with the latest sweet images from PINK CAT STUDIO. I made this project using two images from the Lily and Billy Sweetheart stamp set. I just love this little cupid! He is so Cherubic, shooting hearts and a day dreaming Lily. Do you suppose she, like me is dreaming of winning the lottery?, or do you think she is just waiting for Billy to come along and take her for a bike ride?

I dressed up a pre made purse from K&Co. with the images, Pomegranate and pink gingham ribbon from SU! Prima Flowers and some curtain chain. The sentiment "Be mine" is also an accessory in this new set, along with the little hearts.

And then we have cute Kiki, the baking kitty! Looking at that yummy cupcake is making me crave something sweet! Isn't the Imaginisce Designer Paper perfect for this image? I used Pink Pirouette, Bashful Blue and Pomegranate paper as my base cards stock here. Nestabilities and Stampin' UP! Punches add to the interest of the card. To make Kiki a Calico, I coloured and shaded with Copic Markers, sketching in some fine black lines after the image was complete.

Pomegranate stiched ribbon, White Gel Pen, Prima Flowers and Spica Glittered Hearts finish the image off, along with some Baja Breeze Sponging.

Don't forget to check out the blogs of the other Pink Cat Designers. You can find them on my sidebar!!!!

Happy Stamping and I'll see you tomorrow with some more great Pink Cat Projects!

Sundays are for Featured Stamper

I LOVE Sundays..........especially when I can procrastinate the dreary dull tasks that are on my to do list, like taking down my Christmas Ornaments for instance.........pshaw......that can wait can't it??? It does look a little too festive in here for January though!!!!

So my FIRST priority this morning was to play the featured Stamper Challenge. If you have a lot do today, but really feel like just having fun, head over to the Featured Stamper Challenge
and play!!! To heck with the dishes and dusting!!!!

This card was inspired by Jaydekay's Gallery...........mostly the Valentine Theme. This lovely chickie is SuperGirl from Stampotique. The sentiment is also a Stampotique stamp.

I used a Base of Real Red Cardstock and Daisy Bucket Designer Paper. I Coloured with Copics and punched and cuttlebugged a couple of hearts in keeping with the Valentine's theme. Rusty Pickle Buttons add a wee bit of Pizzaz

Stay tuned tomorrow............................PINK CAT SNEAK PEEKS!!!!!! I am REALLY excited for you to see what I've been working on.

See you then!

Happy Friday!

This week just seemed to fly by, thank goodness!!!! So happy it's Friday!! Time to wind down, play a bit and finish up my designs for the Pink Cat Studio Release next week! Starting Monday, you will see some sweet Designs from the Pink Cat Team.

I altered this Milk Jug when I was at Kristi's house this summer. I just Love Hay Hanna. As you probably have noticed, I also enjoy masking. The first thing I do when I get a new set is make sticky note masks with all of the images. That way, when I am ready to do a card, particularly a scene card, I am all ready to go. Yep, Treat my stamps, make a mask! In this project, Hanna is cut out as is the Milk can and the Kitty cat, but the Cow and Hay are masked. I coloured the image with Copics and added Ribbon, Pearl and Prima embellishments

Have a great Friday!

Happy Stamping!

I LOVE my Garden the most!

The main image from Love my Garden has got to be one of the prettiest images that Hanna has released so far. I just love the soft look of her face and her relaxed position. This card was exceptionally easy to make. When I was at my Best Friend Jacqui's last weekend I noticed this pretty designer paper that she had. It had four panels on it, one of it being this panel that you see here. The card was virtually made for me, with the exception of colouring and cutting out the image! Do you think I can remember the name of the designer paper for the life of me? NOPE!!!!! lol.....................I will have to ask Jax tonight and then edit my post.

I was very fortunate to receive this blog award from Tracey. Please visit her blog, she is an Excellent Scrapbooker and wonderful Photographer!

I am going to pass this award onto my friend Kerry . Kerry is one of the Hanna Guest Designers this month and she does beautiful cards! She has a great sense of humour as well and I enjoy our correspondence!

I received this award from Heather. Her blog is a fun place to visit, with a variety of projects, great photographs and you really get a sense of friendship and knowing Heather when you read her blog. She will be a guest designer for Pink Cat later this year and is just a Sweetheart!!!

Thanks so much for thinking of me Tracey and Heather. I SO appreciate your visits to my blog, your sweet comments and have enjoyed following yours as well!

Don't forget to join me in the Hanna Forum tonight for our latest release party. We'll have Challenges, Prizes and Chatter!!!!! See you there!

Ahoy Hanna!

Gonna give you the quick down and dirty this morning as I am running late...........hmmm think I forgot to add punctuality onto my list of New Years Resolutions! These two cards are made with images from the Ahoy Hanna Stamp set, one of the sets that will be released Thursday night in the Hanna Forum. If you go into the Forum now, you will see some Fabulous Sneak Peeks. In addition, you can follow the links to the DT blogs on my sidebar. If you have seen some other cards made with the Lighthouse, you will notice they have a beacon on their lighthouse. I decided to carefully use a sharp exacto knife to remove my beacon, so that I had the option of stamping with or without it. Hanna in her boat was made with Crate Paper DP. I used Mellissa Frances DP along with A Prism Sage Green and Rust coloured paper.

That's it, that's all, sorry for the short post (actually someone might be quite thankful today that my verbage is at the low end of the scale). Have a Wonderful day and come back for more sneak peeks tomorrow please!!!!!

Pink Cat Contest over at Paper Craft Planet

Melissa from Pink Cat Studio is hosting a fabulous contest this week over at Paper Craft Planet. Isn't this image the sweetest?? She was inspired to create Lily the Fairy from a beautiful painting that she made while in Art School. Click HERE to see that painting as well as the details of the contest. You have until January 13th to submit your card to Melissa!!!!

I was inspired to make a Winter Fairy using this gorgeous double sided designer Paper from October Afternoon. I used a base cardstock of Riding Hood Red and Neenah White to to stamp the main image and the sentiment. I coloured with Copics, cut the Red Heart freehand and used white gell pen to highlight the sentiment area. The Scalloped Border on the reverse of the DP was made with the Martha Stewart Border Punch.

Be sure that you submit a sample using the image that Melissa will provide for you by PDF file.
The Prize for the winner is FABOOOOOOOOOOOOO

And OH MY..........you are going to be totally in awe of the Sneak Peeks, beginning soon!!!!!

Sneak Peek-I love my Garden

Happy New Year everyone!!! I hope that you all had a safe and Happy Holiday! Now back to the Grind!!!!!

I was very fortunate to end my holidays with an impromptu visit to my BFF Jacqui's house where I got to spend a couple of days stamping. To top that off, Kristi joined us and we just had the best time!

This sweet gal has got to be my favourite image ever! I know, I know, I say that every month, but I am sure that Love My Garden absolutely takes the cake! The tiny little Grasshopper is from the Backyard Dweller set, also being released this week.

Join us this Thursday evening in the Hanna Stamps Forum HERE
to see all the great sneak peeks, for fun and beaucoup de chatter!!!!

I used Bazzil Cardstock as my base, the colour being very similar to Really Rust. This is one Large Card, having cut the 12x12 paper down to 8.5 x 11 and folding in half. Always Artichoke was my choice for a complimentary colour. I coloured with Copics and sponged in the ground with Creamy Caramel. A little white and black gel pen was used for the highlights and lowlights on the sunflower and SU! Flannel Ribbon to finish.

I will have lots and lots of sneak peeks for you this week.

In addition, Melissa is holding an Awesome Contest over at Pink Cat Studio. Visit her blog HERE for details and watch for a post on my blog later today.

Happy Stamping!
